Now known as Arizona Specialty Surgical Center. My husbands knee surgery went very well. ALL STAFF are outstanding from reception to surgeon without exception. The facility runs like clockwork. Family members are kept informed as to patients surgery by a frequently updated detail board. This facility has one of the best chefs in town producing tasty hot meals. My husband's steak was tender cooked to perfection and hot. Helpful caring staff are there support and inform throughout the stay. We cannot speak highly enough of this experience. 10 star rating would be too few. Follow up once home was appreciated. read more

This hospital did not provide adequate post operative care for my husband, resulting in extreme stress and delayed recovery. One of the nurses was extremely rude towards him and would not call me, per his request, to come help him. I found out later that they left him for about an hour soaking in his urine. This is not a hospital for a patient that is older. This is our second experience with this hospital and both times have been extremely difficult and disappointing. read more

People, please research this organization before you allow yourself to be abused by them. I wish I had looked further into there recent troubles and lawsuits as it would have determined a whole new path for me. I am elderly and this is my second visit at this place. Both visits resulted in me being discharged before I was actually ready. Both visits I was treated with extreme disrespect by the night nurses and some of the day ones. On my last visit the night nurse took my phone from me when I asked to call my wife so she could come help me, I pissed myself because I was not allowed out of bed without help and then they just let me lay in my own urine for at least an hour. When I finally tried to get out of bed to take care of myself they stopped me and brought another nurse that was only allowed to observe me, she could not help me either. The nurse that was there observing me kept asking me when I was going to start standing up for myself and telling those night nursed what I needed. I cannot express enough, this is not a hospital for the elderly and if you are brave enough to try this place then you may want to consider having someone stay with you for the entire duration so that they can keep an eye on how you are treated and make sure that you are well taken care of. By the way, when my wife and I filed our formal complaints we learned that most traveling nurses do not like this facility either for exactly the same reasons I am sharing. This is a very corporate conveyor belt type of an operation that relies on resort style cuisine and a modern luxury lobby to camouflage their unethical practices. My understanding is that Oasis is an orthopedic procedure hospital. As such, concern for all the general diseases in most hospitals is nonexistent. Nice, but nothing in comparison to the friendliness in every corner of this place. Yes, it is neat and clean while not being supersized. I was greeted by security who immediately arranged for intake that was short and sweet. I remember about the last thing she said to me was " anyone with an ID like this is your friend, they want to help you". Passing an other patient in the hall surprised me with a suggestion to order a specific dinner choise. He was right. The food and kitchen staff are proud to make you happy. They do! The nurses, aids, custodial and everyone else made me feel more like I was on vacation than about to have back surgery. I'm just an old guy on Medicare but felt special, valued and somehow important the entire stay(about 28 hours). I've never written a review like this but if I can help you have a positive experience here or somehow encourage the entire staff who were there to help me through a procedure I was sort of afraid of then I've accomplished something truly good in this crazy world. Remembered my name at all times! She grabbed a wheel chair, rolled me over to register, came back and took me to the nurses! Asked IF she could bring me anything! Was always polite and caring! I have had to make use of the services here at Oasis hospital twice this year. Once directly before COVID came into our lives and again here now in November. I had my hip replaced in January and I'm in now for a knee replacement. It is a state-of-the-art facility and it makes strives to make you feel like you are at home. It is not the typical sterile hospital environment. The staff are extremely attentive and seem to actually enjoy working here. That is an extreme dichotomy from many other hospital experiences that I have had. My meal last night was by far the worst that I've had here. That is to say, that it was only four stars versus everything else which has been five stars. The food is truly wonderful and when they were open to visitors in January even my wife commented how good cafeteria food was. I was given a midnight snack to help have something in my stomach for some medication. Even that was really good. They brought in what looked like a pre-made sandwich in the little triangle wedge. That is where the similarity to the convenience store sandwich ended. It was on wonderful multigrain bread had ripe juicy tomatoes and crisp romaine lettuce with crispy bacon and delicious ham. The quality of that really impressed me. They are constantly trying to improve. In fact, I was the very first patient to have knee replacement dumb with the aid of the Mako surgical robot at this facility. My surgeon, Dr Michael Domer, had been doing it with a Mako at another facility for quite some time. I was happy to be among their guinea pigs for this upgrade. I cannot say enough good things about the facility and my experience. If you have the choice of being able to come to Oasis, jump at it. They do not do anything besides orthopedic and spine surgery. Therefore, you have much less exposure to infectious diseases such as COVID-19. Being a specialty hospital, they are extremely good at what they do. My outcome from the hip surgery could not have been better. Everything is pointing towards this knee replacement being just as good. read more

The building was beautiful, but it's a shame they didn't clean after surgery. My grandmas room never had clean sheets, they never gave a clean gown, and the trash in my room was over flowing! TIFFANY the night nurse was so rude, cold, and acted like a total B*** towards my grandma the entire time.! What a horrible person whose suppose to be a "care giver" I would Hope the hospital fire her! Nobody wants to get a joint replaced. However if your Doctor works out of Oasis... choose this place. From the orientation... to the facility.... it is(was) top notch. I had hip replacement 14AUG. It is like checking into a hotel. Doesn't look or smell like a hospital. Front desk staff all lovely. Admissions... easy. Up to Pre op and all the nurses... were just amazing. Professional. And really knew how to ease your mind. Next thing I know... I'm in recovery. Woke up to the lovely voice of Ingrid. Overnight ice chips. Sweet and caring. Wheeled to my room to start my recovery. The rooms are amazing. Large.. big picture window... remote controls everything. Not just the TV. I like that I can control my own temperature in my room. They provide you with a sound machine too. The staff is by far the most well trained I've ever seen. And again... nobody is sick. They are all in for joint replacement! Don't have to worry about leaving with Mersa or Pneumonia! I know everyone talks about the food. Honestly did have much of an appetite. Managed to do one night dinner with my husband. Filet... and Salmon. Both very good. Next day I wanted the Turkey Club. What cane? I don't know. It was a turkey sandwich with tomatoes and red onion. Yuk. Ruined it for me. Bagel and coffee for mornings. Decent. With edible flower!! Best hospital coffee ever. Anyway... hope I Never have to go back... but if I need to.... I will once again... choose Oasis read more

My experience with oasis hospital was 100% positive. The staff to patient ratio was just right. Whenever I needed medication or help going to the restroom there was always somebody available to help me Nursing staff were quick to respond and we're always friendly and kind. The food was excellent, the hospital was quiet. The room was large, private and had plenty of TV channels to select from I had a hip replacement performed and hopefully will never need to come back but if I ever need another hip replaced I would like it done at this hospital read more

What to say about the staff at Oasis? How about Amazing! I am a veteran and decided not to have the VA replace my hip. Instead I met one of the best surgeons in Dr. Curtis Miller. From the moment that my wife and I met him, I knew I was in competent hands. I never had the same reaction or feeling from the doctors at the VA where they treat you like a number (Your last four) and not a person. He was up front and honest with me, he said that I needed to lose some weight before he would even operate on me. From April 28th through July 14th with determination, I lost 25 lbs. Surgery was a success and I couldn't be happier with my choice. So now on to the staff. Matte who meets you for Covid screening before your surgery. To having her see you in recovery is simply the sweetest you lady! I'm going to try and do my best to remember the rest of this #1 team. If you ever need any orthopedic surgery done, I highly recommend this hospital. They offer a class prior to surgery to walk to through your visit. I opted for the afternoon class and was pleasantly surprised with lunch. I had a knee replacement 2 days before elective surgeries were canceled. The staff was excellent. The rooms are all private and the food was really good. They have a big menu and you can choose what you want and when you would like it. The nurses and the assistants were all very nice and accommodating. My room was cleaned daily. I will definitely be using this hospital in the future for my other knee. read more

They hire unqualified people and get rid of quality based on who likes who...nepotism is allowed and uncertified people are allowed to work in departments they are not qualified to work. Administration is horrible and the biggest part of the problem. I went to Oasis for my ACL replacement surgery. In general all seemed to go well on the surgery. The procedure was done and I have not had any complications as of yet (~23 days out from surgery). So I can only assume that the staff is coherent and clean (sorry, I was knocked out so I can't judge). The only thing I can knock them for is scheduling. I was originally scheduled for a 2pm surgery. Then the day before thy called to confirm and said it was scheduled for 4pm (didn't even mention that it was moved, just confirmed a different time). Then at 11am on surgery day they called and asked if I wanted to come in early (which I didn't since I was not allowed to drive myself in and had made plans for someone to get me). Then I get there for my 4pm surgery and I am not taken back for my surgery at 6pm. My point is that you can't change times on the fly. With a surgery such as mine you have to arrange for someone to drive you there. If you and your driver are waiting at home, fine. But if you are asking people to take off work or drive over to pick you up this is not efficient at all. Then if they are driving you home, and you have surgery 4 hours after the original time then this could potentially mess up your schedule for getting home, etc. This is all aggravating and luckily I had someone pick me up that was flexible with their time and had someone to pick me up that was flexible with their time. I checked in yesterday for a total knee replacement. My doctor strongly recommended Oasis Hospital over Dignity and Banner because "everyone who walks through the door is well" and thus, the infection rate is very low. I must admit that a couple of the other Yelper's reviews were unsettling; but in my experience, I've had zero issues. I think the greatest strength of Oasis is the excellent staff! From the security guard at my early morning check-in to the Hanger Orthopedic representative who works here, EVERYONE has been friendly, responsive, patient focused, polite and competent. You not just another insurance claim or source of revenue, but real person who's have orthopedic surgery. It's not cliche, the patient does come first. Rooms are clean and modern. Pain is taken seriously and well-managed. The food is excellent! The overnight staffing is every bit as good as the daytime staff. The have a hospitalist (a MD who handles your inpatient care after surgery) who visits you 1:1 daily. I misunderstood some miscellaneous charges on my debit card and they handled it with tact & a warm smile. It's a though the staff knows they have something special going on here and they work daily to achieve it. When the the day comes for my second knee to be replaced, I'll definitely be back! read more

It is nice and clean, but as for post surgery care the worst, I had no water and urinal was full, nearly 4hrs ran out of water and my urinal was full, I completely filled it immediately after it was emptied. Had trouble with my drain tube, nobody attended to it. I was Spoke to in a very rude manner on hospital policy wearing my CPap woke to yelling that I need to inform them of wearing it. Worn when sleeping, nobody to tell, told nurse act like I am wearing it all the time. So much miscommunication about walking when I was released to walk, rudely confronted twice stopped walking. Poor medication management, not giving medication when needed, for diabetes, I could test with my phone app and it was around 300 the whole time. Ask for stool softener because I know the effects of pain meds, was answered you will get mirlax when leaving, never received either. Good thing I brought my own softener. read more

If you want a hospital that does NOT help the patient, this hospital is for you. If you want a hospital that does not respond even though the call button was pushed 7 times, this hospital is for you. If you want a hospital that the nurse totally ignores you then this hospital is for you. If you want a hospital that does not give you medication that is prescribed by my doctor, this hospital is for you. If you want to waste your money on co pays then this hospital is for you. I had a Reverse Total Shoulder Replacement on Tuesday, September 4th. I have no ill words to say about my surgeon, he is THE BOMB when it comes to working on my shoulder. I was out of that hospital in 24 hours, there was no way I wanted to stay longer than I needed. At least I can take my medication when I need instead of a nurse not caring enough to give it to me on time. If you want to wait over an hour to get pain meds.... you need to look for another hospital because someone who just had surgery and needs their pain meds had to wait over an hour for it. Surgery during the corona pandemic - while I absolutely understand the impact of covid-19 on hospitals, and feel that Oasis is a superb hospital, there are some things that are the result of family members no longer being allowed to visit with you, that could be improved upon. When you arrive in your patient room after surgery, your belongings are left in various places that are unreachable to the patient who is post-op, initially. No one goes over with you where the light switches are, asks if they can get anything for you from your bag, or asks if you need any assistance say with getting your charger plugged in. Though in this day and age, why are there no charger outlets in the bed?? All the little but necessary things needed as you settle in, end up being a source of consternation for the patient. You don't want to bother nursing, but how are you going to get your toothbrush? It takes some time before you realize that you can control the room temperature on your TV. And to use wifi and get a password, well the information is probably in the binder on the wall, but of course you can't reach it. Unfortunately it is a bit like arriving at a hotel and someone needs to acquaint you with how the room works and someone also needs to help orient you with your belongings so you can reach those items you need during your stay. The board where they have the names of the individuals helping you each shift is great. It allows you to take a photo of each shift crew so you can send them thank you notes if you so choose. And your PT progress is noted on the board which gives you a feeling of accomplishment. Kudos to the nurse Heather, who recognized that a lady likes to be fully covered when she is going to walk down the hall! And was a super nurse as well. I was fortunate to be under the care of Holly and Janet, both of whom deserve the MVP award of my stay. The fellow in the Oasis Cafe should also be recognized for not only being the bearer of a much needed starbucks coffee, but for getting me plugged in so I could face time my family and get work done. In fact all the staff, nursing, Physical Therapy, Pre-Op, Post-Op, and Anaesthesiology was just amazing! At all times I was made to feel comfortable and was told that the staff was available to answer any of my questions. My concerns about anaesthesia were efficiently addressed and I felt the utmost confidence in my anaesthesiologist, Dr. Charles Beaulieu. And the rockstar of the whole event? None other than the fabulous Dr. Robert Berghoff!!! Probably the finest orthopaedic surgeon doing anterior hip replacements. Just a superb surgeon and human being. Improvements? As with any institution, there are some things that could be improved. Once I was told the surgery was a "go" I started receiving phone calls - from the surgical nurse, the admitting gal at Oasis, a case manager, it went on and on, day after day. In terms of efficiency, it would have been helpful to know these people would be calling, and when. Because then I could have had the necessary info ready and at hand. Instead I felt like a barrage of calls happened almost daily, and I was always scrambling to get my questions and relevant information. In short, it left me feeling unprepared on my end. And I guess it would have helped if I'd been prepared for the sense of isolation I felt because of the Covid restrictions. While the surgery is physically taxing, there is also an emotional component and the feeling of isolation is acute. And finally, I wish PT could have given me some instructions regarding how to hoist myself into an SUV without causing myself bodily harm. LOL Thanks Oasis, for a job well done! read more

When I was told I was going to have my procedure at Oasis Hospital I had never heard of the place and was more than just a little skeptical. To be blunt, I thought this was going to be some rinky dink joint populated by medical staff trained through correspondence course and given credit towards graduation for "life experience". Nothing could be farther from the truth. This place was amazing and everyone, every single person, I met or who helped me was awesome. Top notch. A #1. I liked em. A lot. They were professional, on-time, and very competent. So, they gave me lots of happy drugs and knocked me out and before you know it I was awake and chatting away making no sense. Like usual. It was a blast. All too soon it was time to go and that's when the tears came. But I knew I had made lifelong friends who knew how to administer the most fun IV you'll ever have. And though I have yet to hear from any of them, except for a lovely personalized note, I know they miss me too. They are probably just busy and can't pick up the phone or something. In short, I cannot praise this place and the wonderful staff here enough. They took good care of me and did it with a smile. Not sure I could ask for anything more. Omg! I wish I knew about this place years ago!!! I've had a total of 6 knee surgeries (for many different reasons) and the staff here was impeccable! So caring and concerned with patient recovery- I DID NOT feel like a number. AND, I had previously been scheduled at a hospital for this, and due to scheduling issues, was bumped to this facility. I'm glad I was- was SIGNIFICANTLY less expensive than the quoted estimate from the hospital and I know the care was 10x better! We were very optimistic about the Oasis Medical Center. It's nice & new + the reviews were great... As I think back on it now, I guess my biggest complaint was the two nurses assigned to care for my husband while he was at Oasis where he had a full hip replacement. The year before he had his full hip replacement at Oasis my husband had a 360 spinal fusion at Thompson Peak Medical Center. (so that is the only other hospital/facility I had to compare to) When my husband came out of surgery at Oasis and was taken to his room he said he was in a lot of pain. So I went to the nurses station (there was only one nurse at the station and she wasn't very friendly toward me at all) and I informed the nurse of what my husband had said about being in pain. The nurse acted like I was bothering her- she didn't even come to his room and she said that he had to be awake for her to give him any pain medication. (he was in and out at this point) So I went back to his room and I told him (a little white lie) that the nurse would be coming with pain medication, thinking that he'd fall back to sleep. Well... of course he didn't! He stayed awake. So... a little while later I went back to the nurses station again (no one had even checked on him since I'd been there) and I told the nurse that he was still asking for pain medication. This time she came to his room with the medication and wouldn't you know it... he had fallen asleep! We woke him up and she gave him the medication (prob so I'd stop bothering her) When my husband was at Thompson Peak for his 360 degree spinal fusion, he had a pain delivery method where he pushed a button and that was SO MUCH BETTER. They didn't have that at Oasis at the time my husband was there. That difference in administering pain medication was a BIG DEAL in my opinion. Also- on his 2nd day at the hospital my husband wanted me to bring our little dog when I came to visit him. (She is so well behaved that she never barks, she she stays right where you put her, she's never in the way) As I walked into the hospital I passed a bulletin board with info on a new therapy dog program there at the hospital and as I walked by an open office door, an administrator looked up and asked me if she was a therapy dog. But when I got to my husband's room a nurse came in saw the dog and said: "what's this? Dogs aren't allowed and this isn't Petsmart!" I hope they've all gotten it together by now. On his last day in the hospital I'd had it with the nurse who had been so rude to me. I walked right past the nurses station and I'd decided I wouldn't even say hello to her. But the last straw was when I was helping my husband get dressed to leave, that nurse walked into his room and my jaw must've dropped to the floor. The tone of voice she used when speaking to him was so different than when I had talked to her. She was so nice and so sweet, I could not believe this was the same person! Don't get me wrong- I'm glad that she treated my husband well, but it was like night and day! I could understand her attitude if I had been rude or disrespectful to her- but I wasn't. I was always nice to her. Anyway, that was just weird. I wish I had something better to say about Oasis, but I'd definitely recommend Thompson Peak Medical Center over Oasis Hospital. We expected that my husband's recovery from a full hip replacement would be a lot easier than a 360 spinal fusion, but it was not. The full hip replacement was much harder on him and it took him a LOT longer to recover. read more

Wish the entire staff was immunized; I asked and I got an honest answer but still received good care. They seem to really want to please. What an amazing group of nurses, doctors and support staff. I was in for a below the knee amputation on December 8th. Everyone that I came in contact with was caring, compassionate and completely professional. The nurses made my stay of only 2 days great even for an amputation surgery. Josh in physical therapy was great. He encouraged me to get out of bed and up on my foot. We worked on making my recovery a success and transition back home as easy as possible. The staff also kept my family well informed of my progress and treated them like family. What a great hospital! read more

Great staff and hospital specializing in ortho! Couldn't have had better experience. Hotel feel to the place with decor and large private rooms. My wife insisted on being there for my three day stay and total knee replacement. They made her welcome and comfortable. I suffered from her attention as well as all of the friendly staff and it made a painful operation manageable. Darius, Gabby, Melissa, Ash, Dawn all took care of us on different shifts. They are all human, have fun, and know their jobs. Joshua is an excellent PT therapist. Highly recommend. Where do I begin with the praises of this hospital?! I've been to many and I loved this one. Checking in was a breeze as well as checking out. Everyone was so friendly and very kind to me during my total knee replacement surgery. This was my second experience with a knee replacement. They taught me tips and tricks that the other place did not that made things so much easier for me. If I needed anything, they were there in a minute. They were especially wonderful with managing my pain, thank goodness. The food was delicious except for the tomato soup!! But I would highly recommend Oasis Hospital!
