Stopped here for pizza and burgers and was so disappointed. Even though they have the word pizza on the building, in their name and on every page of their menu, they don't actually serve pizza until 5:00pm. Ugh. We got there at 4:00, so we didn't get any. Instead, we all got burgers and they were TERRRRRRRIBLE. The meat patty was the thinnest patty I've ever seen - about half the thickness of a McDonalds kids meal burger, to give you an idea - and burned. (I'll post a picture!) The fries were crap, too. We took a few bites and then headed to Burger King since we were still hungry. Waste of time, waste of money.

    Cute local restaurant

This place is not fancy like some of the town square establishments and may not cater for all (there's no English menu) but it serves authentic and well priced mexican food. If you don't have a local handy to explain the menu, the waiters are pretty easy going and happy to try to explain the menu with whatever english words they know (outside of Cancun, you can't really ask for more).

Una torta que pedí, junto con un batido "Pancho Pantera" que me encantó. Buen precio, y quedé muy satisfecho.

This little parkside restaurant is ADORABLE. You walk inside and sit in the patio and it's like you're in another world. The foliage and ivy mixed with sculptures and twinkling lights is magical and romantic. We ordered only pasta, but there are pizzas on the menu too. I had the spaghetti carbonara, and the flavor was delicious, but some of the egg in the sauce did get a bit scrambled versus remaining a velvety sauce on the noodles. The chunks of bacon in my pasta were large and smoky. My husband got the Prosciutto and Funghi pasta in a cream sauce, and his was buttery and delicious, better than mine, I'd say. As a recommendation from our nice waiter, we ordered the focaccia bread, and it was amazing. Chewy, covered in garlic oil and fresh out of the oven, you cannot go wrong with bread like this. I knocked off one star because there are no real meat options on the menu. There is a bolognese sauce, and the two dishes we ordered had small pieces of ham, but I would have liked meatball, shrimp or grilled chicken options to go with my pasta.

The previous night we dined at another recommended, but definitely tourist restaurant and had a wonderful experience. This was just the opposite and I cannot recommend it. We ordered margaritas, a mushroom starter, a tuna entree, and a beef entree. I added a glass a Cabernet Sauvignon. The margaritas were overly sweet. I ordered the beef medium, expecting a warm pink center. I received a very red center. When I asked for it to be cooked a little more the waiter told me that I should have ordered it medium well. He took my plate and we did not see him for another 10-15 minutes. In the meantime, my husband really enjoyed his tuna and I liked the wine. I don't think there is a wine list - I was offered a choice of merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon - no worries - it was good but a very small pour, maybe 4oz. The margaritas were similarly modest. The mushrooms and tuna were good. Overall - it wasn't 100% terrible but I would not go back and cannot recommend.

A laid back wood fired pizza spot with a super cool, relaxed ambience and the friendliest energy. We ordered the pepperoni pizza and honestly I've never had anything like it. It's insanely good. Pair it with their habanero sauce and jalapeños and it is literally fire. Perfectly cooked, bold flavor, unforgettable. We also ordered the Caprese with apples, almonds, and beets and wow. Such a fresh and different take on a salad. Every ingredient tasted so clean and vibrant. My tummy was genuinely happy after this meal, which says a lot. It's not far from where we're staying near Azulik, which made it even better. The vibe is effortless, chill, and welcoming. Bonus points for the two local cats, who are absolutely adorable and add so much charm to the place. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, and the menu has so many choices that there is truly something for everyone. If pizza is your love language and you're anywhere near Tulum, Boccanera is a must visit.

We put our name on a list, but no phone number was given so really it's a wait for a table or come back type of situation. We ended up leaving and coming back 40 mins later and were sat quickly outside. The pizzas are OUTSTANDING! I think the reviews all say that and it's the truth. The crust is Neapolitan style thinner crust but the flavor is just spot on! The toppings and sauce are well balanced. The roasted chicken was a great addition to the vegetarian. If they made cheese sticks with a marinara sauce with that crust it would be a HUGE seller! The green salad was pretty standard and not much that was memorable or forgettable, just good and as expected. Unfortunately, the bruschetta was a huge let down -- we literally received halved cherry tomatoes on a piece of bread. They served it with olive oil to drizzle, but that did not even come close to what we expected. There are a few cats that roam the outside patio, but they don't bother you much. The staff was welcoming and we had good conversation with the server even for it being 20 mins before they closed.
