She's attentive, very knowledgeable (explaining every mole/mark on your body), and takes her time answering any questions you might have (especially regarding concerning spots). I never feel rushed and always leave feeling reassured! For this visit, I was provided some dark spot cream to help treat some dark spots on my face. I was advised that if I didn't see results within a few weeks, that I would be prescribed a stronger topical cream. I called back after a few weeks, was prescribed a new cream, and have seen some good results! Other Notes: - I was provided with a gift bag of sunscreen, body soap/wash, etc. for being a new patient. These weren't travel size - they were full sized bottles! This was greatly appreciated! - The ambiance/decor in the main office is SO cute! I enjoyed the decor, lighting, and music while waiting to be seen! - The parking situation is absolutely horrible (this office is right next to Capital University)! I spent at least 15 minutes driving back and forth the main street trying to find a parking spot. Boo! I would recommend suggesting available parking lots/spots should the back parking lot be full! Much later, after both surgeries, when the billings began appearing, I discovered that the initial (mostly verbal) consultation, at which I furnished a written diagnosis and MOHS treatment plan, and lab results, cost me MORE at this Institute than did the original diagnosis by the MOHS surgeon who discovered and extracted the cancerous skin samples, removed a non-cancerous polyp from my face, and employed cryosurgery on three areas of my skin. 7 months after MOHS surgery at The Institute, I found the squamous cell incision area exhibiting an inflamed skin lesion, the basal cell incision area exhibiting a pronounced lump due to being sutured closed too tightly, and the Institute's billing department devoid of capability for handling my regularly-made payments.

Derek is my doc and he is very caring and patient with questions and explaining the process. I always received good care from him. I was there to get a body scan which I'm sure everyone knows isn't on the list of "things I want to do today", but he makes you comfortable. When he saw my wounds he diagnosed my condition and formed a game plan, he and I worked together for 2 1/2 years and finally got it under control. While working on my wounds Alopecia came into the picture so now we are working on this issue. Dr. Kaffenberger has always been patient and attentive, I never felt rushed in any of my visits. Dr. Kaffenberger and his staff have also been very supportive and helpful, I've never had a long wait to be seen, the office is always clean. When my prescriptions are priced beyond what I can afford the office works with manufacturers to get the price within reason or at no cost to me. I have some skin issues, including cancer, in my family history so I agreed and scheduled the appointment with the referred dermatologist. Upon scheduling, I really appreciated that the staff asked whether I preferred a male or female doctor. Knowing that my entire body was going to be examined with a magnifying glass, I opted to have a female doctor. Leading up to my appointment, I received a reminder in the mail, a call, and messages in my MyChart account. Loving all that outreach! I arrived to find a giant parking lot in the back of the building, which is where I was advised to enter the office. I got there and was immediately checked in, paid my copay, and took a seat in the waiting room. It was clean (even the restroom) and at first, I was a little nervous that I'd be waiting a while. There was a good number of patients waiting to be seen. No worries though, because I was taken back to a room right on time. The nurse was super friendly and explained the process to be while confirming my medications and whatnot. After changing into a gown, the doctor and nurse came in and began my exam. It went by very quickly, everyone was very professional, and I felt comfortable from start to finish. Questions were answered, and I was told that everything looked good... what a relief! I was told that I should be checked about every two years and that they would reach out to me to schedule when the time comes. Jeez, thanks for making this so easy for me!
