The scenery is very nice, fairways are moderately wide, difficulty is a bit less than Falcon Point. I like that their front 9 has 3 par-3 holes and 3 par-5 holes, par 3s are all about 200 yards, very satisfying to swing.

And while it was here, it maintained a cherished spot on the tour schedule ... the week before the masters. It was the last chance for many pros to get a spot in the field not to mention, the staff maintained this course similar to conditions at Augusta. It was this site that attracted the top names in the sport to test their mettle. This is where they shave the banks so your ball can roll into the water/sand/hazard easier. They mow the fairways back towards the tee box to prevent your ball from rolling too far. They create lots of uneven lies all around the course and do a magnificent job of creating elevation changes in a part of the world where that type of feature is rare. So don't think that because it's flat that this course is easy. This course is ready to eat your golf balls like Cookie Monster so bring plenty of extras. Everything about this course caters to the premium golfer. If you tee off before noon, they will supply unlimited balls at the range which is why you will see such a difference in price between rates after the noon hour. Not sure if fore caddie service is offered here anymore like it was back in the day, but the day we visited, during the pandemic, this service was not offered. Hopefully a local resident or club member can provide some input for our viewers to let us know. Amazing course but for the price could offer more…read more Course: They have a member course and non-member (tournament) course. We played the tournament course and we're blown away by how gorgeous it was ! There was so much nature and space. The views were amazing and the greens were well maintained. I also loved that they not only had a driving range, but an area to practice various other parts of your game which was amazing! Unfortunately, being so large, the course was a bit confusing and we never saw anyone to ask directions from. A lot of split cart paths didn't have signs and even some of the holes were missing their signs. The carts did have maps but our cart kept getting confused about where on the map it was. This made it challenging for first time visitors. Cost: Compared to other courses, the cost here is pretty high. It was about $110 per person not including cart. For such a high cost I did expect the carts/cart maps to work better and there to be more available on the course (there were no trash cans at holes and no cart girl. There was only 1 place to refresh at hole 10, which is normal but was pretty lack luster). Halfway house: The best part of this was the racoon that hangs there. But don't trust him - he steals everything (probably because he refuses to pay to play a round hineself). He took one of my golf balls right out of the cart. The house has very minimal snacks and drinks. It was quite lack luster and I expected way better from a course like this, especially since no cart girl comes around. Restuarant: They do have a restaurant on site that is quite large. We just got a snack there but the service was very awkward! Overall I'd return to this course because it's just gorgeous but I'd plan a little better as everything is so far apart and snacks/drinks are quite limited on the course. I can only assume the member side has more to offer.

A few problems for me here: 1. The course is a little overpriced, and they are not on GolfNow, so no way to get the green fees down even with senior discount. I just go to course that's farther away but just as good but far cheaper with GolfNow. 2. The course is too crowded for my taste. I like an uncontested roll, and just looking at the overcrowded parking lot chases me away. Otherwise, it's a pleasant course, and I would play during the week if they would get the price point in the mid-$20s during the week. 3. Previous employees less friendly than most. Never smile, seem annoyed. Last May the new people were a mite friendlier, but not much.

The fields make up Lindsay/Lyons Park and consist of baseball, softball, football and soccer fields along with barbecue pavilions, restrooms, a concession stand and playgrounds. Because there are twenty soccer fields, this park hosts many city and statewide soccer tournaments. I've spent many weekends as a parent spectator on the sidelines during these tournaments and believe this is one of the nicest facilities in the city. The fields are well-groomed, not over-crowned, and remain high and dry when many other similar facilities are inundated after a large storm. The parking is crazy during a large tournament, but I haven't been anywhere else that doesn't have the same problem. The only thing that keeps this facility from garnering a four star review becomes evident when a west wind starts blowing. For, you see, what looks like a large excavation site from the air just happens to be the Atascocita (pronounced uh-TAS-koh-SEE-ta) landfill. The fetid odor from this dump descends upon the fields and delivers a stench that you not only can smell, but taste. It ain't pleasant. The only saving grace is that after a few minutes of acute discomfort, your sense of smell is overwhelmed and you stop noticing it. Regardless, firing up the barbecue just doesn't seem very appetizing...
