The girl at the desk never provided any information about anything. I did not know I needed quarters for the locker rental, nor did I not know I couldn't wear a baseball cap or have a crossbody bag. As soon as I got on the rink, the attendant told me I had to get off because of my hat. I wasn't upset or anything, I quietly skated off, returned my skates and gathered my belongings. As I was exiting I observed men on the skating rink with beanies on their heads and skull caps. Additionally I observed adults walking on the rink as they were helping their children. I did not know that the rink was also a track. I would think that's a bigger safety hazard than wearing a hat. When I went to the front to inquire about a refund there was a gentleman in front of me who had on a hat and I was tempted to say something to him but I also wanted to see if the clerk would remind him of the hat policy, but she didn't. I don't know if the assumption is that everyone who visits are regulars and know the protocol, but it wouldn't hurt to have signage at the front desk and to also remind the attendants to say something to the patrons.

They offer no towels, no hairdryer, and in general, not one of the best I've used. He obviously did not pay attention to our conversations and recommended my child for his program that's from 7:30-8:30 Monday through Friday. As a working parent, that meant I had to get up earlier to get my child there for the program, drive home and dash off to work. I was willing because my child was very interested and I was looking forward to joining this community and meeting people. On 8/3/26, we arrived at the metuchen location only to be told the practice was at the Edison location. We dashed there to try and be as on time as possible out of respect. Upon arrival to the correct location, I saw a couple of what appeared to be 20 year olds. NOT ONE PERSON EVEN SAID GOOD MORNING! There were no introductions. A man, who later turned out to be head coach Adam Soural, seemed bothered by my questions (where are the locker rooms and what should we do before this practice starts) and then told my child to get in the water. Again, nooooo introductions or even a second to let my child know he's in a safe, community based environment, what he can expect, what he will learn, nothing!!! Not one adult there offered anything to say my child is in good hands or that we are welcomed into this community. I thought for a moment, maybe it's me, but then another parent showed up, upset. He also was not told the correct location and informed me this type of attitude is to be expected from Adam. At the end, Adam let me know the program was not the right fit for my son and told me aquatics coordinator, dawn Willemsen, would reach out. Here we are two days later and I have heard nothing. Even after emailing and expressing my disappointment in the lack of community the program has. First impressions matter when it comes to leaving your child with "trusted adults" THIS IS NOT IT!!!!! I would give this place zero stars if I could.

Have noticed machines which are broken stay broken for a while; I understand things break now and again, but here it seems repairs are not made timely. Locker rooms/ bathrooms are relatively clean; never checked out the pool. The interior lighting is too dim. Not many serious lifters here- mostly casual... I prefer the Edison location.
