Inspector Robert Decker of Advanced Septic Inspections (ASI) failed to properly inspect our septic system during two (2) day inspection. Per ASI's website; the use of camera was an important part for us in determining whether we would purchase the property. The final inspection report was successful, however, the first day we moved into the property - all plumbing failed (backed up) in the entire house. We were charged $855.00 for the inspection with an additional $225 for them to come back and assess the problem. When ASI returned to assess our problem, Mr Decker began to dig up an area that was never dug up before - but per the final report - it was inspected. We caught him like a deer in headlights. We then hired sewer service company and within minutes they determined that substantial blockage originated in the main line ( pipe exiting the house to the tank) was separated. This should have been caught especially with a camera. We filed a small claims against ASI and won our case, however we have tried multiple times to speak with someone regarding our case and no one returns our call (must be extremely busy I guess).

I am highly satisfied with their services. Our home inspector spent 3-hours inspecting the house and teaching me things I needed to know, like "Here is where you change the air conditioning filter; this is the control for the heater for this section of the house; here is how to use the remote to light the gas fireplace; this is the control for air-conditioning in this section of the house, and on and on. I really appreciated that. I fully trust this home inspector and have no hesitation in providing a 5 star review.

Excavation company had to tear up my walkway to put in brand new sewer lines for both gray and black tanks. They said "we dont test the lines from home to tank, we only test from tank to field." Then i pointed out that "sewer line" was checked off as satisfactory on my rpt and then they said "well the water must have been going through at the time." Where is the video? Make sure you are there "IF" you decide to use them and flush the toilets and run kitchen sink water and watch for yourself. What a bunch of bullshit. Recommended by my realtor. Thats my bad and my first mistake!

Saw the good reviews for John Matthes so my wife made the call and spoke with Lisa who was great. She said not to worry, she would find a way to get someone out to help us that day. Joe showed up a few hours later and was clearly a bigger job than he expected but he knocked it out of the park. He also told me it looked like it wasn't pumped correctly the last time which was pretty disappointing to hear. As a side note Joe was driving one of the nicest septic trucks I have seen. Think it goes to show that these guys take good care of their equipment. All in all a great experience. Thanks Lisa for finding a way to squeeze us in and thanks Joe for taking care of business. John Matthes is definitely the company I will use for anything septic related going forward. No brainer, give them a try and see if you can trust the guys you are using today!

I thought that I was looking at a $20,000 fix. Due to other commitments, I also had a small window during which time I could have them help me. The receptionist was wonderful on the telephone. She said that she would reschedule some routine appointments to accommodate me and she did. The technician who came out was very knowledgeable, very pleasant and was able to clean out my tank by refilling it twice with the used water in order to remove the heavy sludge. He also helped me to figure out how to clear the lines to my gray water tank without me having to open it up. The whole experience was so much easier than I feared. I am very grateful and highly recommend these people!
