This place was incredible! I've had AWFUL experiences in the past and this dentist office and staff has changed my mind about it completely. Dr Zaku and Dr Riad are incredibly professional, courteous, and have wonderful bedside manner. The office itself is new, there are TVs, headphones, blankets, and dimmer lighting all to make you feel more comfortable. I also worked with Judy at the front desk who is kind and welcoming, as well as Jennifer the hygienist who was a joy to be around. All in all, after having fillings done by Dr Zaku herself, I have an entirely different outlook on future dental appointments. Thank you for the great experience! read more

Best dental office I've ever been to! I have been so many dental offices and had a rotation of incompetent dentists for the past few years trying to find one I can trust. I read all the amazing reviews on Oak Tree Dental, and after my first appointment with them, I finally feel like I found an office that really values not only quality dental care, but you really feel like all the staff truly cares about you. Randi was my hygienist, and she was as knowledgeable as the dentist herself (who was also so wonderful)! She was extremely thorough, gentle, and just a hoot! Randi also went over the top to accommodate my toddler as she waited for the appointment too. Everything felt very transparent and not once did I feel like I was getting sold on things I didn't need. I've been using Oak Tree Dental for several years, always getting great treatement... today's routine visit was my first at their brand new location (Poway Rd at Pomerado.) Of particular note, today's work was done by Jennifer. This was the "nicest" cleaning/polishing I can recall. I always recommend Oak Tree Dental - I had gone to other places because of location and insurance but found my way back here and am so glad. I love my hygentist Randi - so wonderful and professional. She really cares about her patients oral care as well as their personal lives. Dr. Rafik is caring and really explains issues on a level you can understand. The best part - anytime anything is wrong, whether is be a cavity or a bigger emergency the receptionists at the front will explain treatment plans and make sure you understand what you are paying for versus your insurance. I can not say enough wonderful things about this office! My family and I (a family of 10) came from Poway Family Dental. We received absolutely Horrible service here. I truly wonder if some of the "needed" services were actually needed at this office.The services received were done incorrectly and were in need of being redone. This is a long story but the moral of it is... If you value your teeth and your pocketbook DO NOT GO TO POWAY FAMILY DENTAL GROUP!!! I was at a loss of where to bring my family. Where can I go and trust that I am truly getting the care that I am paying for? Where can I go that I can trust when they say I need a certain service that I can rest assure that I actually need this service? Where can I go that the services needed will be done with the absolute best care that can be provided? We decided to try Oak Tree Dental on Poway Road. I could not be happier!!! Setting the stage: I'm retired Military and in my 50's. A couple years ago I was going to another dentist who had been saying my teeth and gums were bad. I was put on a periodontal treatment plan. My insurance only covered a small portion of it and I had to pay $$$ out of pocket on each visit! I didn't understand how my teeth were so bad, because I routinely brush and use a water pick several times a day. It just didn't make sense! They kept claiming that I wasn't brushing and flossing correctly. Then I made the decision to get a second opinion, who said same virtually the thing! I was almost convinced that I must be doing something wrong. Then I, just had too, try for a third opinion "OakTree Dental". My first visit, at OakTree Dental, was a totally different experience! They said my teeth looked like a 20yr olds! They even used the same methods of measuring my gum line, "which surprisingly", resulted in lower numbers than the two other places. I informed OakTree Dental of what aid had been going through over the past several years. They were appalled, but not surprised. All they could do was apologize and assure me that they aren't that type of Dental Office. It's apparent that there are good honest dentists and there are those who are only out to violate your trust and even more so dig deep into your pocket book! Other than a cavity, actually a filling replacement - a previous dentist must have done a poorly , I've not had anything major that I had to come out of pocket for! OakTree Dental has been my go-to-place now for going on 3 years, and what a difference it has been! I appreciate their quality work and honesty! Thank you OakTree Dental! Wow, where do I start! My body doesn't react that well to anesthesia so my whole life I've had nothing but TERRIBLE dentist experiences. My wisdom teeth were coming in and I got an infection & I was in EXTREME pain. I called them this morning desperate, looking for anyone to take me in & they were able to offer me an appointment within the hour. Going in, I was terrified, ready to go through another really painful & uncomfortable dental experience but that was not the case! The staff is very friendly & were constantly asking if they could get me water or anything to make my visit more comfortable. Once in the chair before the procedure, my legs were literally trembling from fear, but Dr.Riad made sure to check in with me throughout the whole procedure to make sure I was okay & couldn't feel anything. He made sure I was comfortable speaking up if something was bothering me. They also provided me with a blanket & headphones to watch the TV so I wouldn't have to hear everything (which is HUGE plus for me!! I hate hearing it even if I can't feel it!) It was all so painless & pleasant. He truly changed the way I feel about coming into the dentist, the whole staff did honestly. I couldn't have asked for a more positive & comfortable experience. Never thought I'd see the day where I'd give a dentist 5-stars but it's very well deserved!! I would also like to note that the office is decorated so nicely!! This is the best dentist I've ever been to. All of Dr. Riad's work has held up well. And unlike some other dentists I've gone to, he is trustworthy. All of the work he has done has clearly been necessary. And Randi is a great hygienist. She is very thoughtful, and she always gives me a very thorough cleaning. I have to give Dr. Riad and his entire staff 5 stars (but wish I could give more)! Right as COVID-19 affected all the businesses, my top, permanent retainer cracked. I became anxious seeing how no dentists or orthodontists in the entire San Diego area were open and I know my teeth are prone to shifting quickly. Out of desperation, I was talking to a co-worker and she suggested I give Dr. Riad a call. They squeezed me right before they also had to close! During my visit, I was reassured I would be taken care of as soon as business can go back to normal. Dr. Riad had a full consultation with me about my concerns and what my options were. Upon reopening of the business, they took proper measures to ensure the safety of their staff and patients by taking your temperature outside and having you fill out a questionnaire. I was finally able to have a cleaning done. My hygienist (wish I could remember her name!) was gentle but thorough and extremely knowledgeable. I appreciated her honesty about thoughts of not removing my wisdom teeth just yet (if at all). She took the time to look at previous x-rays and compared them to current photos and pointed out that there hasn't been movement for 2.5 years so it's definitely not an urgent matter. With this, I was transferred to Laura who gave me options for Invisalign since I had expressed interest in re-doing some work that wasn't addressed during my braces treatment 12 years ago and thought this may be my opportunity before having a new retainer made. After having impressions/molding done for Invisalign, I returned to review the timeline and anticipated results of what Invisalign can offer me. During this time, it was concluded that Invisalign will not fix my alignment in the way I desired. Laura's genuine honesty and approach is rare to find in a dental office. She is not only soft spoken but she is socially aware - repeating back to me my concerns and showing empathy for having my hopes let down after my excitement was built. She immediately eased my worry that I had wasted their resources and time to now possibly have to go to an orthodontist instead. The representative who works with billing and insurance (wish I knew her name as well) mentioned that my insurance did not cover another sent of pano x-rays since it was so close to my previous set. I called immediately after reading the email and, without hesitation, she removed that bill of $65 after realizing that this was addressed prior in my first appointment. No hassle, no discussion - just direct accountability and solution. I recommend Dr. Riad and his staff without reservation. The entire office is clean, extremely friendly and, well, on top of their game. Mind you, I drive from La Mesa to his office (about 25 minutes) and will continue to do so for any future appointments going forward. read more

For someone that does NOT like the dentist. i was last seen 2 or more years ago. I stopped because the previous dentist would start working before i was numb. before that same thing and was probably closer to 10 years before that. I went in for a cleaning. the hygienist was amazing she notice the hurt areas and was very careful around them, Dr came in and looked and m teeth. i need something like 3 root canals, crowns. what is great about it he shows you where the problem is and explained it to me. he asked me if i could get anything done today what would it be? i explained i didn't have money right now. he told me if cost were not a thing what would you want done. i point to the tooth that hurt the most. he asked the other dentist in the office to do a root canal and temp crown all in one visit. This was making me sick to my stomach because i was afraid. i got in the chair and started watching something on the ceiling (they have TV in the ceiling) this Dr was amazing at keeping me calm. she noticed when i would hold my breath and she would remind me to breath. she gave me a stress ball to play with(i got to keep). i started feeling stuff when they were drilling they immediately stopped and gave me more numbing stuff, before she started again she made sure i was numbed again. for someone that hates dentist they are amazing and will continue to use them. after meeting almost everyone on staff everyone from the receptionist to the head Dr. everyone was amazing... Thank you oak Tree dental because of the treatment here I'm less afraid then i was. i have a feeling the fear will be less and less as i go normally. read more

First time visiting oak tree dental for my first cleaning in almost two years (thanks Covid!). The front desk staff were very friendly and efficient and got my checked in right away. My hygienist, Jen was super sweet and knowledgeable and didn't make me feel guilty for not having visited in such a long time! The cleaning was so fast and I wasn't left alone just waiting for any length of time which was so nice! The doctor was also very friendly and quick! I came here after receiving good reviews from my husband after he went here. The staff was very kind and up until the dentist came in my experience was just fine. After the hygienist cleaned my teeth, the female dentist came in to look at some of the areas of concern I was having. She referred to my one tooth that had a hole in it as "mush" and when I mentioned I didn't like that word, she continued to use it and said "well it's mush, I don't know how else to describe it". She also claimed I needed at least two root canals which I was surprised by because my teeth weren't bothering my at all. The female dentist made me feel like I was dirty and did not have good oral hygiene. I left that day feeling very upset and bothered, so naturally I went to another dentist for a second opinion. Not once did the other dentist refer to my tooth as mush, and easily fixed the problem. They also filled two "easy" cavities and did not mention me needing a root canal at all. Luckily I went with my gut and avoided two root canals and a potentially pulled tooth. Would not go back to this female dentist again. Sad because everyone else was super nice and the facility was beautiful. read more

Hear me out. I was kinda suspicious about the 5 star rating on google and Yelp, so I had to check it out and see why they are 5 stars. When I go some where, any where I try to find something negative so I can let the public know. I went in for a check up, such x rays and see what I needed to get done. Since I was there Dr Hiba Suggested deep cleaning at the moment. I'm 29 and all my life I been going to the wrong dentist, the way I was treated was amazing!!. It's like your part of the family, also they go out of their way so much to make you comfortable. I had not eaten anything for 24 hours so I kinda of felt dizzy, they stopped and bought me food and water and so much more. I can go on and on how amazing this place is!. Dr Hiba and Laura (RDAEF) we're amazing and didn't feel any pain. I'm going to drive an hour again next week to see them!. read more

They are good place to go to but I had to reschedule an appointment. The lady in the phone just wanted to cancel it and be done. I don't seem like the real care about their coming back customer. They wanted to schedule me 6 months out away from my 6 month check up. Which I thought was crazy. If people need to get seen before their 6 months having them wait another 6 months is crazy. Didn't feel respected has to come back enough. read more
