COVID or not. This place was horrible. The website requires a credit card but they make you pay cash upon arrival. It was my first time so I didn't know where things were. Everyone was so rude. I walked in with my clubs because I wanted to go golfing and some woman at the bar accosted me because I was lost. The Greene's and fairways were so patchy, I think the rough was more lush than the fairways. I guess you get what you pay for though it was only $20 for 18 holes. read more

This place is charging $50 for twilight on the marsh course. What a rip off! Twilight should be no more than $20-$25. You can usually only get maybe 9 in after leagues...just an fyi for you guys. Also you have leagues that think they own the course. They are done with their 9 holes and just go all over the damn course. Well, when you are playing twilight, leagues should not be running like a bunch of chickens. Leagues bitch about people behind them and them and then they act like a bunch of a** holes after they done with league play. I've been playing your courses for over 10 years. No way I'm paying your prices for a not taken care of course and limited holes on marsh for $50. Also your manager Cheryl "Sharyl" however you spell it, is a p.o.s. These people don't give a crap about the COVID precautions. Barely anyone working there were wearing a mask. They talk down about the precautions and executive order to wear a mask in public places instead. Their sign states "Attention a mask is required before entering the club house. However, if you have a medical condition you are not required to wear a mask. Due to (paraphrased) Hippa (XYZ) we are not required to ask if you have a medical condition. Therefore if we see you without a mask we will assume you have a medical condition." Essentially throwing the COVID precautions out the window. Even if they did comply with the executive order to wear a mask in all public places, I wouldn't go back. The course is not in good condition at all. The fairways are literally brown and harder than rocks, or they are absolutely soaked. Really no in between. read more

It is painfully obvious they do not care about taking care of the course. When I played on 6-7-22, it was like playing in a field. The fairways, if you can call them that, were undefined at best, at worst there were no fairways just rough. The cart paths were worse than Michigan roads. We have never played a course in such poor shape. It was difficult to find a good patch of grass to hit your ball from in the fairways. The fairways were patchy and cracked. The only positive was that the greens weren't too bad. The course should not be charging full price to play. I would not even give one star but I can't post my review without it. read more

If you play here, play the Marsh Oaks side. Don't waste your time with the Old Oaks side. It's become a cow pasture and clearly the maintenance staff puts all of their time into Marsh Oaks. I played both courses here on a recent visit back to see family. Our experience the first day was not memorable - we teed off early and had no one ahead of us. The starter / ranger that day seemed friendly and I saw him a few times throughout our 18 holes. The next day we played Marsh Oaks. My threesome teed off around 2pm and the first tee was three groups deep. As it turns out, the clubhouse had told a group it was okay to play with five players - and of course, there was no starter to stop this. My group and the group directly in front of us called the clubhouse at the first tee to complain. Groups of five slow play down - period. Finally, after seven holes, they broke the fivesome up. But not before the twosome in front of us, and my threesome got into an argument with the five of them - and the ranger just sat there in his cart doing nothing. On the back nine, my mother wanted to use the bathroom and the same ranger was over there locking it up. It was only 6pm and didn't get dark for two more hours. Since he was standing there, my mother asked if he could open it for her. He rudely replied that he had already locked it and that if she wanted to use it, she would have to wait until he finished collecting the trash. Are you kidding me? So she stood there while he did his trash duties before he would unlock the bathroom for her. I will never go back here today and my family that lives in town won't either. I can't believe the clubhouse would tell a fivesome in the middle of the day that they can play together. And I cannot believe the rudeness and laziness of the "ranger" on the course. read more

One of my new favorite local course to play!! The greens were fast and the course has just the right amount of challenge for me. Club house is not fancy but the service is quick and the staff is friendly. Was told by a friend there is a Groupon deal, however the green fees w/cart is a fair price to pay. We played the Old Oaks course this afternoon and I have to say it was probably the worse course I have ever played in Michigan. Apparently their other course Marsh Oaks is much better. The price was right but still they must have saw us coming and realized we were first timers. The Old Oaks course has something very wrong with the grass......everywhere. There was not one decent fairway, although the greens were fairly well kept. Both the fairways and the cart paths are extremely bumpy. I also think we were given the oldest cart in the fleet. People it is time to retire #66. It always took a second for the motor to engage and then pretty much a jerky motion the whole time driving it. The parking break would not engage but it was rigged not to roll backwards. Not to mention no window to cut the cold wind. The course is also located next to 94 so it is noisy not peaceful if that is what you are going for. We appeared to be the only ones on the course with the exception of a single who was playing a quick round. Not that we wanted anything but the drink card didn't appear until we were on the 17th hole and the temp had dropped. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Booked a 630 am tee time on Sunday, got to the first hole at 625 and there already was a half hour backup...they way over book and I asked the guy in the clubhouse how that is possible and he totally ignored it. A 3-4 hour round turned into 5-6. You can't even consider this a golf course. It is in the worst condition I have ever seen. No fairways. More like cement covered with dirt. $43 a complete joke. read more

Played Old Oaks on 9/26/20. 2 separate outings going on the morning. Our tee time was in the afternoon. Conditions of the greens were good, no complaints there, but tee boxes were mostly dirt and fairways were 50% grass and 50% dirt or dead grass. Ponds were mostly empty out on the course. The pace of play was really slow (5.5 hours +) as they were way overbooked. We did see a "ranger" but he seemed more interested in picking up trash at each hole rather than monitoring the course. I am a 6-8 handicap and realize course upkeep can be difficult but also recognize when there is no effort being put in. The group behind us had 5 guys and 5 different carts and they had no regard for the course, driving through bunkers and not replacing divots or repairing greens when necessary. The "ranger" saw them and never bothered to confront them regarding their etiquette. Save your money and more importantly your time and sanity and avoid this place. read more

Played an end of the year round on the Marsh Oaks course at Oak Ridge. The greens are in excellent shape, but the fairways on about half of the holes leave a lot to be desired. As it was November, there were not a lot of staff around, but the ones I met were all very helpful. Would like to return in the summer to see if the course is in better shape. read more
