    Funnel cake

This fair was disappointing. In Savannah, we always have a huge fair come into town every fall and they have their own designated grassy spot. I thought this fair would be the same. It was in the parking lot and half the rides listed on their website weren't even there. I can't do the super intense rides (fear of heights and recent surgery) so we were limited to like 4 rides. The prices at the concession stands were outrageous. $6 for a small coke! It wasn't too packed when we went and I got my funnel cake and fried Oreos. This fair had a petting zoo with some exotic animals. I felt sad for all of them. Some were shaved and they all were in super small areas. At one point, Salley the camel was laying down and the worker came over and made her get up. The poor thing. :( Also sad was the seal show. I felt so bad that these seals had to perform and they had 3 to a tiny tank! The miniature horses were also made to race and a camel was made to stand up continuously on the concrete to let people ride on its back. Overall, I felt horrible for all the animals being made to work and messed with by all the children and people.

    Concert during the fair

I miss the fair! It was So much fun! I hope it comes back soon. Unfortunately, it was cancelled this year due to the pandemic. Please come back soon! #Oak Mountain Amphitheatre #OMSSF

This experience was a completely different from the last time I was here I mean don't get me wrong the fair is still fun and I had a good but this fair has gotten smaller then the last time I came here. I noticed how they pushed all the rides and food stands together making it harder for you to walk around im glad I decided to come on Sunday instead of Saturday to afford the crowd. I ended up getting the fried Oreos which were really good I friend of mine recommend them and im glad I got them don't get me wrong I had fun and I always feel like a kid again when I get to go to the fair but I just wish they left things the way it was

It's like reverting back to being a kid again that is filled with excitement every time you head to the fair. I was a little worry of how the weather would played out since Sunday was the only day I have a chance to come out here. Luckily, the weather played out to my liking since it was a nice day out. The fair don't seem as spread out like I remember and for a second there, I thought it wouldn't be as much rides out here, but they still have a lot of rides for everyone to choose from. Coming on a Sunday afternoon played out to our advantage since there wasn't hardly anyone here, but as the day progress, it started getting more crowded with customers. If you never had fried Oreos before, I would definitely recommend getting them especially if you're at the fair. The general admission just cover the entrance and shows, but if you want to get on any rides, I would suggest just getting the wrist band, but if you're not planning on riding much, they have individual tickets you can purchase at a cheaper price. The negative thing is that it cost $30 dollars for wrist band during the weekend, but if you were to come on a weekday, it's only $25 dollars. The other issues is that the rides that's listed on the website wasn't at the fair and I think they should just put the ones that's going to be there. But, at the end of the day, I still had a good time out here.

Dont waste your money. Poor selection of rides. Food stands out of most items. Rude ride operators.

My friends and a couple family members attended the farmer's market at the Amphitheater this summer…read more- and I found it to be a delightful location in Helena's Old Towne District. Local police made getting in and out of the amphitheater area easy. We got out of the car and I wandered the grounds, visited the individual farms' tables, walked through the park and children's playground areas and really enjoyed myself in the relaxing shade. The Amphitheater is an outdoor concert hall, festival grounds, movie theater and nature park. From their website (www.cityofhelena.org), it looks like they even have a "movie in the park" night throughout the summer. Although there were not any other mothers there, I met one mother who brings her children to play on the playground equipment and relax in the cool shade whenever she can as she lives nearby. The certified farmer's market meets on Saturday in the summer while school is out. I understood as a part of the farmer's market, there is a charity-of-the-week which allows local charities to meet members of their community and garner well-deserved support. The first week I visited, there was a local animal shelter offering dog baths for a donation, so there were many dogs on leashes visiting the farmer's market that day and enjoying themselves to a cool bath under the trees. The following week, we went back and were greeted by delightful young ladies from a local club, dressed in Antebellum dresses. Anyone would appreciate this location who enjoys farmer's markets, local concerts, small community events, children's playgrounds, movie in the park night, parks, trees, and shade. I'd encourage anyone to visit, bring a lunch, and have an old-fashioned picnic.

On the banks of Buck Creek, just below the dam, the site together with the stage provides a wonderful venue for people of all ages to enjoy crafts, children's activities, food, and music. There is a large playground on site and in addition to the playground was a large children's play area with slides and bounce houses and rides with unlimited access for a mere $5.00. My family and I just enjoyed the 15th annual event last weekend. This year could have been the largest crowd to date. The Helena Amphitheatre venue is unique small venue along buck creek with walking paths and ample tree cover providing shade. Established in 1999, the Helena Amphitheater Park is located at Helena's Old Town district. It is an outdoor concert hall, festival grounds, movie theater and nature park. In the spring, summer and fall it is host to many events. Aside from the music and fun, the Buck Creek Festival has become known for its charity efforts that include the star of the event: the rubber duck race. The race is held at 3 p.m. on Saturday along the banks of Buck Creek. The duck race in previous years has benefited SafeHouse of Shelby County, local schools, band boosters, the library and more. Be aware there are a few rules. Park Rules *No Dogs *No Coolers *No Alcohol *No Golf Carts or Bicycles The weather couldn't have been better, the tree cover and lack of asphalt provide comfort with temperatures in the 80s. Live music from talented artists can be heard throughout the park, children were running around playing, my wife shopped in vendor tents housing varied merchants ranging from artists, boutique owners to local stores and shops in Helena and many more. It reminds me of small intimate city stages the way it was designed to be. I even found a couple that make and sell Biltong and it was awesome! I would very highly recommend this event to anyone who enjoys being outside and live music. It's not often you find an event that is really enjoyable for the entire family.

I was excited to see the crowded parking lot when we arrived. Still ample parking was available. It's been 2 years since my last review so I had forgotten the setup. Basically you find a table (inside or outside) and they come take your order. We opted to sit inside. Our server, Madison was sooooo good! I really enjoyed interacting with her and she made this experience fantastic! She was very efficient and had a great personality. All of the staff were amazing & hardworking! I ordered a wine flight. I did good picking out 4 delicious wines. My fav was the Grenache Rose! So refreshing, crisp and just down right very satisfying! For food we kept it light. We split the Brie cranberry and almond app and I just had to try that hot honey peach cheesecake. We enjoyed both selections so much! Unfortunately, August 10th is their last day of operation. I definitely recommend supporting this local business if you can. I plan to go back to purchase some wines and also to attend events they have planned.

Wow. I cannot believe it has been 5 years since I've been here and had my accident. I decided to…read moreleave an update. Turned out, I had more than whiplash. I tore my C6/7 disc in my neck and I have been having problems since. It is a permanent injury and cannot be fixed. Original Comment: I have a minor complaint against this business. First, it is a very small fair. You can easily walk from one side to the other in under five minutes. It is mostly geared towards the little ones and bigger kids. There is a small petting zoo there, and inside the building are vendors that have their tables set up and ready to sell or advertise their product. It is a one time fee that includes everything except for the vendor tables and the games. So you can go on as many rides as you want as many times as you want. My complaint is against their safety. The rides are very rough, not smooth at all. I have been to fairs and amusement parks my whole life, so I can tell that the rides needed to be fixed up a little bit more. The workers are very lax when it comes to the rules about loose items on the rides. I watched many people get on with purses, handbags, wallets, you name it. These are extremely dangerous especially for certain rides, where, if the item falls and gets caught in the ride mechanics, it can cause serious injury or worse. I was only there for an hour when I got injured. I got on the biggest ride and halfway through, my neck was snapped forward then slammed back really hard in just under two seconds. This gave me whiplash. I cannot move me neck at all and I am in pain. What baffled me is, there were no medics on site. No med tent, first aid room, nothing. I was told that the paramedic people would be there in an hour (so two hours after opening) and I would be able to get an ice pack from them, since I could not get an ice pack anywhere. So for an hour I sat there inside the building waiting for the paramedics while my headache and pain was getting worse. The paramedics didn't even show up. I finally got a hold of someone who made a vendor improvise and make an ice pack with a hot dog bun bag. Finally having ice helped a little bit, but I was still not improving so I left after only being there around two hours. One hour having fun, then one hour waiting and hurting for help to arrive. For an event like this, you should always have paramedics on site, especially before you open. I will not be going back again.
