Everyone was consistently kind, welcoming, and helpful, with a few employees who especially stood out. Callie, one of the housekeepers, was absolutely wonderful. You could always tell when she had cleaned our room because everything felt extra fresh and well-cared for. My husband even commented on how nicely the beds were made and how much better the room felt afterward. Those small details really mattered during a long stay away from home. Aaron at the pool was always friendly and helpful with towels and anything guests needed, and another employee, Fred, regularly greeted everyone with a humble and positive attitude that made the environment feel welcoming. You could see the staff worked hard, and despite how busy things probably get, they were always kind to guests. We truly appreciated the hospitality and the people who helped make a difficult transition a little easier.

They see people every Monday from 12p-2p to administer the shot and Wednesdays from 2p-4p will observe any reaction and give paperwork accordingly. The process was timely for me. Walked in, filled out paper work and showed ID. Waited in line for maybe ten minutes (there were about five people ahead of me). They were polite and the nurse that gave me the shot was excellent; gentle and I barely felt it. Just like that I was done. Wednesday I came back. The staff was polite again and I waited another ten or so minutes to get checked (four people were ahead of me). The check went well and I got my paperwork and the process was over for me. I assume I came at a great time considering some others said there could be crowds waiting for the test, but it appears that the crew works pretty efficiently seeing each person just as long as they need to. Good luck!

The place is quite difficult to find, as there is no obvious sign. Inside is enclosed, but since it is an easy in-and-out situation, you will have no problems. Availability: The only thing that sucks about this place is the limited time. For TB it is only Mondays where they give you the test and a follow-up on Wednesdays 2-4 PM. Um..omg, the window of opportunity is soo small. For immunization it is worse. It is from 1-3 PM second and fourth Tuesday of the month. How can anyone get anything done???? However, as a state worker, I can understand as to why this is occurring. It is due to budget cuts...and further budget cuts that may or are occurring for the Department of Health. Environment: Can you spell G-H-E-T-T-O. It isn't very welcoming, however the chairs and some other things were donated by a church. That's nice! People: They are very nice. They invited my staff and I to a coffee hour, in which they displayed numerous local business and farmers' produce. It was god-a-licious good! :D Although, the staffing seemed to only be limited to two people. Parking: It can be difficult since it is shared with WIC, Public Health Nurses, and Welfare. Cost: Free

Excellent staff at the Kapolei Social Security office!…read more Every representative I've interacted with has been courteous, patient, and genuinely helpful. I've been working on handling my dad's account for quite some time now, and all three of my visits have gone smoothly. Each visit helped me better understand the process, and although the wait can be long for walk-ins, I'm grateful to have been able to get everything taken care of efficiently. When you arrive, security assists you with either the mobile check-in or entering your SSN into their system. After receiving your ticket number, you simply wait to be called. There's also a screen displaying the numbers currently being assisted. Restrooms are conveniently located nearby, and the air conditioning keeps the waiting area comfortable. I've walked in twice - the first wait was about 30 minutes, and the second was 1 hr and 40 mins. The one time I made an appointment, I was shocked when they called my number right on time! :) From my experience, those needing answers to general questions or assistance with small stuff may be helped sooner than visitors requiring account changes. Yesterday, I went to update the bank account number for direct deposit and was told I needed to go back in line since I was a walk-in. Thankfully, I was still helped as soon as a space cleared between appointment times. This was the long wait lol Overall, this is the office I'd return to whenever I need assistance with Social Security matters. Parking is plentiful, and I truly appreciate the staff's willingness to help. They seem to understand that dealing with Social Security can sometimes be stressful, and their professionalism makes the experience so much easier.

I know that the Community Center and the Leasing Office are two separate things, but I am pretty…read moresure they are both considered Hickam Communities. From personal experience, the leasing side was a pain in the butt to work with. The people at the community center have been great though! We were looking into switching into a single story home, due to medical reasons, a few months ago. The leasing office sent me paperwork that was meant to be filled out by my PCM and turned in. They didn't give me any information other then that. So when I was finally able to get an appointment with my PCM (lololol a whole other annoying issue), he looked at me like I was insane for even asking such a thing. He refused to fill the paperwork out because if he did, the powers that be would also revoke my driving privileges and wouldn't let me hold my child? Yeah, needless to say I got super emotional and gave up on our quest for a better fit home. Out of the blue the other day, I got an email from the leasing side about being on the waitlist and all this welcome to Hickam such information. I apologized for the confusion, seeing as we already live on Hickam, and asked to set up an appointment to possibly switch homes. She sent me to call the community center, and then the community center told me to just come in. Within 15 minutes I was in and out. I told the representative my story, and she got the paperwork set up right away. I know this is a long story, but I don't think the community center gets enough credit. I know there are different community centers for different neighborhoods (right?), but I just felt way less stupid finally going in to the source and getting things accomplished. And I think others are unaware of how to go about switching homes if need be. Is Hickam Communities as a whole still super confusing? Yup. I don't think they even know whats going on ha. Do I need a new PCM? Yyyeeeaaahhh, yeah I do. Is the community center perfect? Probably not. I am sure other people have stories of their own, and yeah the whole energy cap thing kind of sucks. But is that really their problem? Still confused. In my experience as a whole, the people from the community center were the kindest when moving in to our home and have been the kindest within the time that we have lived here so far. P.S. from what I understood, maintenance is run by the leasing side? So...yeah don't blame the community center for that mess. That is just dang poor management right there. I should not have to schedule an appointment for two weeks out just to not have them show up during my 4-8 hour window. Unacceptable guys.
