The seating area is tight so you will be squeezing between other diners. If you can get past this small condition you will love it. Everyone was friendly and enjoying their food. The service was friendly and quick. We ordered grilled cod fish with potato and veggies and the goat stew daily special. The cod fish meat was so tender and delicate. Very delicious and melts in your mouth. Goat stew was like home cooked meal. You can taste the love and authentic flavours. We also ordered the dry cured ham which went perfectly with the fresh bread they served. The coffee was ok but nothing to write home about. The red wine was great and we finished the half bottle with ease. We will definitely come back and try some other dishes as we love to support the small local restaurant owners. Great food with unbeatable prices.

Given the location I was definitely worried about tourist trap vibes but this place didn't give me any of that sense at all. Nothing fancy and the menu was pretty straightforward. The ambiance inside was nice and very relaxing. The fact it was also slightly off the main drag and not in the middle of the throngs of tourists (but within a very short walking distance) was also nice. It's a good place to stop by if you're hankering for a nice lunch in between your shopping or touring escapades.

My husband had the chickpea lamb stew which he thought was spectacular then he had the lamb with vegetables baked in a lavash and said it might be one of the best lamb dishes he's ever had. The menu is great because almost all the dishes have a photo with explanation. We had a wonderful wine pairing, the bottle was recommended by the owner and chef who came out to say hello. The food: my dish of cod and chick peas was amazing. At first glance, I didn't think the fish was cooked all the way through, but it was perfect. Flaky, buttery and salty. My son really enjoyed his food and dessert. My husband on the other hand wasn't crazy about his lamb. He said it didn't taste like lamb, it had a peculiar taste to it and he didn't think it was a lamb, but maybe a kid which has a completely different taste. I am not a fan of lamb, and I did try it too, and have to admit it's funkier then I have tasted in the past. At the end, my husband said it was the best tasting €40 something tasting potatoes (which came with the dish). When the guy came over to clear the table (not our waiters) he asked how was everything and my husband told him the better lamb was not my favorite or maybe something like, I've had better. He then asked what he meant by it, and my husband told him, I don't think that was lamb-to which he shrugged and walked away with the dishes. Ok?? So, when our waiter came and asked for anything else like dessert or coffee there was no mention of-hey they told me you didn't like the lamb, nor did my husband mention it again, because once said should have been enough. Well, we got dessert paid and left. Aside from that, all was pretty good.

Waited less than 30 minutes before being sat and as a bonus, we got to pick from two tables. One near the kitchen and the other near the register. Both highly trafficked, but with this quaint location, there wasn't much of an option. Pretty much a tapas bar with only a limited beer and wine menu. Loved the wall artwork plastered allover. Even the toilet was graffiti encouraged. I got the house red while my wife got the filtered house water (not free but cheaper than the bottled ones). Our small plates were: 1. CFC (Cesar's Fried Chicken) which was a tender deep fried chicken stuffed with Cesar's salad dressing and smothered in parmesan. 2. Grilled Spanish Octopus. Still drooling about how succulent and flavorful this lone tentacle was. 3. Chips with steak pepper sauce. First time having DF potatoes with black pepper sauce and it was one for the books. 4. Carrot Cake with chocolate sauce. Wife's choice. T'was another winner. We wanted to come back for this dessert alone but sadly time limitations happened. This is our second time in Lisbon and I'm kicking myself for not discovering this hole-in-the-wall the first time.
