It got busy quickly with a waiting list. Prefix dinners - I got the famous chicken and my wife got the fish. It came with a generous appetizer, see pictures. My wife also got the chocolate mousse dessert. Overall the food was okay. My wife's entree was probably the better of the two. Ambiance - Small local restaurant. Tables squeezed next to each other with very little space in between. One unisex restroom. I did not use it, as our hotel was very close. I washed my hands at the hotel before coming here. I don't see courgette much in the US so I'm glad I tried it. For the mains, we had the local trout and the braised pork cheeks with polenta. The trout was fresh, and paired nicely with a variety of different veggies. The stew was very warm and hearty and also not too salty. For dessert, we tried the tiramisu which was tasty but nothing to write home about. The waitress that served us was very friendly as well! Overall, a fantastic experience. First of all, they're super convenient, open crazy hours by Socialist standards and they are centrally located (by Saleya open-walkway) and close to everything with indoor and outdoor seating. Excellent and attentive service as well. So why four (4) stars and not five (5)??, welllll, the first time we ordered calamari - we got a really small basket (please see my pic). During the second visit, we ordered calamari again and got a gigantic serving (please see my pic), it was at this point when we realized that we got ripped off the first time!! But it's all good, we enjoyed all of our food and the different types of pizza. Remember, Nice was once upon a time, called Nizzi. Until Italy gave Nice France, without a single gun shot or canon ball. I say Italy got ripped off like I got ripped off with the first calamari portion. :) I say all that to say - there are many Italians here in Nice and they know how to make Italian food and Neapolitan style pizza.
