One $20 Battery Replacement Turned Into a Potential $450 Key Replacement Disaster I went to this location to purchase two new key fob batteries. What should have been a simple, inexpensive task turned into an incredibly stressful and potentially very expensive experience. During the installation, I had to walk away twice because the employee was struggling to open my key fob and was visibly scratching it in the process. While installing the second battery, he broke something off inside the fob. The next morning, my Honda would not start when I tried using that key. I was already short on time and trying to get to work, and I panicked. I had to call my boss, and my class ended up being canceled. I then tried the other key out of desperation. I mean, why would one key start my car if the other wouldn't. IT WORKED!!!! When my husband called O'Reilly, he was told that rice sized piece that had been broken off would prevent the vehicle from starting. They quickly knew what had happened...almost like they commonly have this issue. The proposed solution? O'Reilly could order a replacement key fob for approximately $200, but we would have to find somewhere else to get it cut. After I got angry that they would brake it, and then casually suggest we could pay for it! My husband called back and was told to instruct me to bring both key fobs into the store. When I returned and explained what had happened, two male employees quickly retreated to the stockroom, leaving a female employee to tell me that I would need to pay approximately $200 for a replacement fob and then go across the street to have a mobile locksmith cut the key. When I asked for a manager, I received no meaningful assistance. I went across the street to speak with the mobile locksmith. As soon as I explained that I had brought my key fobs to O'Reilly Auto Parts for battery replacement, he immediately finished my sentence with the type of damage. His quoted price to replace the key at $250. Let that sink in. I went to O'Reilly for two inexpensive batteries and ended up facing approximately $450 in potential replacement costs, on top of the $20 I had already paid. I also lost a work opportunity because my vehicle would not start with the key that had been serviced. I understand that mistakes can happen. What is unacceptable is the lack of accountability and meaningful assistance when a customer returns with a problem that appears to have resulted from the service performed. I did not go to O'Reilly Auto Parts to purchase a new key. I went there to replace two batteries. I left with a damaged key, a vehicle that would not start with that key, a canceled class, and a potential bill of hundreds of dollars. **I want O'Reilly Auto Parts to take responsibility for what happened and provide a reasonable resolution.** Customers should not have to pay hundreds of dollars to correct damage caused while having a simple battery replacement performed. Based on my experience, I would not trust this location again. Which sucks... cause they were my goto auto store. read more

Hello and good greetings to the O'Reilly personnel. I have had the privilege to experience the services from the Menifee location specifically 25894 Newport Rd, 92584. This location has been not only the utmost presentable, professional and the most patient with one to one service however, I have had the pleasure throughout many years of hardship within my company "Element Automotive Mobile Refinishing" and a young man named Rudy definitely deserves a Medal of Honor within your company for not only his customer service, but his professional at work one on one attention that comes with an extraordinary amount of knowledge. read more

I would like to give Rudy a great shout out and was outstanding on customer service. I went there on Halloween to get supplies to change the oil in my Suburban and to dump some old oil. Rudy had a great attitude and was always smiling. We even made small talk that was refreshing since there seems to be a lack of social skills in the customer service field in todays society. I will be back and hope Rudy is there when I do. Thanks for making my experience top notch. read more

I purchased a battery from this location in July of 2022. On 2-6-2023 it was completely dead and couldn't be jump started. I took it back and was surprised at how poorly I was treated by Scott. He proceeded to ask me when the last time was that the battery had been used. I explain on Sat when I went to work. It's now Mon. He got the tester and said "this thing is completely dead, like it's never been used". I responded with "I know, that's why I'm here." He continued to question me as if I was try to do something other than apply the warranty that comes with the battery. He I formed me that next time they wouldn't be as accommodating. Excuse me?!?!! So I asked if replacement was what the warranty was for. He replied yes but that he's only doing me a favor exchanging it quickly because he knew I was on my way to work. I'm going to call this one how I see it....if I was a man coming in with a dead battery, purchased from this very location in July, still under warranty, I wouldn't have been grilled with 20 questions. Too bad the associate that helped me when I purchased it initially wasn't there, he was awesome!!! read more

Last week I noticed that my battery was behaving poorly. I drove to O'reilly's after work and was helped by Michael and Herman. Herman was fairly new and I guess he was under the guidance of Michael. After testing my battery and confirming my suspicion that it needed replacing, they went ahead and actually switched it out for me. I was pleasantly surprised by their willingness to go the extra step to do that. I told them that I really appreciated their help and their work ethic. Those two guys are an asset to the company. Good job guys!! read more

I went to O'REILLY'S auto parts on last Sunday. I was looking for a cabin air filter. Most auto parts stores have books so you can look up the part number and get it off the shelf yourself. Not here! Their were 4 people waiting in front of me to get service. I left and went to auto zone across the street. In and out within 10 minutes. I used O'REILLY'S in O.C. and they were great. Not here. I'm switching to Auto Zone read more

Went to this auto parts to replace my dying car battery. The moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and acknowledged right away despite the business of the store. Johnny checked and recommended a good replacement battery and even recommended something for the "corrosion". He then changed the battery and cleaned the corrosion for us! Thanks so much for the help and amazing service, Johnny! From now on, You guys will be our go to place for auto parts and service! read more

O'Reilly Auto Parts - Thanks so much for the help and amazing service, Johnny! - Auto Parts & Supplies Near Me - Menifee, California

Alright don't get me wrong, I love O'Reilly's, but to go in and ask to get you're check engine light checked after being under the assumption that all O'Reilly's do it as a free service (literally posted in the window) to have the associate tell me "no, we don't do that" I ask "wait what? Why? It's posted in the window" to get the answer "it's broken" WHAT?! YOU LITERALLY HAVE MORE OF THOSE TO SELL IN STOCK! If you got someone who really wasn't having it you'd have a false advertisement lawsuit on your hands but it's not worth my God damn time. The associate literally told me to go to AutoZone.... I'm baffled. The associate that gave me this answer was an older gentleman. I'll try another Oreilly's but this used to be my favorite location too. So sad. read more

I went to return some Allen wrenchs because I had the wrong ones and cynthia had worst customer service I've ever exprieced in any auto store I've ever been into. She made a joke out of me and said "well are you gonna set em down? So we can go somehwere with this" very rudly while her co worker tall older man grey hair laughed with joy to keep the joke alive. Went into this store twice, yesterday while it was pouring rain! Austin, once again, was so happy to help, I told him I didn't want him to put on my windshield wipers because it was pouring rain outside but he insisted, telling me he had no problem, he said multiple times,"I don't mind getting wet", he was just being the sweetest human being! Austin always has a big smile and is always going above and beyond for his customers! I could ask for a better auto store or customer service! read more

My wife was at the grocery store in the same parking lot as O'Reilys Autoparts in Menifee, CA and upon her return to her car she found that the battery was dead. One of the gentlemen at O'Reilys inspected the battery and, even though it was new and purchased somewhere else, he charged it sufficiently for her to get to the auto parts store where she purchased it. Thank you for your kindness in helping out my wife! Best regards! read more
