NAPA Auto Parts - Catlett Automotive NAPA - $69.99 retail? If you're gonna have a price like that on an air chuck then that outrageous price should be marked on the display!

While on a car rally in central Kansas I had an impact on my core support which tore my radiator…read moreopen. I was able to source the radiator from Catlett and made arrangements to pick up. I had another driver take me the 45 miles to get it. (And I was happy just to have found one). I impulse threw in a tire inflator that was displayed at the counter. No price was displayed and I did not immediately itemize my receipt due to the pressure of having to repair my vehicle. When I returned home I happened to look at the receipt and saw that I was charged 54.67 for a grease coupler. I had thought it was a simple misidentification and called to clarify my actual purchase and get a charge back. The manager Bob went through the trouble of going back and viewing security footage of me purchasing, which I never disputed, and telling me the solution was for me to return it to the store. I live 1769 miles away. An air chuck for 54.67? They thankfully had given me a wholesale discount because the grease coupler was 69.99 retail but to not be given any sort of explanation or justification seems crazy to me. If it's really that expensive and the description is just entered wrong into the computer, then fine, but I was criticized by Bob for not analyzing my receipt at the time of purchase. It's hard to believe that this air chuck is actually that expensive and Bob claimed he had no way to scan and actually justify the cost because he had no others in stock . Ya gotta know that was a lie. There's always a way for a retailer to establish a cost.

DRIVERS BEWARE!! As…read moremuch as I hate to blast a small business on Facebook, Schroll's Body and Paint has gone out of its way to prompt this post. Background: two years ago I had a repair done in which Schrolls repaired this fender flare - including the messed up/mismatched paint. Fast forward two years, and I am back for another repair to the same side. When the repairs were complete (the second picture) this is what they gave back to me as "repaired." When I complained, Chance (the owner) told me that I could pay out of pocket or get a supplemental claim and they would fix it. When I followed up to get this OBVIOUS problem corrected, they refused to do the work. Yesterday, I recieved this message from the shop: "After reviewing the photos we took of your Jeep in February, we have decided to return the check to XXXXXX since it clearly did not match before we did repairs in early April. We are not interested in doing anymore repairs to your vehicle. You can talk to your insurance about sending the check to a different body shop. Thank you, Ashley Cottrell" This company is always free to refuse service to anyone, but they are not allowed to do shoddy work, promise to make it right for more money, and then refuse the work AFTER ackowledging the problem needing repair. __________________________________________________ Summary: - the Jeep color is standard 1990 jeep metallic khaki (Chrysler paint code PJ5/HJ5) and should have been easily matchable - Schrolls did the work that resulted in the mismatched paint the first time. - Schrolls replaced the molding with an aftermarket molding that does not match up with the original by 1/4 of an inch AND it is improperly mounted/mated to the step molding. - Schrolls failed to blend the right wheel molding with the step molding - Schrolls committed to completing/fixing the work upon completion of a supplemental claim. - Schrolls refuses to correct their substandard work after accepting payment for that substandard work. Regardless, all anyone really needs to know is that the owners of Schrolls Body and Paint ALLOWED/APPROVED this work out of their shop AND defended their use of ill-fitting aftermarket parts, misaligned molding, and mismatched paint - AND THEN refused to fix their shoddy work WHILE keeping the insurance payment. Caveat emptor

I would never wish anyone to need a body shop; however, if you do need a body shop; I strongly recommend Schroll Body and Paint. My pickup actually looks better today than it did before my accident.
