I brought in a UPS (APC, model Back-UPS XS 1500), because it had started making an abnormal noise. I figured it meant it's battery life was almost over and soon there would be no more little electrons working to store energy. I was really surprised when "Anthony" started taking it apart right then and there (I figured I was going to have to leave it for them to work on later). He troubleshot the problem, confirming that yes, one battery inside the UPS box was almost completely shot, and the other one was failing too. He had the batteries I needed in stock, replaced them both, and then verified everything was working correctly. He only charged me for the price of the new batteries. At a cost of $36.99 per battery, the savings of replacing the two batteries versus buying a new replacement UPS amounted to approximately 80%! I went this morning to replace a battery I bought in August 2022 with a 30 month warranty. The guy told me I only had a month left, I got to the place and another person was having the same issue. Apparently in 2022 they were selling batteries that needed to be filled with water 2-3 times a year, they had a crappy sign on one of the registers but nothing in writing in the invoice they gave me back in 2022 and told me to hold on to. The employees there said my sale was done by the general manager Guillermo Esparza and that he never makes mistakes telling the clients about the water needed to be refilled. I asked to talk to Esparza but the two employees are prompt to tell me he wasn't there. One of them had my invoice and without me even noticing, wrote on it "warranty voided 12/16/25 and his signature. If they were doing things legally, it was no need to write anything on my back. Got a hotel for the night and hit Auto Zone first thing in the morning for a check engine light scan. I've never had such GREAT COMFORTING customer service. He walked me through how to do the DIY scan (wasn't hard but I've never done it), he checked on me multiple times outside as I was attempting to change my coil/spark plug on the side of the building. Just about everything went "wrong" mainly because I had no idea what I what I was doing or that my tools weren't the right size but I was giving it the college try. The last time he came out I was sitting under my hood bawling my eyes out, I just wanted to go home but no mechanic shop was open and I was getting no where on my own. I had two dogs at a hotel, only 4 hours to drive, alone in a small unfamiliar town ... I was a wreck under that hood on the phone with my dad. He told me and my dad that he also has a daughter who travels a lot and that we were going to figure something out. He called a few local guys, even family to try and assist me. He pulled through and found someone to help me and I was back on the road in no time. I would have probably had to stay another night in Deming if it wasn't for this customer service! I should have thanked the man a million times more before I rolled out of town.
