My check engine light (CEL) came on recently and I was worried about it. I was able to go to this…read moreparticular autozone late at night because their hours allowed me to do so. As I walked in, the courteous manager at the front had asked someone else to get the code for my CEL. The man checking for the code had told me it's something to do with my catalytic converter. He had said that there is probably just some build up in it since my car was running fine. I was thinking at that point to take it to my mechanic. When I went back inside I decided to pick up some windshield wiper fluid on my way out. The manager then had asked me what the CEL code was for and I had told him. He then suggested I get some seafoam fuel additive. He said that this stuff works wonders and it was highly recommended to him. At first I thought maybe he was just a good salesman (which he was) but I thought that it couldn't hurt to try. So I tried it. Added it to my gas tank. Drove it for about half a day and then at night on my way home from work the CEL dissappeared! I am very satisfied with the results. On other occasions this particular manager also had helped me with other things too; brakes, spark plugs, batteries, ect. He really seems to know what he is talking about. If you need help putting a part on your car they will come right out to your car and assist you. I recently bought some radiator hoses and a new radiator for a 2000 Sebring. The hoses- 5 feet of 3/8" and a custom hose for the car ran me about $30 total. The radiator was about $100. Spending $100 - $200 on car parts from here is much more reasonable than having someone do it for you for about ten times the cost. I also love to sneak over here after an oil change and save about half the cost of getting your air filter replaced by the lube shop. I'll probably come back here if I have any need for car parts again - and with a Sebring that has 176,000 miles on it, that will likely be soon.
