I am so grateful for him. He is so professional yet so kind. He is not yet jaded treating me his patient as a number. But rather as a person with a very scary heart episode that happened. He not only explained things thoroughly so I can understand them completely but again. He's compassionate detailed with his explanation. And I left his office was not only gratitude but also a 1000% confidence. If I do need surgery in the future i'm above and beyond blessed and lucky to have him as my docto He was on time he spent plenty of time with me and I truly feel like he listened to every word. I said and again was so compassionate. When explained things to me so I could truly understunlike the majordan of doctors today. He didn't show me my monitor results, explain to me any findings, talk through theories of what has been going on with my heart, nothing. He came in, used a stethoscope, then said he didn't see anything, and dismissed me mid-sentence lol. I am not exaggerating. I was in the middle of asking him about the results and he straight up shook my hand and started leaving the room. What??? I have been struggling with scary heart issues for two months now and was finally going to see this cardiologist and get things sorted out, and I was dismissed mid-sentence. He spent maybe 3 minutes with me tops, barely said a thing and then practically ran out of the room. I was so, so disappointed. He basically said for me to see my general doctor, and I said "MY doctor told me he didn't know what was going on and to see YOU, a cardiologist!" You can understand how one would leave an appointment like this feeling hopeless. BUT just know that the staff at this facility, not him, he's terrible, but the staff are incredible, helpful and so knowledgeable! He goes far beyond what we normally expect as service from a cardiologist. I had an appointment with him in February where I was complaining that I had had 2 cat scans done by another doctor to assess reasons for impaired kidney function. I had been waiting for almost 3 weeks to hear anything about the results of the scans. I told Dr. Johnson that I was worried and the other doctor was not available every time I tried to contact the office. Dr. Johnson immediately pulled up my Dignity file and was able to review the scans. It appeared that I had a mass on my pancreas. Dr Johnson immediately scheduled me with the only GI specialist in Santa Cruz who could perform an endoscopy for me. That doctor was a Sutter/Stanford doctor. Dr. Johnson personally got the approval for me to have the Endoscopy procedure performed within 2 days. The results of that test confirmed the suspicions of the doctors. I have pancreatic cancer. Now I will have to fight with my insurance company to send me to Stanford (32 miles from home) rather than UCSF (92 miles from home and family). If not for Dr. Johnson seeing the mass on my early cat scan, I have no way of knowing how long this cancer would have had to grow and threaten my life. I owe my life to Dr. Johnson.
