Not only was my delivery date postponed by a week, but everything arrived beat up and the furniture was crudely put together and missing hardware. Every piece of furniture also has a chip or ding. Not even done looking through my stuff and I dread what I haven't found yet. Nobody has returned my calls regarding the terrible service either. Would give less than one star. read more

On a Scale of 1 to 10, Patrick and O'Flaherty's M&S gets 100 STARS! Patrick came to my house and we had so much fun going thru the rooms. Then he gave me a great quote and his Cell # and scheduled my Move 2 hours North to upstate NY. On Moving Day, Danny, Manny & PATRICK showed up to pack me up. I had to go to work so left them all in my home to pack & lock up. Danny & Manny were the Best. So kind, helpful & respectful. They couldn't do enough for me. They met my husband upstate and that's where my husband fell in love with them. When the truck got to Mahopac, the quote had actually gone down significantly. Honest with NO SHENANIGANS Lol. They moved us to Florida. The one item, a three-year-old 65 inch TV, we requested that they pack because we thought that it was too risky for us to pack ourselves, arrived broken. The TV was only three or four years old and they offered us $200 to replace it. The workers there are very nice, however, we were extremely disappointed regarding their response to damaging goods. I've never had reason to review a moving company before. Frankly, I never found any of them to be very good, but saw them as necessary evils. O'Flaherty Moving and Storage, owned and operated by Sean O'Flaherty, was the exception to all exceptions. When you call O'Flaherty for an estimate for your move or your storage needs, who do you get to come and assess the job? Mr. O"Flaherty himself. A big, warm, loud, friendly bear of a guy steps into your home and not only takes stock off your needs, but fills you with suggestions for packing that not only protect your belongings but condense and compress your things for the most effective handling of them. He will show you how to pack books in a way that protects their spines. He will educate you on how best to fill a carton for its best integrity and how to keep your boxes square and solid. And, if you need the company to pack for you they do that with amazing aplomb. His crews are amazing. Courteous and affable, and everything they do is geared to protect your stuff better than you would have yourself. I can't say enough about these guys--every one of them were fast, careful and thorough. You can't irritate them. Even the most awkwardly shaped, heavy, and ungainly things they handle in such a way to protect them far better than you would ever think to suggest yourself. They work tirelessly and impeccably, almost as though they were hedging for a generous tip. But I assure you that is not their motivation. Still, when you see the solid performance, you can trust me on this--you will WANT to overtip each man and you will do it with a smile. O'Flaherty's motto is "No shenanigans," and no truer words have ever applied to a business that I know of. O'Flaherty is simply the best I've ever dealt with, in every facet of a move. My family basically arranged for me to move and was told that each piece I had would be charged. I never heard of a moving company that charged per piece when I personally checked other companies out. Then when I got into my new place, the bill was astronomical. Not to mention when I unpacked my stuff to find quite a bit of it severely broken. They put some of my stuff on their truck that I asked them not to. Not to mention they had five men, when this only required the job of three. My mom who had three times more than me had only three men moving her stuff. And they broke so much of her stuff. They were the worst. It's a father and son company. I spoke w the son Patrick o'flaherty many times. He wrote down my credit card number but not the date. I called many times to confirm and he said yes, it's good we're on. No one showed, when called they said it's not on. And it's my fault bc I spoke to Patrick while he was out of the office. My daughter in law called the office the Wednesday before thanksgiving and was told by the girl that they will call back with s time for the move. No one called back. The crew was unprofessional and incompetent. My brand new $2K couch was "too big" to get in to my apartment. The very next day I learn that my neighbor has the same exact couch and had no issue with their movers. Then the guys stain the fabric on my bed which could not be cleaned even after having a crew from Stanley Steamers come and look. I spoke to the owner and he didn't compensate me for the damage to my bed or my couch that had to be discarded after the crew couldn't figure out how to get it in my apartment. DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! We are family! You heard it FAMILY!!! They moved us and broke many of our things. They lost/stole items including a wheel barrel and my husbands hand truck. Who knows what else we are missing??? They split our delivery up into two shipments to accommodate customers who were not family and then charged us 25% more from what they originally quoted us!! If they treated family like this how do you think they will treat you? Worst moving company ever! read more

Not happy at all with this company. They were hired to bring office furniture to my house. The desk was too big and they were too tired to take it apart to bring it in the basement. So they left it in the garage to be dealt with by someone else. The desk was in 3 parts and 2 of the 3 were in the basement. I had to call a carpenter who needed the screws that were used to remove the 2 of the 3 parts to the desk. Of course they were missing. Apparently they were too tired to bring them on their truck. I hired a carpenter who took 1/2 hour to take apart the desk and bring it to the basement. They were people who knew what they were doing. These movers knew how to do it after being in the business for many years but just didn't want to do it. They got paid anyway. They were not too tired to take money. One mover I will never use or recommend. read more

We had a lot of stuff to move. Only a glass pitcher broke. They did lose the power cord for my flat screen TV. I called Sean twice but he never returned my call. I wound up having to buy a new set because I could not find a compatible cord in any local store. That added over $800 to the cost of the move. I was quoted 1600-some-odd dollars for the price of the move, which I knew was a low ball quote... I wound up being charged $2600.00! On the plus side, they were on time, and the crew really was very courteous, very professional, very careful, and really did break their butts. If I could give negative stars I certainly would. DO NOT HIRE THIS MOVING COMPANY. They hire the most unprofessional foul mouthed, disrespectful people to run their crew. Not only were we reprimanded for having "too much to move" because the lead guy John was tired from working the day prior, but they refused to take all of our items, stating they might break or they were not on his list. John cursed non stop throughout the day in front of my child and threw his cigarette butts all over my driveway at both the house I sold and I was moving to. He refused to take the pool table, leaving my husband and son to have to disassemble it. Mirrors weren't taken. Fragile items weren't taken. John ended up at the wrong house and yelled at me repeatedly on the phone telling me I didn't know where I was moving to!! Ridiculous. I even bought the crew lunch and I was scoffed at. I paid the over inflated bill $900 over quoted price, because John was getting angry at the end and we had to rent a van in the middle of all this to get the rest of our stuff out. Upon getting back home at midnight, exhausted, we found that furniture had been damaged, walls were damaged in my newly painted home, and nothing was put back together. I called the owner Sean more than 4x in the following days to discuss what happened and hope to resolve it amicably. I was told he would call me back. He never did. He doesn't care. Do yourself a favor and hire any other moving company than this one. There are plenty to choose from. Wish I had! read more

Unfortunately, due to getting settled in our new home, this review is a bit late, but necessary for me to write nonetheless. I can't say enough about Pat and his crew re. our move. They arrived on schedule in pouring rain! They protected everything and were as careful as anyone could be. They adhered to our contract and wouldn't leave until we were completely satisfied. No damage to anything and they would do anything we asked. After reading some reviews of other movers, we were certainly worried. I'm happy to report that they were true to their motto of "No Shenanigans"!! You won't be sorry with O"Flaherty!! read more

I worked with 2 guys from O'Flaherty's and was very happy with their work as well as service. They had a great attitude throughout the day which is very impt during a tedious move. I am not sure what their pricing is so I can not comment on that. I will be booking with them for my next move as their service was 5 stars. read more

Have used these guys three times to move. Punctual, efficient and overall nice guys. They wrap everything up safely, take apart your bed, sofa, etc and put it all back together correctly (and they place your furniture wherever you want it in the new place). They give you as many wardrobes that you need to hang your clothes in. One star off for problems getting ahold of them for quotes, information, etc. But, they're a small company, and I believe the owner does some of the moving jobs too, so he's usually out. I'd use them again if we needed to move (a 4th time!). read more
