I stopped in over the weekend because I was looking for Mrs. Meyer's Acorn Spice hand soap. I called the University location because they're closer to where I live, but the helpful woman who answered the phone, told me that the Beaver location was the only one of their stores that had this particular scent. So, I headed over here but I couldn't find that scent. A young employee asked me if I needed help and I told him my plight. He checked and said they had six in stock somewhere in the store. He went to look for them. A short time later he came back with someone who I assume was the manager. He assured me they were looking for it. They just didn't know where in the store they were. After some time later he told me he couldn't find it but he offered to take my name and phone number and would call me if they found it. I thought that was very nice of him to do that. I've never had any store manager do that before. I was very impressed. In fact, when I haven't been able to find a product in most big box stores and ask an employee for help, they usually give up after 30 seconds and tell me they must not have it if it's not on the shelf and don't even check in the back for me. But my visit wasn't a total loss because I found my all-time favorite Mrs. Meyer's hand soap there--the Iowa Pine scent. I felt like I struck gold. I have never been able to find any of the seasonal scents (which are way better than their regular scents) in any of the big box stores like Target. When I looked on the shelf here I even saw more seasonal scents than I've ever seen before. I was in hand soap heaven! I was very impressed with how clean and bright the store was. They have a large selection of Yeti tumbers and coolers, too. I love this store! I wish I could give this review 6 stars. These guys know the true meaning of excellent customer service; something that is sorely lacking in most stores these days. I will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

This location is so convenient but so understaffed. They only ever open one cash register and I had to load my own mulch (10 bags) a couple weeks ago. They are very helpful when you asked where things are though. They always have what I need! Helpful tip to management, please stop asking if we want to round up to the nearest dollar to go towards the miracle network. Most people come in several times a day when they are working on projects and we don't want to be asked every time and feel guilty several times over for saying no. I prefer to give to charity in other ways than when I buy mulch. read more

I love my neighborhood hardware store! Every time( seriously-every time) I walk in the door I'm personally greeted and asked if I need any help with anything. They always direct me to the right aisle, they always answer my questions and so far they've always had what I need! Because of them, I've been able to repair a cupboard door, fix my garage door, stop the cold air from getting in the basement and perfectly match several cans of paint. I wouldn't go anywhere else! I had the worst customer service in the last year here today. There computer crashed during a transaction, it happens but it took them 15 minutes to confirm it did not go through. Then they made me wait 10 minutes in line, again. When I politely complain both the manager on duty and cashier gave me blank looks. What should have taken, 5 min total took 35 minutes. This is a great neighborhood hardware store. I have been coming in for the past four months (2014) and have received amazing service. There is always someone who will quickly direct you to the right aisle or assist you in finding what you're looking for. I have had spare keys made in no time flat. I have had paint mixed just about as fast. When I couldn't find poison-free bug magnets, they ordered them online and called me within the week to let me know I could pick them up. They frequently have sales, so you can get some amazing deals (ie., AC/furnace filters 3/$9.99!). This is my go to hardware store and I highly recommend them. This store is close enough for me to walk to and I love it. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and you can usually purchase exactly what you want without having to buy a packet or box with more than you need. They usually greet you when you walk in and will offer help and assistance for your project needs. Checkout lines can be backed up at times when a group of customer find what they need at the same time, but they are usually quick to open another register if the line gets long. read more

The greatest customer service I have ever received! I went in to buy a Big Green Egg. The store manager (Ryan) was very helpful and knowledgeable on helping me make my decision. He went above and beyond in explaining pros and cons. This is where it gets even better. Ryan was out of an add on that goes with the egg and he offered to go pick it up at another store and bring it to my house! He then got to my house and saw the Big Green Egg in the back of my truck and offered to help me carry it and set it up on my deck! Everybody I ran into in the store that day was super helpful. Best neighborhood hardware store!! Always helpful and knowledgeable. Staff recently helped me with an outside faucet leak problem. Took the pieces into the store and they put the new parts together for me which allowed for quick installation at home. No more leak! read more
