    Nutella and strawberries
    Kevin N.

The staff wasn't necessarily the friendliest and the pancakes were just okay. They took a long time to take my order and there were at least 4 tables also waiting to have their order taken. I got a blueberry pancake with nutella and strawberries. The pancake was dense and not super light and fluffy. They do give you a lot of strawberries which is fantastic. My warning is make sure you specify if you want 2 or 4 pancakes because they will default to 4. I thought two was a lot and wished I had someone to share it with.

We went to O Diplomata because the place across the street didn't even acknowledge us for over 10 minutes. Unlike that unmentionable place, the server came over right away and we ordered our drink and meal (2 Brunch #1 for 6 euros). There were a few occupied tables and we could see they were waiting for their food as well. This is one of those tiny place where the server is also fixing the plates. We waited (legitimately) for 45 minutes before we had anything to eat or drink. We asked for our juice of the day and we got it with our food. I don't understand why it took so long. The food was ok, I guess. The pancakes were sweet. We paid and left. It was really irritating to have to wait that long for food that can be prepared in less than 15 minutes. What give, O Diplomata?! I don't think I'd return.

    Smoothie Bowl, Dragonfruit Pancakes

Yum! The line was super long but the panini made it worth the wait. The chicken panini was well seasoned and delicious. I enjoyed the dragonfruit purée for the pancakes- I hadn't eaten something like that before but the flavor isn't as strong as I thought it would be. The pancakes aren't particularly fluffy sadly, they have more of an egg based, flat texture. (The pancakes at Zenith are much fluffier if you're into that). Nevertheless, I enjoyed the pancakes but wish they came with syrup as the purée wasn't too sweet. The fruit was super fresh though! The smoothie bowl I would skip if offered the chance again- it's kinda lukewarm. I don't know if it's because I'm American but I expected it to have blended ice in it, like a chilled, cold smoothie bowl. It felt like drinking a smoothie soup lol. I enjoyed O Diplomata though, the staff were incredibly friendly!

Love it! + perfect deco, great pancakes, super relax ambience, nice music - closes at 20:00

Simple pancakes with hot chocolate topping, banana and granola. With strawberry lime juice.

A very beautiful, clean, modern cafe on a street opposite Igreja das Carmelitas…read more When I entered and shared that I had a reservation, which I booked through The Fork, the server who greeted me seemed confused and unsure, and told me that it probably wasn't confirmed by the manager. Fortunately after checking in it further, she was able to give me a table in the back. It took awhile for someone to take my order, and when I ordered a flat white, they informed me the machine was broken, and they only had filtered coffee. Certainly a disappointed but, hey, stuff happens. I figured I'd just get a coffee elsewhere afterwards. I ordered the Wild Eggs, and the dish came out at a reasonable pace. It was tasty, but not the best I've had in Porto so far -- the bread was stale, so the crust was so crunchy and tough that it was hard to chew. It was a good sized portion, though, so I had leftovers to take away. However, no one came back to check on me or to see if I needed the check. The servers seemed busy with other tables, and I can understand, it's a busy, popular restaurant. But I got the sense I was an annoyance, and they couldn't be bothered with me. Which I also get, because tourists aren't super welcomed by locals in Portugal. Though I've felt much more welcomed in other establishments during my stay, so it wasn't very comfortable for me here. The location, atmosphere and food is what kept this from being 2 stars, but given that the prices are on the higher end, it wouldn't be my first choice of places to revisit.

Sadly the sweet potato were cut like french fries, but were soggy. If presented as a hash or home fries, I'd probably would have been ok with it. Glad we tried the francesinha though!

A few friends recommended I come here and thank god they did because it is perfection. It is a cute, cozy, trendy cafe for breakfast/lunch/coffee and everything is locally and organically produced...need I say more? Oh and their WiFi password made me love it even more (it's Lorelei Gilmore!) and they have "the gentlewoman" magazines sprawled out along their "bar top" counter. Best place ever. I ordered the scrambled eggs with chive and parm and it was served on a piece of delicious bread, as well as an iced latte with oat milk. Everything was amazing! I can't say enough good things about this spot. It's adorable, the service was fantastic, and it's just a little slice of heaven in Porto. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Porto!

I ordered at the counter, and they served my cortado and food shortly after. The coffee was great and came in the cutest little mug. I got the bread + egg + manchego + bit of butter, and it was SO much food, I'll have enough for breakfast tomorrow. I feel very self-conscious as a tourist in Portugal, so at least supporting a local place like this relieves a small amount of my guilt. Go relieve some guilt there, too.
