Busy little place. Self seating so as soon as you see a table move quick. You order then they give you a number, bring you your food and when you're ready you take your number to the register. The food was awesome very tasty and very fresh. The coffee was good too. I could have come back later in the day too it was that good. Definitely a place to check out while in Porto.

We ate breakfast here almost every day for the month we lived in Porto. Fantastic value and quality!

It's not every day that you feel like you're walking onto a period film set that harkens back to an…read moreelegantly appointed whodunnit like "Murder on the Orient Express". Jamie W and I had read about it on a travel vlog and recognized the need to bookmark it for our trip to Porto. Sure enough, we had a less than memorable meal at Honest Greens on the pedestrian-only Rua Santa Catarina. It was just a few doors down and conspicuous by its atmospheric detail. Carved dark wood, ornate ceilings, polished brass, marble tables, the whole nine yards. We almost felt underdressed until we noticed other tourists in far tackier leisurewear. We only had room for dessert which was just as well since they had a robust selection to choose from. Surprisingly it was nearly empty when we entered. Jamie ordered the 10€ Cheesecake with Red Fruits. It was a nice, creamy slice ladled with a compote-like coulis of blueberries and red currants (Photo 9). It was accompanied by a glass of Porto Quinta do Noval LBV, a scintillating port that fed into his new addiction (Photo 7). I decided to try their signature 10€ French Toast Majestic Style made distinctive by its decadent egg-custard cream sauce. The flavorful bread slice sat in a shallow pool of maple syrup and sprinkled with pine nuts, walnuts, and raisins (Photo 10). Instead of a port pairing, I ordered the 7€ Cafe au Lait which balanced well with the French toast (Photo 8). I really think the Belle Epoque decor complemented our digestion because this was the gathering spot for Porto's elite. For a few moments, we were part of it. FOOD / DRINK - 5 stars...glorious sweets, especially the French toast, and the port and caffeine were nice fits AMBIANCE - 5 stars...striking atmosphere befitting an Agatha Christie murder mystery in the Gilded Age SERVICE - 4.5 stars..,of course they're attentive TOTAL - 5 stars...a worthy stop among many in Porto RELATED - Exploring Porto? 5 for beauty, zero for prices!! What a tourist trap. I walked in on a quiet morning wanting a small…read morecup of coffee or drink prior to an appointment I was early for. I was absolutely shook at the prices. 7€ for a pingo? (A sip of expresso with a drop of milk and the cup is slightly bigger than two or three thimbles. To compare, you can go most anywhere else and pay about 1€ for a pingo.) 8/9 euros for a hot chocolate? You can get cup of milk for 3/4 euros though, at the store you can get a whole liter for .89€ Listen, I am 100% sure being in this cafe is a dream for some potter fans but it is sad that the prices are that insane, but... clearly people pay them. I politely excused myself and I walked across the way and had two pork rissóis and a cup of coffee (not a baby pingo- think cappuccino size) for 3€... and for free, the real Portuguese experience with locals. The people I engaged with were lovely and kind here. This review is for the prices. Not the food, drinks, or service. Let's be real, of course ambiance is off the chart gorgeous. So if you don't mind a 50€ tab for 3-4 baby, baby coffees maybe just take a picture from the outside and call it good. There are more local and authentic things to do in Porto than pay 7€ for an orange juice or pingo.
