I spent months unsure of what to do about a shoulder injury before a friend recommended Spooner and…read moreI finally scheduled an appointment. After a lot of negative experiences with medical offices, Spooner was a huge breath of fresh air! Literally every person on the team from the front desk to the therapists themselves are friendly and helpful. I worked with PT Julia and tech Chris, and they were both phenomenal - true experts in what they do. I also met with PT Alix a few times, and she's equally amazing. I went in afraid I was going to spend a lot of time and money only to be told I needed surgery. Instead I walked out three months later with a shoulder that is almost entirely healed, and an easy-to-follow program to do at home. I still can't get over what a pleasant experience this was from start to finish. They have truly set the bar for all other providers I see in the future. A few things that set Spooner apart from other medical offices I've been to: 1. They offer a free consultation. If you're not sure physical therapy can help you, go in for a consultation! You'll get an honest answer. 2. They did not pressure me to schedule excessive or unnecessary appointments. I went in thinking I'd need to go 2-3 times a week and was pleasantly surprised that they recommended once a week, and then eventually every two weeks. 3. The billing is transparent and honest. My insurance wouldn't give them a price ahead of time, so Spooner had me pay an estimate based on what other clients with my insurance paid. When my claims were processed and their estimate was slightly higher than my contracted rate, they immediately applied all of the credit from my overpayments. I didn't even have to ask for it - I just walked into my appointment, greeted by the pleasant news that I didn't need to pay that day because I had credit on my account! 4. There were never any surprise charges or codes added on to my appointment. When Julia suggested we try dry needling (highly recommend btw), she made it clear there was no additional fee, and that was accurate information. 5. I feel very set up for success doing exercises at home. They have a really helpful app with my personalized program in it that includes videos of how to do the exercises, and they also gave me printed versions as well. (If you want physical therapy to be successful, you MUST do the exercises at home!) I could go on and on about how great Julia and the Spooner team are. I really can't recommend this practice highly enough.

The staff is friendly and upbeat and I felt comfortable from the moment I first walked in. The desk crew is very accommodating, even after I've had to cancel and rearrange appointment schedules more than once. My therapists have carefully evaluated my needs and provided realistic expectations regarding progress. I have exercises to do at home and the assistants monitoring my program are helpful and encouraging while trained to insist on "just two more". Julie has provided me with great suggestions, information and treatment suggestions. They are the best!

Are you in pain? Did you ever have a car accident or incur an injury on the job? Do massages or…read morechiropractic adjustments give you only temporary relief? Can you move with grace and ease, or are even simple tasks like dressing yourself and walking sometimes difficult? Have you ever been tempted to take painkillers just to get through the day? Did someone mention surgical intervention as your only recourse left? Or do you have a nagging sense that your body is simply getting "rusty" and you can't move the way you used to and don't feel that great? The staff at Resilient knows how to get your body working again--not through force or the same tired old cookie-cutter physical therapy routines and stretching exercises, but with completely customized movements tailored to your needs. Most of the exercises are subtle. And some of the exercises require only small movements. But they are all incredibly powerful and life-changing. Resilient uses many of the techniques taught by Peter Egoscue. The difference between what the Resilient staff do and other methods is that the Resilient staff analyzes the root of the pain and not merely symptoms. This is important, because often the location of your pain is not the source of the problem. Using an exquisitely holistic understanding of the body, Resilient personnel work with each client to develop non-stressful ways of unlocking tense muscles so the separate parts of the body can communicate with each other. For three years, I had severe pain in my hip and was limping when I walked. The first exercises given to me at addressed my very tense shoulders because that offered a way to unlock other parts of my body. Within 30 minutes of my very first session, I noticed more ease of walking. This is no exaggeration! After only two sessions I found myself sitting up straighter--not because I had to remind myself not to slouch, but because my body instinctively wanted to have better posture and sitting up straight actually took less effort than slouching. My prior experience with bodywork has been extensive. Among other protocols, I've received many types of massage, acupuncture, different kinds of chiropractic, weight training at the gym, Alexander technique, and Rolfing. Recently, my very talented osteopath recommended Resilient, and I can honestly say that this is the most comprehensive and far-reaching method I have ever encountered. If you're looking for permanent change rather than a quick fix that probably won't work; if you are willing to devote just 10-20 minutes a day to do your customized exercises (which change as you progress); if you want the root of your pain and movement problems addressed--then this is for you. Sessions are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. The friendly staff is knowledgeable and flexible. They truly give their clients what's needed to optimize quality of life. Since going to Resilient, I am holding my osteopathic manipulations better, my posture has vastly improved, and my chiropractor is finding it much easier to adjust me. Since I've been going there awhile, I recommended Resilient Align Pain Solutions to family members. They have benefitted as well, noticing positive structural changes from the very first session.
