I would also like to commend Spa by Claudia for not only responding to my post on yelp but for actually working on the problem I spoke about in my review. I have had over five sessions since my last review and I haven't run into any of the concerns or issues I spoke about in my last review. On the other hand, I've been late myself and I've been accommodated for my lateness. With that being said, I would like to commend Jerri the new aesthetician from South Carolina. She gave me a very pleasant and swift service today. She was extremely professional and friendly at the same time, I couldn't have asked for a better service. Kudos!

The salon is respectful of your time and does not double and or triple book their stylists so you are able to get in and out within a reasonable amount of time, receive quality service and not feel ignored or rushed. There have been times when stylists have moved on and the front desk staff made every effort to ensure I was paired with a stylist who specialized in working with curly hair. The owners have worked hard to provide an upscale and relaxed experience that is consistent. The salon is clean, calming and soothing without the threat of children / pets destroying the environment. Please be aware before booking your appointment - Salon L is not a daycare center so if you're asked to remove a disruptive situation, please understand the request - as I personally don't want to be forced to endure the pain. I also am a person color and have never faced discrimination or racism while visiting this establishment. That's my two cents...

To start, there are free snacks, soft drinks, and champagne/mimosas available. The staff is SO nice! I've now been 3 times for a regular mani/pedi and each time has been excellent. The pedicure chairs seem to be quite new, and have an excellent massage feature. The pedicure is thorough and gentle. The regular pedi includes paraffin on your heel. The manicure is also very through and includes a paraffin dip. I added a few minutes of a chair massage at $2/minutes and it was WORTH IT! I cannot recommend this place more strongly. Parking isn't great, but there is a lot on Dupont St, just a few steps away.

One younger woman did my pedicure and it was very mediocre. I didn't have high hopes for her doing my nails, but luckily an older lady took over and painted my toes and did my manicure. She was good enough. If i returned, I would only request her. The other two young ladies didn't seem to really be that experienced. Overall, I'd come back here only if I was in a pinch. The staff was welcoming and the older woman was very friendly , but the actual nail work was nothing special, and that's the whole point, right?

I went in person to schedule a lash lift and tint and specifically told the employee I wanted to use my ClassPass credits. When I asked how to book it through ClassPass, she told me, "Don't worry about it. You don't need to book it on there since we made the appointment here." On the day of my appointment, only one hour beforehand, I received a call saying they couldn't honor it because the Washington Square location doesn't use ClassPass. Five minutes later, they called back and said they would accommodate me. I again made it very clear that I wanted to use ClassPass and was willing to go to whichever location accepted it. They specifically told me to go to Washington Square. After my service, I was then told I couldn't use ClassPass because I hadn't booked through the app--even though the same employee who performed my service was the person who originally told me I didn't need to. Their explanation was that they're "fairly new on ClassPass and still figuring it out." I understand being new to the platform, but their mistake and repeated misinformation should not cost the customer money. I paid for the service, but I won't be returning and will be reporting the experience to ClassPass. If you're going to participate in ClassPass, your staff should understand how it works and honor what customers are told.
