My experience at the 34th Street location was unacceptable. I was physically harassed by a staff member, and on several occasions a manager made unprofessional comments. I changed locations to the 42nd Street club, where I had no issues, but eventually canceled my membership. I did report these concerns to the manager at the 42nd Street location, but I felt I also needed to put this on the record. There is simply no place for this kind of behavior toward paying members. Members deserve to be treated with respect and professionalism. I hope someone in senior management looks into these issues so the club can improve.

Previously I have asked the attendant and they said due to the amount of foam in the water it was being cleaned (at 1pm). The staff in the pool and spa area are always helpful and friendly. Today I went to the Sky location and the indoor pool and jacuzzi was closed. I asked the front desk why they cannot send an email or an alert on the app. She didn't know why. The mid-town location is much older but everything is always working.

After a verbal disagreement with another patron, a staff member asked me to leave. I explained that I disagreed with what had been reported and didn't believe the situation had been handled fairly. What disappointed me most was that there appeared to be no meaningful attempt to de-escalate the situation. No manager came to speak with me or try to resolve the issue before it escalated further. Instead, the police were called and I was arrested without any meaningful conversation. I was never physically aggressive toward any staff member or patron. Despite that, the situation escalated far beyond what I ever expected from a luxury club charging over $350 per month. I still have not received a refund weeks later and highly recommend no one sign up to this gym unless you want to get arrested. The lack of trying to de-escalate and instead escalate was extremely shocking. Worst gym ever! For a premium membership, I expected a much higher level of customer service and conflict resolution. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. I can no longer recommend this club based on how this incident was handled.

I always have to wave my phone in front of their face when I come in so they scan it and my visit will be registered in the app. Why are they always too busy to scan it on their own? Why do I need to remind them to be doing their jobs? And worst of all, every single one of the children working here is RUDE and ENTITLED. They never say good night to the guests and they are always just gossiping amongst themselves. This is a JOB. THEY ARE BEING PAID TO WORK NOT TO STAND AROUND IGNORING GUESTS. IF I OWNED THIS PLACE I WOULD HIRE ALL NEW STAFF AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY SCAN EVERY GUESTS' ID AND THEY SAY HELLO AND GOOD BYE EVERY DAY. IT IS NOT THAT HARD. For $400 a month, you would think they would do that. But then again, this is a company that just lost $40M in a class action settlement. What else do you expect. Nitwits.

I had a minor issue with one of the workers, and instead of handling it professionally, GM Joseph Cloonan came up to me inside the men's locker room while I was not dressed. I asked him multiple times to please wait outside the locker room until I was dressed and told him I would speak with him outside. He refused and continued following me around the locker room, including while I was changing. I felt extremely uncomfortable and left the gym right away because I wanted to escalate and report what happened. About an hour later, I received a call saying I was banned from Equinox for life for allegedly violating the Mutual Respect Policy. Since then, I have made multiple attempts to contact Equinox corporate, Equinox HR, and Equinox legal. I have also tried dealing with club directors Allison Neimi and Emma Marr, but they refused to take a phone call from me, refused to let me explain what happened, and refused to provide any meaningful escalation contact. I am now filing a civil claim and complaints with the New York State Attorney General's Consumer Frauds Bureau, the New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, and any other appropriate agency. Worth noting, Equinox has already faced serious consumer-protection scrutiny. In 2025, the New York Attorney General announced a $600,000 settlement with Equinox over membership and cancellation practices, including allegations that Equinox failed to clearly disclose subscription terms and failed to provide easy online cancellation options. In my opinion, this club handled the situation terribly. I was followed around a locker room while undressed, banned shortly after, and then ignored when I tried to report what happened through the proper channels.

Recently they hosted a movie night and a Bar B Que/ Open swim. Again, nothing but bickering from negative people. I loved having beer with my popcorn and for free! I LOVED having a hamburger and chicken with fresh salad all for free after swimming. The staff worked really hard to pull off these two events. The Lifeguards were circling the pool constantly and show great care and compassion for an elderly man who is a regular and needs extra TLC. Stop complaining or leave! I came to New York Indoor Sports Club when my boyfriend challenged me to a match of ping pong. We both live in Flushing near Main St., so NYISC was a perfect place for us to travel to. The club inside was spacious and clean. Some of the staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and gave us a thorough and in-depth description of all the membership services and fees for ping pong games/coaching. The actual tables are professional-grade, and there are actually plenty of them spread throughout an enormous indoor facility. I liked the feel of the high ceilings while I played (or at least ATTEMPTED to play haha). Even though this place was popular on a weeknight around 7-8pm, the size of the facility didn't make me feel cramped. Checking out the rest of NYISC, I saw an indoor soccer field - which is a rare sight in a place such as Flushing. I don't play soccer, but I would recommend this space for soccer teams and friends looking to play a match or serious game. My boyfriend and I also wandered to the 'Pro Shop' in the sports club. They sold all different professional ping pong products from brands such as Butterfly (famous ping pong product manufacturer). We didn't purchase anything, but I did sign up for private lessons with one of the renowned & accomplished coaches. The pricing was for a set of 10 lessons and were more than affordable. The coaches were all world ranked, and have competed in Olympics, etc. Maybe one day I'll be able to at least keep up in a game with my boyfriend, lol. LAST THING: People here are very open and friendly.
