I am so grateful for him and couldn't thank him enough. This precinct is in charge of some of the nicer areas of the northeast Bronx but this has to be one…read moreof the worst precincts in the Bronx. They never solve crimes and unless its murder its considered petty and just shelfed. They will make you do police reports making you think something will be done but if you never call them you will never ever hear from them. They do more harm than good by botching evidence , stalling and running out the clock and divulging private information. By the time they are done you wont be able to do anything with your case and you would have been better off without them. The detective they assigned to me said they had better things to do, closed the case with leads not contacted and the leads they contacted they told all my private biz and the neighbor stopped talking to me. My family and I have filed about 10 reports in the past five years. Zero were solved and only in 2/10 was there even a follow up after the initial report. I highly suggest people forming neighborhood watches, have security cams and look out for each other. These cops have no interest in protecting and serving . They are collecting checks and counting the days to retirement. Stay safe or at least as safe as you can be if this is your precinct

The new recruits are friendly, helpful and not intimidating as in the past. I had a couple bad experiences about 10-15 years ago. Now when I ask for information I'm assisted. It's like when you teach a child the policeman is your friend. I wasn't raised that way. I was taught to be afraid of them. I'd be locked up. I still have a fear of imprisonment. Thus my name FreeBird. I try my best to keep the law because of my fear. I thank the police every chance I get these days. We lost 9 to suicide this year. I'm grateful every day that they take the job. They are so very very underpaid! Thank you NYPD. My heart and prayers go with you.

I had to get some fingerprint cards filled out for a background check for a job. I went later that…read moreday; they told me the person who does fingerprints wasn't there. There was absolutely nothing going on, from what I could see. I doubt the person wasn't there. I came back the next day during the time they said the person would be there. Again, nothing going on. I waited about 20 minutes for someone to come down and do something that took about 5 min. I will say, people were helpful when I came in and asked me what I needed, and they did call the person who did the fingerprint cards within 5-10 minutes of me arriving. I'll give NYPD the benefit of the doubt and assume there was more going on behind closed doors than I could see; otherwise, I would have to say things looked and operated needlessly slow.

Your locked up 23 hours a day and for the hour you do get, you spend it on the unit because they always give the excuse that they don't have enough staff to take you outside.....
