Thought I would start with that since Yelp's list of places with Taco Tuesday doesn't include nYne, though there are some places in the list more than once and one that isn't even open on Tuesday. That said, I like everything about nYne: Kitty the owner, the bartenders and cooks, the menu, the regulars that I've met and the ambiance. And I like the feeling of community that nYne creates as well as their support of our community beyond their doors. Great place! You will love it! read more

First off I will say the tacos on taco Tuesday are excellent. Highly recommend. That's where the good ends though. The place was cold as ice. (I hate being cold and it makes no sense for a bar in the winter time to be cold.) I think they keep the A/C cranked up so all the fat women perk, if you know what I mean. I watched them kick a group out for sitting at a "reserved" table even though there was no reserved sign on it. I paid for parking (Thanks Spokane - sarcasm) for 45 minutes. I barely had time for a couple of drinks and to eat my dinner before my parking expired or I might have ordered another round of tacos. Oh well. read more

I was in town for a Pride wedding and came here with a group of friends and family as the afterparty. I absolutely LOVE the vibe here and felt really at home. All the staff were awesome and there is such a welcoming feel all around. This was my first ever time to see a Drag show, and it was so much fun! All the performers did such a great job. Everyone was having a great time and it showed. The drinks were excellent and the chips and salsa were absolutely delicious!!! I am so glad that I decided to go with our group, I was a little apprehensive at first, as I only recently publicly came out. This was my second visit to a gay friendly bar, and it was by far much better than the first time. I found my extended family when I visited Spokane. read more

This place is a nice lil Spokane Gem. Cheap drinks and yummy food and there's always some type of entertainment happening. I will say, there are some issues with parking and in order to provide enough FREE parking spaces for low income residents living above the bar and the buildings associated. There is paid parking to the left of the building just make sure you pay for enough hours or you most likely will come out with a $40something ticket. There also is a bit more houseless individuals around this area. I personally dont mind and I've never seen an incident but just so you are aware. Now back to the bar, super great vibes and welcoming queer environment. We went in on a Wednesday night and there were some individuals playing covers on the stage and anyone was welcome to join which was great. It felt like true community lives in that place. I actually dont think this bar has a unisex bathroom which would be the only reason I would personally take off a star but I won't because there's still so much positive about this bar. read more

Tonight was my first night ever going to a club, specifically Nyne being my first and it was for my 25th birthday. I met lots of lovely people and it was a really welcoming environment. I got the Nitro Mai Tai - tasty af. My friend and I also did some Jell-O shots which helped me warm up. The club is usually definitely not my scene but I had a GREAT time. Also the bathrooms were clean af to the eye! Definitely plan on going back. read more

My friends and I go to this bar every Thursday for Trivia Night. The waitstaff are super friendly and helpful. The food is normal bar fare but very decent. The drink specials are fun and mixed drinks are decently priced. One of my favorite Spokane places. read more

this place is so much fun I cant even start to put into words. there is no private parking but there is public parking across the street. we took a cab so we could drink, we be safe that way :D this is a all kind of love bar, you will find straight, gay and everything in between here and it is awesome! the drinks were great and at a great value and the bartenders were so friendly and fun. there is plenty of sitting If you come in early and there is plenty of dancing going all around, the vibe here is insane! the music gets you going all night we did not stop dancing. we came back here twice because this place was that good. come in early to avoid cover charge and the lines cause there are major lines to get in here after 10pm. keep in mind that they do sell food here too, we didn't try it but they look like some bar food that you can munch on if you must, the prices are pretty good too for the food. Nyne somehow encompasses every flavor of bar environment within a single week. I love to go out dancing but most venues lack consistency; a great dance floor on Friday hardly implies a Saturday repeat. Nyne is one of the few places in Spokane that can deliver an amazing (and amazingly consistent) weekend for my friends and me. Weekday visits are a reminder that Nyne is both bar and bistro. For the weekend warriors who only visit to get their dance on, you're missing out on some top-notch food. I know my vegetarian friends love their Impossible Burger but "I ain't about that (vegetarian) lifestyle". I'll also dip in for their $1 Taco Tuesdays. The environment is incredibly chill and contrasts with the weekend crazy. They usually offer some low-key event like trivia or karaoke which makes it easy to make new friends. Finally, you have the bartenders and staff. I've been visiting off-and-on for the better part of the last decade and the employees are as consistent as the experience. Typical bartenders float between bartending gigs but Nyne seems to keep the same people year-after-year. It's an incredible feat that loosely speaks to the environment and background operations. Happy bartenders lead to happy customers and I'm happy to count myself as one. read more

I've been here twice now, once on a night when there was karaoke and the other on Saturday night during pride. I don't go "out" much anymore these days, but for a club it was a pretty great experience. There was pretty good music, a lot from the 90s and 2000s which I really love, as well as dancers on the stage which are very entertaining to watch. It's also very nice and big and open, even with a small outside patio area. read more

My review has nothing to do with the bar itself. I have never gotten food or drink there. My friends and I were walking back to our car, in a group of four, from the comedy club and a man approached us while riding a bike and asked us if we were single. We said no, all of us are married. He asked us for sex and offered payment. He also grabbed at a bag he had. We ignored him but he continued to follow. He continued to follow us and so we stepped into nYne for safety. The bouncers there were so kind to us. We were all visibly shaken from this event, they asked us for our ID to comply with the laws but we were invited to stay in there as long as we needed. They gave us time to get out our IDs and said we were safe, and we felt it. When we left a bouncer escorted us to our car and made sure we were left alone by the guy. Thank you nYne for making the women of Spokane feel safe. I will tell everyone about this event, and I will tell people nYne is a safe bar for women. read more

I really enjoy nYne. A bar in what could be a less-than-desirable location (right across the street from the Greyhound station on a block with little else that's open) manages to be quirky, cool, and inviting. Set up in an old garage, they open the garage door to expand onto an open patio when its warm. There is an indoor basketball court (yes, really), nice tables, a pool table, and a generally cozy and kind of hip feeling. nYne isn't technically a gay bar, but it IS a women's sports bar, which means that a variety of people are welcome. When a drunk man was hassling a table of my (queer, female) friends and I, the bouncer made it very clear that women's comfort and safety was important at nYne. Which was awesome, since that hasn't been a feeling I've had at other gay bars in Spokane (DEMPSEYS) or other queer bars in the world. I've only had appetizers here, but they were always delicious. The drinks are good and the servers are (mostly, with one exception) friendly. Kitty, the owner, is around a lot. If you see her, tell her what a great job she's doing. nYne is a welcome addition to the Spokane nightlife. read more

Gluten Free Options: Yes! Two tasty GF beers. Bathrooms: Gendered multiple stall. I'm from out of town, and stumbled on this gem of a bar while exploring what downtown Spokane had to offer. The place was hopping with a benefit for the tsunami relief efforts in Japan, but still felt spacious and open. When going up to the bar and asking if they had any gluten-free beer options - a question which is often met with a blank stare - and was told I had my choice of two beers, which is a damn sight better than most places I've been to. All bemused, I wandered over to the comfy leather couch and seated myself to watch the crowd and live music. I noted a roomy dance floor, though the only person on it was the representative Interpretive Dancing Guy who was a blast to watch. I especially loved the fact that nYne has not one but two stages, making the transition time from live band to live band negligible. I've produced my share of shows, and this kind of flexibility is invaluable for keeping a live lineup going smoothly. The crowd was nicely mixed, which was a refreshing change from the Straightlandia that is Spokane. While I am a Spokane native, I live in a queer bubble in the city I now call home, so it was pretty great to not feel like the resident freak in the bar. I didn't get a chance to check out the menu, but will definitely be back during the week to see what options are available. This is one bar that I hope lives long and prospers. read more

Hey straight men! This is the bar for you! Most of the clientele are straight women. This bar "could be" great. For a LGBT bar it does a lot right. The dance floor is fantastic. Unfortunately from 2015 up to 2018 the bar has turned straight where wedding parties of women and straight men hang out and dance to music that is more than 30 years old and easier to grind to than dance. The bar has transformed from community to just making money while forcing the LGBT community out. I'd say 5% of the clientele that show up to this bar is LGBT. A safe place to be you? Not so much. Straight men don't take well to getting hit on in this space. Even the straight women give the "how can you ask me that?!" sneer. I would want to believe this is a one-off occurrence on a weekend, but unfortunately it is not. I have been to this bar consistently about 10 times a year for the last couple years and as a gay male I do not feel safe here any longer. Tolerance sure. Acceptance. Not at Nyne. If you are looking for a safe place without LGBT people? You found it. This is not an LGBT bar despite the ownership and it should be dropped from the reputation. Sorry i can't recommend. read more

I wasn't sure what to expect from this place. Its in a strange location, but when you walk inside you are pleasantly surprised. The decor is nice and relaxed, and almost rather fancy looking -- even the bathrooms. The service was friendly, the happy hour apps (flatbread and caesar salad) were tasty, and the price was not bad. Beer and drinks very good. We got there at the beginning of happy hour so there weren't many people, but you can tell the vibe there is pleasant. I just hope they play the WNBA games there! Went on a Friday night and had a blast. Diverse crowd, great dj. Women packed on the dance floor, dancing with each other and everyone else for that matter! :) My only gripe is the lack of a wait staff. We had to go get every single drink (and would have had to order food)from the bar. Not once were we asked if we wanted anything by any servers. There is a small bar near entrance with beer and shots. Drink prices were good with no cover! There was a pool table near the front that was constantly in action. Average dance bar, good tunes, shockingly unpleasant staff. We came on a Saturday night for the later nightlife and the bar scene and wanted to do some dancing. The night stated off shaky as the bouncer was rude. We told him we had a group of 5, and he still cut off the last 2 people in the group and made them wait longer to get in. Once inside, it was very surprising that there was a line to get in. It was like half full! Silly, but forgivable. The bar service was fine and the DJ played some good tunes, but they were constantly grumbling and groaning about standing by a wall next to the dance floor. The night until closing time was average overall, but went downhill quickly around closing time. They advertise as being open until 2am, but had last call at about 1:15 and had the lights on kicking people out promptly at 1:30. Now, that's a bit early, but not the worst part. When we didn't IMMEDIATELY leave when the lights came on, the staff started telling us we had to leave NOW and pushing us out. They were actually physically taking the drinks OUT OF OUR HANDS!!!!! It's not like we were the last ones in there, just refusing to leave either. That could be the rudest and worst I have been treated in a bar in my life! It seemed like the staff wanted to leave as early as possible and would do whatever it took to make that happen including nearly assaulting its former patrons. Needless to say, Nyne left a lasting impression on me and will NOT be getting my return business! read more

I hate to rate this place 1 star. Most of the people and the atmosphere were amazing, but the bartender Melissa was one of the rudest people I have ever encountered. She rolled her eyes when I asked for a drink, and when I asked for clarification on a drink she followed me back to my table and told me I was cut off (after yelling in my face). nYne is rad. It's a large space with friendly staff whom I consider friends. I enjoy their Thursday night Karaoke and it's possibly the only place to be on the weekends if you're looking for a loud, rambunctious night on the town with friends. My complaints are minimal but perhaps stem from the lack of intimate seating and nowhere to have and keep your posse, as if they could be tied down anyhow. If you're from out of town, come here. Had a great time here went on a Saturday night at 11 and the dance floor was packed and the music was great danced the whole night. The drinks were really tasty I liked the drink specials they had were all unique and came in a big glass only 8 bucks. Security was there and did their job good and were nice and helpful. So ya 5 stars just make sure you pay for parking because I'm new to the area so I wasnt aware that you have to pay for parking 24/7 in Spokane which I think is ridiculous. read more

Hands down the most fun night to be had in the 'Kane. My wife is from Spokane, so we are guaranteed to be in town at least once a year. And when we are around, it's a given that us and our friends will end up at Nyne. The bar tenders are awesome. The drinks are always the perfect mix of delicious and liquor. They offer a good variety of drinks but the food menu is limited. However I do like that they serve food until 2 ( or so I was told). The night that I went here it was early enough that I was able to get a table with my friends. Open mic night started around 7. Why are there no half stars?! Because this place is a solid 3.5! I'm one to prefer having a night out on less popular days, Wednesday at nyne did not disappoint in most aspects. Definitely not at all crowded, love the openness of this venue and the drinks were decently priced. We went specifically for the karaoke and none of the singers made me want to shove sharp objects into my ears. There are some draw backs though... The music is stupid loud. It makes having a conversation difficult, unless you like screaming and the sexiness of a smokey voice the next day. And the crowd, at least on this particular Wednesday, was really young. I'm hoping that it was just because it was a Wednesday and the prospect of waking up early for work the next day slightly hungover was less than ideal. That and the older you get the more you come to realize the best cure for a hangover is being under 25. I will go again. read more

Anytime we want to go dancing, we go to Nyne! It's really been the only spot I have found in Spokane where I can dance like no ones watching. Always a classic spot to go out with friend on the weekend or even see a show. They are very community involved and are always hosting fun events and the staff has always been welcoming. read more
