Unsupported sub-roof boards following fan install by Nye Electric

I had a Quiet Cool fan installed by Kevin and his son Tyler back in November of 2022. I ran it over the summer of 2023 and noticed that the air was only being drawn into one of the two vents of my WHF-4.0-DG2 Installation. From looking at the venting space within the ceiling I could tell that the second vent port was not getting throughput due to air being sucked through the attic crawl space instead of through the house. At the time of initial installation, Kevin and his son had told me that they had stuffed installation into the attic space such that only minor residual flow would go across the attic and not to worry about it; however, when I looked towards the close of the summer, I saw large gaps of unstuffed flow area. It seemed to me they had run out of insulation and just didn't want to have to purchase anymore to snug up the system. When I called them to repair the job they did I experienced significant trouble trying to schedule with them and on more than one occasion in which Kevin said he would show up he did not. Finally his son Tyler arrived towards the end of the day one day and proceeded to stuff the vent with a woefully inadequate amount of insulation. When the fan was turned on for system testing purposes, a strip of insulation got sucked up into the fan, effectively stalling the fan. They told me that they would handle the RMA process for getting a new motor from Quiet Cool, but after a week of waiting Quiet Cool confirmed that no RMA was filed. In the end, I decided I did not wish to work with Kevin or his son anymore, partially because of the flow issues and damaged fan motor experiences, but mostly because when they installed the fan through my roof, they installed it across a joist and, in doing so, they compromised several boards underneath the roof surface such that if I walked in that area I would have fallen through the roof! The fact that they had left these compromised boards underneath my roof for almost a year really made me lose confidence in their professionalism. I do not recommend these guys for any type of installation on a home or business.

I just used Nye Electric and I have to say they go above and beyond to make the customer happy. Will use them again.

Can't recommend highly enough. I was left high and dry by my solar installer. Kevin came and got our system online.

I wanted to share my recent wonderful experience with my recent service visit with Infinity Solar…read more I purchased my system in 2024 (detailed review also done); during this time, my solar generation has been absolutely wonderful, and sized perfectly by Kay. My electric bill is essentially free over all of 2025 and this year. Some months have a $10 dollar bill, other months negative depending on how sunny each day is. I have had zero issues whatsoever and system works like clockwork. The installation over my tile roof, done through Terrazas roofing, partnered with Solar has also been top notch with zero issues with multiple major storms last year. I would say i was 110% satisfied with my decision to go solar and with Infinity solar. Fast forward to 2026. A series of recent power outages resulted in no power in my home. My initial thinking was that my system should have generated power with a fully charged battery during this outage. After calling Infinity, it was relayed that my system per contract was only set up for load shifting by design, lowering cost which I had decided on. After discussing 2 options to allow for backup power generation, i decided to proceed with the upgrade. Throughout the process, the entire team supported me exceptionally, starting with Sara who stepped in to help speak to me when the service department was not available at the time. As i did'nt understand my contract fully,, i reached out to Kay in sales, whom i did not speak to in 2 years, who really went above and beyond to explain to me in full detail how my system was set up, and options i had to upgrade. Kay treated me like family. I was so appreciative of her kind approach. She helped coordinate a technical call with Joel to fully answer all my technical questions. Once i decided i was comfortable with to proceed with the upgrade, the service team took over, with Vanessa and Brianna helping me schedule my service. Vanessa and Brianna work tremendously well together; super friendly, pleasant, professional and helpful. I requested looking into a couple options which Vanessa followed up on and accommodated without hesitation. A straight forward and exact quote was provided on Thursday. Their service and help was fantastic and greatly appreciated. Upon approving my quote on Thursday, my service was completed on the following Tuesday, much faster than I expected. Upgrade was performed by Ivan, electrician specialist. Ivan also initially setup my system in 2024. His expertise is perhaps, in my view, the finest in the industry. I felt very fortunate and appreciative knowing i hd my system in the best hands. He spent about 3 hours working on my system, explaining all the steps. Work performed was tremendous. Ivan patiently answering all my questions on some of the system parameters forgotten over the past 2 years. System was up and running and verified to work fully with a simulated power outage performed through the fuse box, and through the app. I was thrilled to now have backup power during outages. Billing and final payment was as quoted and super easy. In closing, the real mark of any business is how you are treated after the job is complete. My belief is that Infinity solar lives up to their reputation of being an exceptional 5 star company providing high expertise solar services through all phases of a project; sales, installation, commission, operational life, and post installation services. In a business of fraught with fly by night companies, Infinity Solar is a true gem. Solar done right with integrity, highest expertise, and exceptional, prompt service when called on. Thanks again to the entire Infinity team. 5 Star once again! Dave C

UPDATE: Sadly, changing my original 5-star review to 1 star…read more I'm really disappointed to have to update my original review. When we purchased our solar system from Infinity Solar in 2017, the installation process was great, and we genuinely felt they went above and beyond. We were extremely pleased with our experience and had no hesitation recommending them. Unfortunately, fast-forward several years, and our experience has been completely different. Recently, one of our inverters stopped working. Given that our contract includes a 25-year warranty covering workmanship, labor, and certain equipment, we naturally reached out to Infinity Solar expecting them to stand behind their warranty. Instead, we were told we would have to pay $550 just for someone to come out and assess the problem, followed by additional hourly labor charges for however long the repair would take. When we questioned why we were being charged these fees despite our warranty, the owner, Tim, explained that we lived too far away, that the business wasn't doing well financially, and that it essentially wasn't worth it for him to send someone out. He even mentioned that they were considering closing the business altogether. Needless to say, we were shocked and extremely disappointed by this response. We trusted this company with a significant investment, in part because of the extensive warranties they offered. To now be told that servicing our system isn't worthwhile to them because of their financial situation and our location is incredibly frustrating. Ultimately, we hired another company that came out and repaired our inverter for just $300--less than what Infinity wanted to charge simply to diagnose the problem. It's unfortunate because our initial experience was genuinely positive. However, a company's true commitment to its customers isn't just demonstrated during the sale and installation, but in how it stands behind its products and warranties years later. A 25-year warranty means very little if the company is unwilling to honor it when you actually need service. I sincerely hope Infinity Solar reconsiders how it treats its existing customers. Based on our recent experience, I can no longer recommend them, particularly to anyone placing value on their long-term warranty promises.

Update for my review with OC - Savannah from customer service reached out regarding my experience…read moreand expressed regret over how things went and changes were actively happening at the company. She offered a free panel cleaning, which she set up internally and had their team come out this past Friday without issue. Since the cleaning the panels have been much better performing especially after these past few weeks of misting and rain, about 25% higher output. I didn't think much of it but I get now it's worth doing to get the most out of the panels. Overall a very good response and experience with OC specifically for this issue. I feel that they do want to stand out from the crowd and responding proactively to feedback gives me more confidence they'll take care of issues as they hear about them.

Poor communication and project management…read more My project has been underway for 8 weeks and I'm still likely weeks away from having a functional system (despite having paid over $30K out of pocket). I've had to repeatedly chase the team for basic updates with no follow through. Throughout the entire process, I do not believe the team followed up with me directly, I have had to chase every single update since signing the contract. The original system design I agreed to did not fit my roof (despite them measuring on-site before I approved the quote), during install many roof tiles were damaged and replaced with used (very dirty moss covered tiles). Hopefully I have a functioning system sometime soon, but I have been extremely disappointed so far.

I hired AWS Solar to install solar panels on my home In May 2026. They completed the job a few…read moreweeks later. They did a very good jod. I am pleased. However, upon completeing the job, the project manager Tim Broughton called me, helped me log on to the Enphase app so that I could monitor the panels. After I confirmed that I was logged in, I was told that I was up and running And they were done. I was happy thinking I was now running on the sun. Wrong. So very wrong. I received my electric bill and astonished to see the electric portion was over $800.00. I called the power company and was told that the $130.00 application fee had not been paid. I notified Mr. Broughton and he immediatley saw that the bill for the application fee was paid and apologized for the error. Now the fun begins. I called the power company and asked when they would be out to install the proper meter for solar panels. I was informed that no application for a meter to be installed was on file and that I had to submit an application for interconnection. Hmm? No one mentioned anything to me about completing and application or that I had to contact the power company. I completed the PTO (Permission to Operate) form and based on the questions being asked and the information I needed to provide leads me to believe the Solar company was responsible for completing this form and sending the required fee. Ok. Lets not look to for someone to blame, lets just get the proper meter installed. I completed the PTO and submitted it. The power company came out a couple of weeks later and installed the a new meter. Onlyit was not a meter for solar panels. They installed the same new meter but it was the same meter as the meter I already had. I asked them why they didn't put on a solar meter and I was told that I needed to submit a PTO for a SOLAR METER, which is different. And by the way, they have a special person that installs solar meters and a special person to install regular meters. This seemed rather stupid to me. I ask the power comapany rep for the contact info for the solar department and he told he didn't know. I won't name the power company. LADwp. The one good thing the DWP rep did upon arriving to his office was to send an email to contact the proper department at the power company. I assumed he would have just gone about his business and let me flounder. I started on the second application which asked for job site photos. This was to me another indication that the solar installer was suppose to complete this form because Joe Citizen would not know what photos they were required. I did observe that periodically, the workers would take photos, but none were ever sent to me. Now I'm in the middle of August 2026 with fingers, legs, arms, eyes and anything else, maybe the dogs and cats, crossed hoping that this time I will get a meter. The bottom line is I would still recommend AWS SOLAR to anyone, but I'd have to caution them to make sure they get you connected and ALL fees are paid. Because I was dealing with the City of LA and being constantly sent to voice mail and waiting for call backs, this experience was horrendous.

The 4th year production shows improvement over the 3rd year as I kept the panels clean. However,…read moreit's still about 4.8% below the minimum guaranteed production (accounting 0.25% maximum annual panel degradation). It's 4 year in a row now the system failed to produce the minimum guaranteed production. AWS Solar chose to compensate for the shortfall again; we'll see what the 5th year production looks like. I suggested replacing some of the panels with the higher power ones to solve the issue, but I guess they want to see more data.
