NNL did a wonderful job with our railings on my home that I had already moved out of. We managed the entire bid/transaction/installation through email so I didn't have to make the trip home and we're very happy with the final result

We installed a solatube in our very dark staircase/small landing area. It went from being a dark cave to being bright and cheery. I'm so so glad we got on board and had this thing installed. They're much cheaper and far less prone to leaks and issues than traditional sky lights, sure I can't see the sky but for the cost and peace of mind it's an excellent solution. We had a hard time scheduling since they call from a number just named "montlake terrace" and not their business name so I wasn't taking their calls but once we connected they were super flexible about coming out and installing around our very busy schedule. The whole install took ~2 1/2 hours and the installer explained everything to me about how it works, how to clean it (if I wanted to) how to check it for leaks, replace the batteries in the night light (which currently gets you a 30% federal tax break on the entire thing!) and explained how it was installed on the roof, which is the same as any other vent that would be in your roof. Overall very happy with the results, the product, the install, the sales rep, everything. Would definitely recommend this to anyone struggling with dark places in your home.

Took this picture at 5pm (first day of spring / gloomy skies). Solatube-lit stairwell.

We can see the light!!! We live in a 3-story townhouse and had Solatubes installed upstairs in our hallway and bathroom. Our experience working with NW Natural Lighting was a thoroughly fantastic experience. We are no longer living as Vampires in our home during the day and we can actually see our reflections in the mirrors without turning on the lights. Thanks to Dawn and the install team for such a seamless experience! She even helped us with useful information after the install about how our truly-vampiric tenant who works nights and sleeps during the day can block the light in the bathroom so the sun doesn't melt her when she should be sleeping. Forgot to mention... they helped us get the federal tax credit as well! (We could install in the 3-story because we are built against a hill and the installers only had to go up 2 stories to work on the roof)

I contacted the owner, Ante', who drove out in his fully equipped commercial vehicle to my business the same day I called him for a quote. He arrived at the exact time specified and brought samples for me to review. During the initial consultation, he wasn't rushed and took the time to explain the different types of products and how the UV blocking technology worked and how it helped block light while still providing visibility. He also used a very cool laser guided measuring tool that was a lot more accurate than the old fashioned plastic tape measure. I like supporting locally owned businesses and companies that are family owned. Ante' has been installing and cleaning blinds for over twenty years and is a true pleasure to work with throughout the process. His pricing is fair and honest. It's also a bonus to have the business owner do the installation. Ante' is extremely professional, has a fantastically positive attitude that is infectious and he communicates throughout the whole process. You can't go wrong with his service and expertise. We have received a lot of compliments on the new shades and it's helped our employees be more comfortable during this hot weather.

If you could describe Exteriors West with one word it would be "Outstanding" with a capital O. Dan, who is owner and installer, has got the installation down to a science. Dan arrived at my home around 8am to install a 16' X 20' aluminum patio cover which he flawlessly and meticulously installed by himself and completed around 6:00pm, Including cleanup. He has been doing this work for 25 years now and it shows! Do you remember the days of great customer service and honesty of business owners in the 50's? Well there are a few still out there and Dan is one of them. Maybe that is why the Better Business Bureau has given Exteriors West an A+. He completed the patio cover then proceeded to look over the cover with a fine tooth comb, wiping down the cover removing any finger prints or dirt he saw then he continued to look it over and painting any scratch or blemish with the factory touch up paint. Just this alone took about 45 minutes to an hour this is how meticulous Dan is and what kind of commitment he has to make everything perfect. When Dan started the job he put down sheets of cardboard and covered my deck with it to protect it. And at the end of the job he swept up his work debris and picked up the cardboard. He then blew off my deck with a leaf blower and picked up any stray garbage. My deck was left cleaner than when he got there. Then fit and finish of my cover is outstanding! From the planning, selection of materials and construction, Dan has been very patient and full of information and suggestions. If you need a patio cover, carport, RV cover, railings, window awnings, whether it be residential, commercial or industrial, Exteriors West is the company you want to go with. He said he does jobs all around Washington and told me he had just returned from a commercial job in Oregon. Sorry if this sound like a commercial but when I find a company that does an outstanding job all the way around, I have to tell someone. And today, you're that someone.

I ordered a motorized awning from Lars-Erik Snadgren, the new owner of Seattle Sun Control. He was friendly and knowledgeable when he came. It took several days for him to send the bid. As soon as I got the bid on May 26, I paid for half of the order. Due to Covid 19, he said it would take longer than the normal five weeks, which was fine. The problems started when I contacted Lars-Erik on June 22 and asked he had heard from the manufacture about the status of the awning. He didn't respond. I sent another text on June 24. Still no response. I called several times and left messages. I sent an email on July 10 stating that I had not heard from him and that I was frustrated and would need to cancel the order if he didn't get back to me. I texted again on July 10. He sent a text saying that he'd call me that day. I left another phone message yesterday. It is now July 17 and I have not heard from him. I contacted my bank to dispute the charge, $2,719.47, half the cost of the awning. Two of my neighbors used Seattle Sun Control and were very happy with the service and the product. However, Lars-Erik Snadgren purchased the company this past spring. It is now connected to Sandgren Solutions a contracting company. Nobody answers the phone at either--both with Lars-Erik's voice on voicemail. Nobody answers the phone. I would not order from them again.

The sales rep, TJ, came to our home twice to talk about the product and specifics of our project. He was nice and knew the product well. He explained that they regularly use a specific electrical company which takes care of the final electrical work (since their installers are not licensed to do this). I told him that I'd appreciate the name of the electrical company as I'd like to talk to them about a couple other odds and ends we needed done (separate from the shade install). Anyway, approximately three weeks after placing the shade order, I get a call from TJ saying they are ready to install. Great! I asked him if he had confirmed with the electrician as well and he said "no, I forgot to do that, my bad" or something to that nature. In other words, he admitted to dropping the ball!! Ok, so I was on my own to schedule the electrician which was two weeks out. The install guys come out a couple days after speaking with TJ to put in the shades. They had to give us temporary power since they neglected to arrange with the electrician to come the same day, so we were left with non-code wires hanging all over the front of our home. When I called Greg, the owner, to explain my frustration he never apologized and instead put the blame back on me stating that there was a miscommunication on both sides. Not only did TJ admit to to me he had neglected this piece but how could I possibly arrange directly with the electrician when I didn't know when the shades would be delivered to their warehouse?!?? Greg talked over me the whole time and again put the blame back on me. So, two weeks later I finally am able to get the electrician to come out (they are busy with their own business) and he gets here only to tell me the installers didn't leave enough wire length to hide the electrical boxes on the sides of the house which I explicitly explained I wanted at least three times and which the installers ensured me they would. Still waiting to hear back from Greg, but I'm not too encouraged he will do the right thing based on his previous behavior and the fact that he already has my money. Save yourself the headache and choose another shade provider. There are many. Wish I would have gone with the other company I researched, Seattle Awnings. I will most definitely be using them for future projects. While the product is nice (most companies carry this same product) these guys are truly terrible. Do not give Greg your money.
