Additionally, I've not been able to find any certification listing from James Hardie with their informaiton so I'm suspect about the warranty on my product. The original work left with very poor trim, many nails not being set in fully and both of my hose bibs unusable, which they did actually fix. I still have the plumbing for my outdoor sink unattached, an electrical box for the AC just dangling off the side of the house and a vent placed on the wall that doesn't attach to anything. They claim this is acceptable work from their end and won't even come back out to look a the damage they have left behind. I would not suggest anyone hire this company to hang a picture, much less attempt to do actual work on your investment.

They sent non licensed electricians to perform electrical work, and afterward we had loose and faulty outlets in several places. When we raised concerns, they said they would not fix them. They also hired very low quality contractors for repairs. At one point, I asked for only the garage ceiling to be painted black, and instead they painted all of the interior ceilings in my home black. When I objected, they tried to convince me to keep it. They eventually repainted the ceilings back to the original color, but they did not even remove hardware like dome lights and door hardware, so black paint was still visible underneath. When they told us the house was ready to move back into, many things still did not work. The garbage disposal was clogged, the dishwasher was clogged, the washer and dryer were not connected or plumbed correctly, the bathroom ceiling fans were not working, the doorbell stopped working, the fridge ice maker stopped working, and new garage outlets they installed did not even work. They blamed some of this on pre existing issues, but these problems appeared after their work. I also found that they billed insurance for work that was not actually completed. About a year later, I discovered they had never installed attic insulation as claimed. They only came back to do it after I caught it. Later, when the dishwasher clogged again and overflowed through the air gap, I checked under the sink and found a large kink in the garbage disposal hose from an improper installation. This was another example of careless workmanship. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that anyone using this company inspect every claimed repair very carefully and verify that the work was actually completed. Good packing service does not make up for poor restoration work and questionable repair practices.

The day they started, a guy shows up to work that can not speak english (very well, if at all) and does not know what the plan. This confusion was resolved within the hour when K.W. showed up, soon everything it under way. The "layering" of cement that was to take up to 4 days was finished in 1.5 days. The color of the "acid wash" applied was brown / tan and not black / green. Five days later, I asked about the softness of the cement and color and was told for EXTRA cost it could be corrected. I sent the payment and a letter to tell them what I thought about the job and it was not positive. K.W. attacked me with a lengthy rude email. This went back and forth. Unprofessional and rude!!! Metro Access Control (part of Metro Overhead Door) did an outstanding job in providing us with an…read moreautomated gate that's built to last with minimal maintenance and great aesthetics. More importantly, they truly exceeded my expectations for service. If only every company did business this way! In the course of six months, I contacted several dozen fence and gate companies in the area (practically everyone). Most of them failed to give me sufficient confidence I'd end up with anything close to what I was hoping to have accomplished, sometimes by their own admission. Many didn't even bother to return my calls or emails requesting a quote which left me feeling I'd likely have gotten the same treatment if I'd hired them. I'd almost lost faith I could ever get someone to complete this work and if you've been down the road of trying to have a custom gate put in, you probably know exactly what I mean. From my first meeting with Alex, my estimator / project manager, I received not only prompt but clear and precise communications. Ever write an email with three questions and get a reply responding to just one of them and ignoring the rest? This never happened with Alex. His replies were beyond thorough. I'd ask technical questions and he'd always have answers. Just the clarity of his responses is noteworthy because these days people think it's appropriate to send out typo-ridden, obscure replies from their phone with little or no thought. You can tell when people put time and effort in a response and Alex always did. This really facilitated the process of finalizing the gate design. Alex was very patient in answering ALL my questions (admittedly, I can't help but to be thorough and try to ferret out any issues in advance). He also set up meetings so I could put my questions to Todd (who did a phenomenal job fabricating and finishing the gate). Not only did I get answers but they took the time to send photos and let me come see the progress during the build. All of this helped set expectations at every stage so there wasn't a disconnect on what I thought would be built and what got delivered. Throughout, Alex and Todd provided many great suggestions and ideas for the gate design. Sean, who supervised the install, came out a couple times to quickly and effortlessly sort out implementation details. The install work happened in December on some truly cold days (like in the twenties with 35+ mph gusts on one of the days). Bill and Anthony worked all day outside in those conditions. All I can say is these guys are incredibly hardcore! They stuck to their timelines and did great work even under those circumstances. As someone who has managed a large number of complex IT projects in the past, I truly appreciated having Alex at the helm. He brought excellent communications, transparency, expert-level task/time management, and professionalism to ensure a successful outcome. I knew I was in good hands. I went into this with a general idea of what I wanted and Metro successfully handled all the complicated details. I genuinely felt a lot of enthusiasm from Metro in working on my project and I'm sure they bring that level of motivation to all their clients. In an age of lowered expectations, I'm inspired there are still people that deliver at such a high level.

They turned around a…read morehorrific experience with a first contractor, and gave me a result that I look forward to seeing in my home every single day. My house project was to cover the popcorn ceilings in two bedrooms to save the cost of removing the asbestos-positive material. I had hired a contractor previously to apply 1/2" drywall to the ceilings, mud it, sand it and apply texture to finish it off. I also hired him to frame out my attic entry (located in one of the bedrooms) to cover the popcorn and to give it a nice clean look. He, however, gave me a very dissatisfactory finished product. You could see every seam in the ceiling, the attic entryway had rough finishes and uneven/angled walls, the ceiling edges were rough and had gaps in the mud, and his texturing was sloppy and very uneven. Even after finally getting him to come back to fix his poor craftsmanship, he left me with an eyesore of a final product and extreme lack of professionalism and customer service during a phone call. I called up Thor's Hammer and explained my current situation. Troy and Andrea came over to the house right away to look over what I was left with. They were shocked as well by the work done previously, and were ready to start the project next day. Once work started, many safety issues and concerns arose from the work done by the first guy. The sheetrock wasn't even securely screwed into the studs, and over time, the ceilings would've sagged and dropped. Troy even found one small section of drywall that was only secured by mud to the surrounding sheets. It wasn't screwed to the studs at all. Troy and Ruper resecured all of the sheetrock with longer screws, watching the existing screws pop right out of the ceiling, proving they weren't secure. I'm so incredibly happy that I called Thor's Hammer Construction to have the work redone. I know my home is much more safe to live in now. Aside from that, my ceilings look smooth and texturing is even. Troy even built a new frame for inside the attic entry and added molding to the ceiling to finish it off. He also took the time to caulk the ceiling edges to fill in any gaps to ensure a smooth finish. Everything looks so beautiful! Troy and his partner did amazing work and were so willing to walk me through their work process and every step of the job. It was a night and day experience between them and the first contractor. Everyone was extremely professional and so understanding of the experience I had just gone through. They have gone above and beyond to make me happy, and they are still working with me to provide written documentation and photos, so I can take the next steps to try to get me money back from the first contractor. I highly recommend Thor's Hammer Construction, and will continue to use them for future projects.
