I'd say probably about 80% of the vendors are staples and there's about 20% new or seasonal vendors. Some of my favorites include the pretzel stand, fruit and tomato stand ($20 per bucket!), the paleta hand trucks and the one or two bakeries. I love supporting local. Plus, all the vendors above are super friendly and I love interacting with them on a weekly basis. As for prepared food (besides the pretzels), I'll be honest, I think most are pretty overpriced and I don't think anything stands out. We've tried a few food trucks and stands but it's been kind of disappointing every time. I'm waiting to be pleasantly surprised. I think the empanada stand is probably the best prepared food I've tried but I get it only once in a while (the line can be super long). The vibes are great. I think URBN Market has organized a fantastic weekly market at Mosaic and I love the seasonal event weekends too. Definitely check it out if you're in the area!

The market is pretty bare bones with two vegatable/fruit producers, a bakery, and a meat stand but there are a few exciting vendors that sell things like homemade fudge, juice, bbq and macarons. The two most personable vendors that I found at the market were Cascade Beverage Company which sold iced tea and the most amazing nitro kombucha that I've ever tried. At $12 for an entire growler, it's a steal! I also really enjoyed speaking to the owner of Liberty Farms of Virginia and his daughters who sold turkey, duck and chicken eggs in the most amazing assortment of beautiful colors. You can tell that they were a real family owned business and they were passionate about their product. You also get 25 cents off your purchase if you recycle an egg carton with them!

All that said, it has became a pandemic happy place for me because I can get fresh fruits and veggies, plants, honey, and herbs as well as bread, coffee, desserts, Mediterranean goodies, and Latin American eats. I look forward to enjoying an almond pastry with warm coffee as I carry fresh bread, tomatoes, empanadas with spicy sauce, and garlic whip to my car. The market is located in the parking lot right in front of the Arlington courthouse. There were over 50 vendors presenting appealing empanadas, cheeses, produce, mushrooms, pickles, teas, donuts, pork, coffee, cakes, juices, Dutch Stroopwaffles, oil, gelato, fish ... Fresh this week are leeks, asparagus, Brussels Sprouts, kohlrabi & rhubarb. The samples were better than I expected: a bite of the fresh crabcake wasn't what I'm used to and the warm homemade Dutch Stroopwafel was even better than the ones I tried in Amsterdam I'm impressed that the vendors accept SNAP/EBT, WIC & Senior FMNP checks. Fresh Match provides a dollar to dollar match on all federal benefits spent at this market. Shoppers are buying twice as much fresh produce & nutritious foods.
