What I really liked about Dylan was the straight up, no BS, no fluff attitude. He's a very patient guy! It took 6 months to find the house I wanted, and he stuck by me through thick and thin, working diligently to be sure we found exactly what I wanted. With the sale, if he saw something I could improve upon that could improve the sale, he didn't hesitate to let me know. What I appreciated the most though, was his realism. There were no outlandish expectations. For me, thats important in this business!

They have no courtesy to give someone a call to re schedule with us. Will never try to do business with them ever again.

We felt we were engaging a high-end real estate agency that could best promote our home. In May, we did get an accepted offer on the house but way under asking. Susan was not able to get the buyers to come up much at all on their price. Very soon after, we returned to our home to find that some furniture had been taken--a completely made king sized bed (pillows, mattress, blanket, etc) along with some distinctive children's furniture. No valuables (a new TV or other electronics) were taken. No locks were damaged or windows broken--someone had walked right in. We think the furniture was taken by a real estate agent to stage another house. When we spoke to our housekeeper, she told us that Susan has regularly left the house unlocked. When we checked the pool house, we found the key sitting in the lock. The house was then going into contract so we asked to Susan forgo a token amount of money from her hefty commission to cover the cost of the missing bed--the children's furniture was one-of-a-kind pieces and can't be replaced. But instead she had her manager--Katherine Jennings--send us a threatening letter saying that Susan could tell the buyers to back out of the deal unless we signed giving her the full commission. A direct quote from her email: "the buyers will walk away from the sale should the contract not be signed today." So the real estate agency we had hired to represent us not only left our home unprotected but were threatening to tank the deal altogether unless we agreed to the sale. If you decide to contract with the Millbrook office of Houlihan Lawrence to sell your home, you cannot be sure you are leaving your house in safe hands nor can you be sure they are working on your behalf. Selling your house is an emotional as well as a financial decision. I regret that we allowed ourselves to be wowed by the Houlihan Lawrence name and fancy website. Our final interactions with Katherine and Susan have left us angry and sad. Our final memories of being in our home will be of having our children's furniture taken and then being threatened by the real estate agents that were supposed to be representing us. Now, the only recourse I have are online reviews in the hopes that others will be able to avoid finding themselves in our situation.

When I explained multiple times that I wasn't interested in new construction, partly because I knew that there would be potential for cost overruns as well as my inability to be onsite regularly to ensure that everything was going smoothly, she pitched her services to manage the construction and then questioned my ability to afford it. This was frustrating but manageable. The more significant lack of respect for me and my time came when we had worked to schedule a day of showings. I have limited time and would need to travel for the showings and the evening beforehand she canceled the entire day because it was scheduled to rain. She claimed that I would be unable to appreciate any of the houses unless it was sunny and told me to "check the Zillow listings to find the agents if I wanted to see them myself." Amy is not a professional and does not care about you or your time. There are plenty of real estate agents in the area who do and I recommend you seek out someone else. Amy will waste your time trying to sell you something you don't want and will cancel at a moment's notice for no reason.
