The entire store is 20% off as they're having their Boxing Day sale. With my purchase, the employee also gave me a Popeye's branded t-shirt, Popeye's branded shaker cup and Popeye's bucks to use on a future purchase. Great experience and I'll definitely be back! On another note, my previous visit to this location I ended up buying quite a few items. They had a store wide sale a few days later, so I contacted the manager and he credited my account with the difference in price (what I paid vs. sale price). Highly recommend this store for your supplements!

Like to other reviewer mentioned they had an online division that now has a different name (no yelp page for that) and trying to order from them is painful now. Then the new owner of vitasave creeped me on Yelp trying to sell me stuff again! Now we use vitamart.ca

There is something about health food stores. I love going in an just browsing…read more It amazes me what can be used to help illnesses from the common cold to more serious diseases. For someone like myself who practically refuses to go to the doctor, it's important to me that health food stores have staff who are highly knowledgeable about the products and have some naturopathic background. Often I walk into these places and it's just a random person working behind the counter who suggest things to you, because they use it and, i'm certain, don't even know why they use it. Or, I get the pushy type that suggest 7 different things I've never heard of and convince me that there is something more wrong with me than I originally thought. Once I went in for some Vitamin C and Oil of Oregano for strep throat, and I left with almost 100 bucks worth of stuff . Most of which I couldn't pronounce and had absolutely nothing to do with current cold. Luckily I now have Nutraways. They offer sound advice and recommend items only when asked. They aren't pushy and their prices are pretty decent. They also have grocery items such as beauty products, canned vegetables, cereal, grains, local honey etc. I like picking up things like barley groats, cane sugar, kefir mix and even cough drops from here. All of these items are impossible to find anywhere else. Nutraways is a must for anyone who needs some advice on both daily supplements and treatment for more life affecting ailments. Side note: They have the best Moody Bee Honey Vanilla Peppermint lip balm. It's a must have.

At the Lonsdale shop, one orders and receives a delightful smoothie of one's choosing, then walks up to the till at the front of the store to pay. Another wee difference is that this store has no seating. To compare the two shops a bit further, I found the North Van location to be a bit more laidback than the Victoria's on Hornby. I'd imagine that the Hornby shop also sees a ton more foot traffic and that, too, could make for a less relaxed atmosphere. I came for the smoothies, but for the vitamin/supplement head, this store would seem to have all you need. (If not, then there's a competing health food store just down the road & across the street.) Visitors from Vancouver: take the bus from the ferry terminal straight up the hill, or, if you're feeling particularly spunky, walk!

Someone got the idea to renovate the space into an Integrative Holistic Mandala Pharmacy full of $100 face creams, locust juice kidney tonics, and plenty of woo. If you're into that kind of thing, you'll find all the jojoba soap you'd like to find, even if it's not from brands you're familiar with. As far as a pharmacy for filling prescriptions, I can't say. I went in to get some rubbing alcohol, as I need to IM inject for a medical condition. The labcoat person immediately made jokes as to whether or not I planned on drinking it there.
