I used to love Nutraways but then ownership changed in 2014 and they became Vitasave.ca. - I reviewed this store by mistake and have never been in so I revise up to 5 stars. Sorry guys! Like to other reviewer mentioned they had an online division that now has a different name (no yelp page for that) and trying to order from them is painful now. Used to be amazing, now you can't contact anyone, you get charged more than the site says, no one emails you back...very very disappointing. There is something about health food stores. I love going in an just browsing. It amazes me what can be used to help illnesses from the common cold to more serious diseases. For someone like myself who practically refuses to go to the doctor, it's important to me that health food stores have staff who are highly knowledgeable about the products and have some naturopathic background. Often I walk into these places and it's just a random person working behind the counter who suggest things to you, because they use it and, i'm certain, don't even know why they use it. Or, I get the pushy type that suggest 7 different things I've never heard of and convince me that there is something more wrong with me than I originally thought. Once I went in for some Vitamin C and Oil of Oregano for strep throat, and I left with almost 100 bucks worth of stuff . Most of which I couldn't pronounce and had absolutely nothing to do with current cold. Luckily I now have Nutraways. They offer sound advice and recommend items only when asked. They aren't pushy and their prices are pretty decent. They also have grocery items such as beauty products, canned vegetables, cereal, grains, local honey etc. I like picking up things like barley groats, cane sugar, kefir mix and even cough drops from here. All of these items are impossible to find anywhere else. Nutraways is a must for anyone who needs some advice on both daily supplements and treatment for more life affecting ailments. Side note: They have the best Moody Bee Honey Vanilla Peppermint lip balm. It's a must have. read more

Whenever I need supplements or natural remedies, I always go to this store first. They have a great selection of natural remedies, supplements & natural organic skin care products. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. I was in the store today to get a muscle pain cream that I use and have purchased there before. I was disappointed to find they didn't have any. Instead of just leaving it at that, the store clerk advised that it was no longer available in Canada due to some sort of distribution or supply issue. She told me that the store had researched what the most similar product available was and found something very similar that they now stock. I recommend this store to anyone who buys natural remedies and supplements. read more

Glad the ownership changed and seemingly very friendly people with some knowledge. Greatly dislike dishonesty because they always recommend the most expensive bottle. Unfortunately, I lost a personal item with great value and left it on their counter, I turned around and it was gone! There was only two customers in the store who were not around the counter. The girl who I was dealing with mentioned something about it and the other one was in the back...not sure exactly what happened but I have a guess. Never found it. Unfortunately, I also noticed they put ads up for seeking employees but never do they actually have an opening. Two acquaintances of mine noticed the same issue and had applied in different time periods - seems to be a way of free advertising for them. read more

I came here on a curiosity factor as I am always price shopping for PGX. Not only did they have PGX, however, they were the only place EVER in Canada locally that I have seen that carries the large tub of PGX nutra shake in Strawberry flavor. I keep seeing chocolate and vanilla around (which they have), however, they never have Strawberry which is awesome. It's $30 per jar which on the surface seems expensive, however, you get about 20 servings out of it. read more

Very impressed. I decided to pop in and ask a few questions regarding post workout protein powders. The lady working was knowledgable, straight-forward, kind and not pushy at all. Prices higher than Victoria Health, across the street. Salesperson not knowlegeable. Selection much more limited than Victoria Health. Sells 'groceries' made by big corporate giants that imo cannot be trusted with true health supplements, now that many brands have been bought out by the mega-corps. read more

My mom needed some fibre pills and after calling many stores to check availability we came across this store and decided to give them a ring as well. We live in Burnaby and when we called we had asked if they have them available to which they responded that they do. We then asked what the price is and we got transferred to a man with a middle eastern accent who began yelling at us saying that they do not give prices over the phone and that we need to go to the store to find out. He said they have the best prices in the lower mainland. Ok first of all, you need to relax because you're not selling million dollar cars you're selling SUPPLEMENTS. When a customer asks what the price is over the phone a reasonable thing to do would be answer and I'll decided for myself whether the price is good or not. What kind of business do you run?? Who do you expect to come up there when you don't give any information and are an ignorant moron. If you had told me the price I would have come up in a second regardless or whether the price was low or not. Instead you gave me an earful of stupidness because you're trying to use some stupid "car salesman" method of getting people into your store. I'm glad I didn't waste my time or money with you. A better tool for your business besides good pricing is customer reviews and word of mouth. I gladly support and help promote every business that is pleasant to deal with but yours is one I will stay away from. read more

Well, the shop has almost everything anyone could want, but I found two of the three female staff I encountered were aggressive, impatient, rude, disrespectful, and uptight. My first time in the store, I was pretty much attacked by an overzealous saleswoman whose aggression was shocking! I told her that I have a disability and could she please slow down. Then, after she didn't slow down and was still unbearably aggressive, I told her that I just wanted to look around alone, in a relaxed manner. She gave me a disgusted look, made a rude comment, and walked away. Then, when I went in to exchange a soap I had purchased (the saleswoman couldn't tell me what was in it, but that it was all natural) that, according to the manufacturer's website, has fragrance in it, the woman sniffed it and sniped at me with more than just a touch of arrogant and sarcastic criticism, "It's odd you didn't smell it." Yet another antagonistic response! I didn't expect kelp soap to have fragrance in it. Those women are bullies! As a new customer, I felt 100% disrespected. I suppose they feel that they can treat customers any way they want because they don't have much competition. read more

I really like going to Nutraways for my supplements. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the prices are better than some other places I have been to. As well they have a good selection of health supplements. read more
