I reached out to United Industrial yesterday to request a small capacity forklift for the next day…read more(today, as I am writing this). I explained our company's very last minute plight of having a tight loading dock area and a vendor delivering a large (10' x 5' x 5') steel frame ( over 1,000 lbs) on a stake side truck with no means to help us unload it. We needed a forklift to simply lift the frame from the truck and place it on our dock, sounds simple, maybe 10 minutes total. Well it almost wasn't. Danielle was more than sympathetic and was extremely helpful in finding a solution. They didn't have any light duty fork lifts available next day, but said they did have one large one available and they would offer it to us at the light duty price!! Not only that, if it were such a short amount of time, they would allow us to use it and reload right then and there- no pickup fee, just delivery!!! That alone sounds great, but what really compelled me to write the review was the operator, Manny. Manny arrived on time and navigated our difficult alleyway without issue (a feat most delivery trucks don't even accomplish). Then, offered to operate the forklift for me!! It gets better. The vendor was woefully unprepared, in regards to ways to hold the frame. Manny figured out the safest way to move it, and took care of everything!!! It also ended up being a complete stroke of luck that we used the larger forklift because the smaller one may not have worked given what Manny had to do. Honestly I cannot thank Danielle or Manny enough- they really saved my day, would recommend them over any other rental company!!!! If I could give 6 stars I would. Just great people! -mike

Please do yourself a favor and DO NOT rent/buy/lease from this company. They knowing supply faulty…read moreequipment to their customers and then charge their customers for every repair required (of which their are certainly NO shortages of!) Safety issues abound with this equipment, and their own mechanics will attest to the fact that their business practices are less-than-moral; we were told on more than one of the many occasions that their mechanics visited our company to repair equipment they had supplied to us that they are known for slapping a coat of paint on their fork-lifts and shipping them out to unsuspecting customers, all the while being acutely aware of the mechanical issues they possess. (These are the people who WORK for United Industrial!!!) Our company is currently trapped into a lease with United Industrial Service for a fork lift that poses major safety hazards in addition to constantly breaking down. To anyone interested in working with this company please save yourself and your employees the aggravation and potential for injury and look elsewhere. I wish we had researched this company in depth prior to signing any type of agreement to procure the piece of junk they supplied to us!
