I was referred to Nutmeg Mechanical by 3 different people so it was an easy choice to have them provide me with a quote for the mini split A/C units. I asked them to also provide me a quote with replacing my 26 year old oil fed steam boiler and electric water heater to gas units. Quentin was the sales person I worked with and he was great. I was provided a great price for all 3 jobs and was able to take advantage of the home heating loan through Capital 4 Change. Quentin was attentive and followed up on all of my questions. Day one Quentin arrived prior to the 12 man crew to make sure everything was good to go and to ensure that the crew knew the expectations of the day. Every person was respectful of my home, cleaning up at the end of the day, and took the time to personally introduce themselves to me. A glass window pane broke on my basement door and the crew immediately replaced it with cardboard and by 9am the following day a glass company was on site to replace the glass. On Day 2, the job was done at 2:30 but there were some challenges in setting up the wi-fi for the A/C. Adam called Leo, another salesman, for assistance and Leo arrived quickly. Together they worked until the issue was resolved without any question and plenty of patience. I would highly recommend Nutmeg for their professionalism, ease of doing business, and great service. Now I am worry free for my heat and not dreading the heat of the summer with my mini split units. Thank you Nutmeg! read more

This is one company that not only knows their stuff but beats the competition in personal and customer service. We needed some help several years ago, called Nutmeg and was lucky enough to speak with Henry. He's unbelievable! He walked us through instructions over the phone just like he was standing next to us and with his help we were able to fix the problem ourselves saving us big $$! Then a few days ago we had a problem with a heat pump...Once again, called Nutmeg, talked with Harry and once again everything is working! Seems like no matter when you call, he takes the time to talk and work with you to solve the solution where other companies are quick to send out a tech, who most times either has no clue but is ready to sell you something. These days it seems that so many companies care more about the bottom line and their employees act like it's an imposition if you ask questions and rather just bill you for a service call. People will go out of their way to write negative remarks about businesses and services but few will say thank you ... So thank you again to Nutmeg, Harry and his staff for great customer service! read more

I am very impressed with Nutmeg Mechanical. I used them once this year before yesterday on a recommendation from a school friend to maintenance my furnace and air conditioner. My central air conditioner started blowing only hot air 2 nights ago so i called them and of course they was closed. I left a message for the front desk and i emailed Kim hoping one of my messages would get through. It was 90 degrees in my house during this time and i was concerned for my 12 year old dog who was panting like crazy and I'm not a spring chicken either but i wasn't sure having only used them once before if i would hear back from them in the morning. Well i got a phone call from Kim when they opened that morning and she sent out Matt (i believe his name was) he was very knowledgeable and went back and got my parts from the office and in no time it was fixed! I cant thank them enough for caring about a customer they only had one other time. They are what the true meaning of caring about their customers is all about and i have used other companies in the past to be able to compare them. Thank you Team Nutmeg read more

I needed to install (2) new heating and cooling systems in my rental properties. The old units were 30 yrs old and undersized. I called four different companies. All four ranged within a few thousand dollars of each other. Nutmeg's price wasn't the cheapest but there presentation and professionalism stood out by far. I was given several options to choose from in different efficiency ratings and price. Quentin came to the property more than once to go over all of my questions. On the day of the installation they brought in several crews and had both old units removed and new ones installed in less than a day. When I arrived on site towards the end of the installation every technician greeted me with a smile even after working all day in the heat. After the install Kevin walked me through both units showing me everything that was done and answered any questions I had. Very professional organization. I would definitely recommend them and plan on using them for all the maintenance that these units need. read more

Just moved into a new house that due to age, required a new furnace and A/C unit as a result of the forced hot air configuration. This is the second time I have had Nutmeg install a Carrier A/C system in our house (the first one in Portland) and not only do they provide a fair price for their work, their installation staff is great. I work from home and even though there were 6 technicians here for the entire day, I barely could hear them working. They clean up all the old debris and leave the job broom clean. The lead man made sure I understood how the new system worked, had all the paperwork set aside in one spot for my future reference, and even went through a project completion checklist with me to make sure we were satisfied with the job before he left. The new unit working great but I expect nothing less from Carrier! Thanks Quentin for your pre-sales engineering expertise and the rest of the Nutmeg team! read more

I woke up to a freezing cold home. My toes were numb. I had no heat. I had called the company I usually (did) business with but nobody called me back, until 6 hours later. And that was to only tell me they doubted they could help me. Long story short, I ended up calling Nutmeg. It was probably a streak of luck but I got a call back within 5 minutes from a service technician (Jim B) stating he was actually 20 mintues away. I could go on in further detail about what was wrong with my heating unit, but I'd rather focus on all that is right. Jim B's dedication to customer service, his professionalism, his concerns, his experience and knowledge and, him taking the time to explain to me what he did and why he did it. And, what to do if there is a next time. He took a cold winters day and turned it into sunshine. I strongly suggest Nutmeg for any of your needs. They're the best! read more

Service Rooted in Experience -- Ask for Jim the Tooth! When it comes to HVAC service, experience makes all the difference and Jim the Tooth proves it every time. He's serviced both my ductless split system and my high-efficiency oil burner with a level of knowledge and care that only comes from years in the field. Even before he was with Nutmeg Mechanical, Jim saved my aging oil burner from the brink, extending its life and restoring its efficiency when others might have recommended replacement. That kind of insight doesn't come from a manual; it comes from decades of hands-on problem-solving. Jim doesn't just fix things -- he explains, educates, and ensures the system runs better than before. If you want service that's thoughtful, thorough, and backed by real-world experience, ask for Jim. You'll be amazed by what he knows -- and what your system can do under his care. read more

My furnace stopped working at a time the temps were down to the teens. I had never used the company before but called them first time in the morning and they got someone out to my house the same day. They got here even a few mins early than than they originally estimated. The guy was very pleasant and professional and diagnosed the issue in minutes. I needed a part replaced and so he found were it was available and drove to get it and got back quickly and finished fixing it quickly. I also think they were very reasonably priced and they were very detailed about what each cost was and how it added up to the amount. I will definitely be using this company again and recommending them to friends and family. I couldn't be happier with my experience with them. read more

Matt L, last spring, diagnosed our 28 year old A/C unit as dead. He was right. The Nutmeg folks replaced it with a new and somewhat larger Carrier unit. The job took one day. Access to our attic was awful but there were no complaints. They did exactly what they said they would and cleaned up as well. We've been very pleased with the new A/C unit as it worked very well all last summer. It was recommended that we use their annual service program to make certain the unit is ready well before the hot weather sets in. Matt and Jim just left after performing their annual checkup on our equipment. It has been a pleasure doing business with Nutmeg Mechanical. We recommend them highly. Bill C Tolland, CT read more

Matt Laprad was the field technician who came to my house on July 11. He was polite, professional and very well informed. Very pleasant and changed my hot water heater that day. Did not leave a mess behind. My friend Susan Derby in Manchester recommended Nutmeg and had very positive things to say about Matt. We both did not know about the $25.00 gift card reward for her eligibility for referring me and purchases between $100.00 to $2,000.00. I spent $1,500. Could you notify her that she has won the $25.00 gift card? I will always use Nutmeg as my servicer of my central air and any other mechanical needs. Very positive experience with Matt. He's a keeper. Lucille J. Mulligan read more

Nutmeg installed a heat pump connected to 3 Mitsubishi mini-splits. Of the several proposals I solicited, they were the only one to propose installing the heat pump behind the house and run the pipes in the ceiling of the basement so as to install a single brown pipe on the front of the house that connects to each of the three mini-split units on the first, second and third floor. We live in a historical house. The historical society would have refused placing the huge heat pump on the front wall of the house. The team of installers worked like a real team, pleasant and competent individuals. Good communication. You pay after the job is done. I would recommend them with a five star rating. read more

The professionals at Nutmeg Mechanical were terrific. From meeting with the Leo who started the process to the wonderful gentlemen who did the install - the entire process was hassle and stress free. An extra shout out the the installers - they were friendly and courteous at all times. They even went the extra mile by removing an old attic fan - also making it easier to get into our attic and the added surprise of an outlet next to the outdoor unit. They tested the unit and explained how it worked before they left. The workspaces was left clean and neat I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking to install the ductless air conditioning/heating unit. read more

We needed a new water heater as ours was 10 years past its expected life (we just moved in). We have used Nutmeg Mechanical in the past and knew that we wanted to work with them because of their attention to detail, fast service and fair pricing. When the workmen were replacing the water heater, I pointed out our furnace to one of them and said that maybe we should consider replacing it also. He looked it over and asked me how well it worked. When I said that there were no issues, he said that we definitely could wait a few more years to replace it. I was impressed; he could have made an easy sale by agreeing that it needed to be replaced. I would recommend this business. read more

I could not be more satisfied with this company's service. I came home one Saturday night and realized I had no heat in the middle of January. I was concerned about the dramatic drop in temperature because I have a cat with sensitive, severe heart disease. I called at least three different companies and they could not help because they did not do after hour calls especially on the weekends. A friend of mine told me about Nutmeg and I called them immediately. They sent a technician who was there within a half hour!! After only a hour he had the problem fixed and I regained heat. I strongly recommend this company for their devotion, professional technicians and amazing service! read more

No need to "sweat it out" when Nutmeg Mechanical Services is on your job! Had a new central A/C system installed by another company in 2014. The A/C started acting up, that's when we discovered the original company had never submitted the warranty paperwork which would have covered the problem. We opted to use Nutmeg to help resolve the issue and are so grateful we did. The response was immediate, effective and efficient. Our professional technician, Matt, diagnosed the issue quickly, suggested a cost effective fix, made the repair and the A/C has been running at 100% efficiency since. We highly recommend Nutmeg Mechanical Services. read more

We had a wonderful experience with Nutmeg replacing our furnace and central A/C. Quentin was very quick to give us an idea of what options we had for replacements and without a 2 hour long sales pitch. Nutmeg also came in more than 1/3 below a local competitor's price. The process was seamless, they dealt with the electrician, town inspector and rebate process. They also provided follow up calls to make sure everything was running ok and a thank you card for our business! They are a big enough company to handle big projects but feel like a small business. read more

I give Nutmeg Mechanical Services 5 stars for the work they completed in my home. After years of living with Oil, I decided to install a Gas Line and convert to a Bosch (Combi) Gas Condensing Boiler. This was no small job and Nutmeg's crew did an excellent job! They installed the new Boiler plus removed the old furnace & water heater, making the transition seamless. Many thanks to Jeff Grieco, (sale specialist) and the entire crew for all your hard work and due diligence. I recommend Nutmeg if planning to convert from Oil to Gas in the near future! read more

It's with pleasure that I write this review for the furnace replacement provided by Nutmeg Mechanical. Very happy with their service, Anthony and his team we're courteous and a pleasure to work with. A+ for timeliness and neatness. Anthony even wore booties while walking through out my home, thank you for being respectful and easing my nervousness of getting any stains on my newly carpeted family room. I will be in touch with you again, Nutmeg Mechanical, we'll need to have our Central Air unit serviced for the spring/summer season. read more

Over past couple of years Nutmeg has replaced my furnace and most recently my central AC with a heat pump. in botch cases the entire process from first contact to instalation was flawless. I have deat either their estimator, installers and service people all have been knowledgeable and professiona. Whole process from first contact to completed installation was remarkably fast. I got a separate quote for the new AC heat pump and based on that for similar equipment I think Nitmegs prices were reasonable. I reccomend them highly read more
