You'll probably learn more from playing Xbox all day or hustling (math skills) then attending this crappy do nothing school . When I went to this "school" (if you can call it that) students would sell dope, snow and gamble, fight and steel in the locker room when the fat lazy gym teacher talked on this phone outside while eating a donut and drinking coffee .Principal Morano and the rest of the district are techphobes (Mike the lazy IT guy as hes known wines about how he hates PCs and loves Apple) and Morano it was his way each student would have to bring in logs in the winter time (to heat the joint), a small chalkboard and a feather to write with (no fancy pall point pens students may get distracted). Some students are so behind at RHS, in the sped class they review the alphabet (no joke) watch kids TV shows, write letters to Santa and play with childrens toys. If you live in the town run fast, send your kid to a private school or home school. If I could give this school 0 stars I would. I also heard that they want to get rid of the pool that the students can't and dont use and turn it into a cafeteria so students will NOT be able to leave for lunch any more. If there was a way to return my diploma to get 4 years of my life back I would.

Chaminade is an independent Catholic college-preparatory high school which truly prepares its students to the real world. I had the pleasure to attend the 2000 graduation ceremony of my former love's brother and the added pleasure to attend live performances of past off-Broadway shows: "Succeed in Business Without Really Trying" and "Guys and Dolls." Tuition is very expensive and entry admittance is not very easy. I highly recommend this school for any parents and young men who are entering their high school years. It is a "coming of age" to young men. Chaminade High School's notable alumni are: George Kennedy, 1943, Academy Award-winning actor and Bill O'Reilly, 1967, a political commentator; host of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor.

I dare say many of my college classes are easier than those I took at Chaminade. The workload was pretty bad, but again this prepared me well for college and gave me good study habits. I graduated here before they started offering their AP courses, but I'm assuming the academics are still top-notch. They were pretty strict with things like uniforms, cheating, and general classroom nuisance, but I really don't recall many egregiously unfair punishments handed out. Most of my classmates were great and I'm still friends with many of them in college. I never really saw any bullying going on, and even those who I didn't like the most were better people than most at other schools. In terms of the good morals stuff, yeah I'll say that part's a little overrated. They definitely teach you to be the best person possible, and I will say most of my classmates were good people. But some parents try to act like everyone who goes here is a saint or never does anything bad in their life. This just isn't true. A lot of drinking and drugs (mostly just weed) goes on here. Again most of even those who party and stuff are decent enough, it's just perhaps not the most "saintly" place ever like some parents will have you believe. It's one of those places that you don't like, at the moment when you're going there because of the course load and how stressed you will be. But once you look back on it a couple of years into college, you'll see how good it was and how well it likely prepared you.

Newark offers the international baccalaureate (IB) degree. It is a mysterious degree that the…read moreschool brags about that they use to claim they are a high level academic achieving degree. There are many problems with the IB program. The easiest problem to demonstrate is that IB classes and exams can only be taken in only in the junior and senior year. There are many amazingly academic students that must wait until junior year to take the IB exam. If you look internet you will see many smart student question this policy. Are all student homogeneous? Do all student suddenly become smart at the same time? The school had tried to get rid of all AP exams but have failed in many areas. The most notable is math. There are many kids taking AP calculus in middle school and quite a few finish both AP calculus exams in middle school. The school could not also get rid of AP history. AP history is done in the sophomore year. After further review the science depart felt that AP Physic C was more rigorous than IB Physic HL. There were problems with the Econ SL class that the econ teacher created a Econ honor class to replace it. Unfortunately all other AP classes have been banished from newark. At one time classes were designated as hybrids AP/IB classes. This allows many of its students to achieve AP national scholar status which requires the a student to pass for AP exams with a score of 4 or above. IB is also very expensive compared to AP for the school. The school tuition is outrageously expensive. IB program is contributing to this outrageous high tuition.
