Just walked in here to check this place out. I really wanted to go in and enjoy walking around and…read moreeven buy something. They have a good selection of products pre checked so if your vegan u don't have to check the label. The reason why I gave 1 Star is because the lady at the counter said she's pro vegan and she's an extremist vegan (her words) so she blurted all this crap out and questioned why I ate meat and wore leather. I was gonna buy some items but felt like I have having someone else's beliefs shoved down my throat and I walked out. Never will I go back in here again!

The new owners have taken everything we love about One Earth and given it a new lease of life, with lots of new products I have never seen on sale in Birmingham before For example the amount of cheese they stock is ridiculous and certainly 100% Vegan's strong point. I picked up some Vio Life olive slices last Saturday which I am excited about trying on my lunch shortly! As someone who is newly diagnosed with a wheat intolerance, I found so many items in store that I had I was allowed to have and found impossible to buy anywhere else. Examples include, wheat free biscuits, miso, cereals, flour and Hendersons relish!!!! I have looked everywhere for that in Birmingham and at last found it! 100% Vegan stock a massive range of pastries and cakes made locally which you cannot resist picking up when you visit, I have been to many Vegan stores across the country and what I haven't seen is genuine special offers. Not things going out of date "offers" but proper ones. I spotted quite a few in 100% Vegan last Saturday. I am a massive bargain hunter so was so pleased! With The Warehouse Café next door going from strength to strength, I am sure that 100% Vegan will be very successful over the next year. Go pay them a visit!

Vitamin Shop

I like to keep fit and am always interested in new ways of doing this so when I saw the words…read more"Health, strength, vitality" underneath the shop name I thought I'd check it out. I'm going to be honest, I was disappointed that they don't sell all vitamins here and most of them were for body building. However they did sell a few common vitamins such as E and C. When I asked the woman questions like "Have you got anything to help the immune system" and "What does this vitamin do" she didn't have a clue! Half stuff she said sounded like she'd just made it up and the rest she was reading of the packet. I could do that!! I think the shop could massively improve if their staff new everything about their products and how an individual and keep fit and gain the body they want, leaflets may also help this too. They could also sell a few more common vitamins, not just body building ones. This shop is for people who want to build muscles but I'd recommend doing your research before you buy anything from here.

I'll sometimes go upstairs to the gym at the fitness club that I'm a member of and lift some weights. After training, I might have a banana. I know some people who take the development of their bodies very seriously indeed. The kind of people that always go on about a chicken and broccoli diet or who now how many carbs what individual food has. They're the kind of people that religiously smash down protein shakes straight after their work out and take supplements. For those people who wan tot look like the statue outside, then Vitamin Shop is ideal. They have huge tubs of muscle-gainers, protein powders, creatine, fat-burners and amino acids, as well as some stranger products like testosterone (!) and industrial-strength energy drink powders. Pre-workout supplements come in the form of the macho-named 'Jack3D', 'Super Pump' and 'Animal Rage'. All are available at below the prices you'd pay elsewhere, with up to 40% off the recommended retail price.

I love food, I love to indulge in a tipple (or two) of a night out and I don't care too much for running, jumping and generally doing that "fitness" thing I hear is all the rage these days. My one redeeming health feature is that I do take vitamins and drink herbal tea. Granted, I don't get all of my supplements from Holland and Barrett (that would just work out too expensive), but they are good for getting certain "hard-to-find" or "Specialist" bits and pieces. They also regularly have clearance items - meaning you can sometimes find a real bargain! They have a loyalty card scheme and do regular sales (such as "Buy one and get one for a penny" and "half price") which can result in hefty discounts. I tend to find that even with my purchases (at around £10 a month), I qualify for 50p off with my discount card fairly regularly - making it worth my while. There is also a bonus 250 points (or that was the case when I joined) added to your card when you join the scheme, meaning you get £2.50 off their products with points voucher. I can recommend several of their products! For one, check out the tea section. There are great herbal teas and special blends to encourage vitality (for both sexes), help to ease the pain of certain ailments and promote good health for others. The main reason I have used Holland and Barrett so consistently is the friendly and helpful staff. If you have a question about supplements or a specific ailment you want to treat, they can normally lead you in the right direction for something to help and have lots of great advice when it comes to their products. So, in summary... Holland and Barrett. It's nothing special, it's just a chain, it can be expensive but the knowledge of the staff (and consistently good customer service) have always kept me going back. If you are in the market for new health related products, drop in and have a look!

The selection of products has increased considerably and rather than feeling bit dingy and tired, it's now light, bright and airy. They have all the main things you expect such as supplements, nuts, dried fruit, healthy things as well as some small selection of beauty products. I recommend you look in regularly to take advantage of the special offers they periodically have. I bagged myself a huge carton of EPA capsules (500) at half its usual price and also big 50% discount on the 2nd jar of glucosamine sulphate when buying one anyway.
