Saw Dr. Brook today because Im pregnant with a breech baby. I found her on Yelp while trying to find a holistic approach in flipping my baby into the optimal head down position. She was so friendly, warm, and intuitive. It was my first time seeing a chiropractor, I was slightly nervous and def had many misconceptions about a chiropractor. But the whole experience was super positive. Her office is very comfortable and she has many resources. I love that she combines many different techniques and really customizes them to your needs. She is very knowledgable. During the session, she applied gentle pressure and pointed out some tight spots, which with some manipulation, felt much better after. I was pleasently surprised. She kept checking the baby to make sure it was moving and that she wasn't making me uncomfortable. I'm so happy to have found Dr. Brook! I first started seeing Dr. Brook to help regulate my hormones to prepare my body to handle a healthy pregnancy. I was nervous to get acupuncture, but Dr. Brook makes the experience enjoyable. I saw Dr. Brook in 2015 when I was expecting my baby. I have EDS type 3 and was initially scared to look for help with my SPD, concerned they could harm more than heal. I am very glad that I found her, Dr. Brook is very knowledgeable and was able to help me. Initially I had trouble getting in and out of the car and sometimes it was very difficult to walk. Her treatments improved my situation a lot and I was able to move with much ease until the end of my pregnancy. Dr. Brook is one of those people it is hard to imagine life without! She is super gentle and super strong. I wasn't afraid to see her when I was pregnant and I knew that she could handle all my aches and pains. She is so approachable and so kind and friendly. I think everyone believes that they are her best friend. I also went to see her when we were having problems getting pregnant. Dr Brook has been a a lifesaver for me over the past year. I started seeing her during my second trimester of pregnancy when I had unbearable headaches that would not go away. She fixed my headaches and continued to treat all of the normal aches and pains that come as pregnancy progresses. She even adjusted me on my first day of labor! Now that my baby is here I have continued to see her for regular adjustments as I transition from pregnant to breastfeeding and carrying my baby. My husband and mother also see Dr. Brook for adjustments to treat neck and back pain from traveling for work and every day life! I am so grateful to have found Dr Brook! I first went to see her heavily pregnant, with a baby who had just turned breech, and finding myself suddenly unable to walk-so locked up were my back and hips from commuting. Dr Brook is my favorite kind of practitioner- a medical expert with a holistic approach. I felt in safe hands from the moment I arrived at her office- she is warm and encourages you to open up before she skillfully adjusts you back into shape. With visits to Brook, my baby found and kept a good position (even though the little one kept playing with the idea of being sunny side up) I felt so supported to have an empowered labor, and always left Dr Brook's office feeling cared for and that she really goes above and beyond for her clients. My OB said that seeing a good chiropractor would help me in labor and she was right. After an enjoyable labor, my 2nd daughter was born in just a few pushes. I cannot say enough positive things about Dr Brook. She started seeing me during my last pregnancy and was VITAL in getting my body back on track, gave me great 'homework' of how to keep moving, and so much support- I had special physical needs that she addressed with great delicacy and warmth. She supported me throughout that pregnancy and postpartum. When i had issues a few years later with fertility and 'getting my cycle back' -Dr Brook helped me (in just one session I got my period back after 2 1/2 years!) back on the horse and I was able to conceive not long after her sessions began again. I highly recommend Brook! As other reviewers have said, she helped my lower back and pelvic pain during pregnancy but she's also awesome to talk to about the birthing process itself. I always felt more informed about my body and what was happening to it when I left her. She's really personable and carries a genuine care for her patients too. Dr. Brook is amazing. I saw her during my pregnancy with baby #2 and she was such an integral part of my support team throughout- and even after birth. I had a big baby (10lb 8oz!) and being only 5'2" it was a lot of stress on my body- particularly my back. Dr. Brook's treatment as well as her recommendations for at home exercises/stretches, were critical in keeping me moving and pain free- especially towards the end of my pregnancy. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Brook. She helped me immensely throughout my first pregnancy as well as postpartum. I am so glad I met Dr Brook! She helped me out while I was pregnant and had severe pain running down my thighs and once I gave birth, my pubic bone had shifted which hurt so much that I couldn't even walk. Dr. Brook Merkel is a godsend to my family and I. For 9 years, heartbreak and disappointment filled my life as my husband and I tried to have our second child. Since fertility treatments were too expensive and my concurrent miscarriages were devastating we finally decided it was time to stop trying for another child. But my sister tells me of a friend she went to school with, who just moved back to the city. And that's when I met Dr. Merkel and trying for baby #2 commenced. She is amazing, smart, and ready to listen. When I thought all hope was lost she made me comfortable and gave me confidence in my fertility journey to try for a second child. After I completed my session with her, which for my husband and I is affordable and at the same time it was holistic. I thought it would take many months or even a year to get pregnant and/or not even get pregnant. I was just happy with how I was feeling and how well my body took to Mercier therapy. She made me comfortable and helped me feel amazing no matter the outcome. After 2 months I got pregnant, and throughout my pregnancy I had support with Dr. Brooke using acupuncture. I am pleased to say I have a healthy baby boy! To say I am beyond thrilled is an understatement. I found a doctor who not only helped me be the healthiest I have ever been, but she helped me achieve my dream.
