PT was disappointing at a few times per week and about 20 mins per session. The room service was horrible, sometimes up to an hour after pressing the Call button. Food was tasty but often arrived up to an hour after standard meal times, and often cold. The aides were a mixed bag. Some were downright nasty and my wife advised that one yelled at her and made her cry. At meal times, the whole staff seemed to go eat at the same time, leaving no one to service patients. I'd stay away from this place and choose a smaller facility with more personable service. Its administratively out of control up to the top. They need a Quality task force composed of top management and line workers to view the daily routine and get intensive feedback from the patients. BOTTOM LINE: STAY AWAY UNTIL MANAGEMENT POSTS THEIR REPORT ON HOW THEY'VE CLEANED THINGS UP

I was not a fan of them moving in due to my perception of "nursing homes" but I learned otherwise in the four+ years they were there. Literally every single person we interacted with from the nursing staff to rehab to cooks, laundry, maintenance staff, etc. was like family. The professional level of care that my parents received (and us as their family) cannot be overstated except to compare it to the compassion that went with it. We were really clueless about what the last years of their lives was going to entail, and the staff here did it so much better than we ever could have. My husband and I ended up getting on the waiting list and now have a deposit down on one of the carriage homes being built; it doesn't get any better than this for end of life experiences. Aside from the fact that the carriage homes are gorgeous, the kind of care that is there as a "safety net" is exactly what we want. The added bonus is us both being on the same campus if one of us starts to fail in later years; not only does the other one not have to move, they can walk to visit, take meals and do activities together, and in some cases actually be together in the advanced care. (My parents were together in Memory Care.). I highly recommend Lutheran Home @ Telford.

My father moved into independent living while my mom had to go into skilled nursing. My father is able to visit my mom everyday since they were located within the same campus. Bad weather no problem, you only have to walk across an enclosed bridge. The various levels of care both my parents have been receiving is exemplary. Telford Lutheran is like the Ritz Carlton of care facilities. When I would visit my Aunt in Florida I wondered why she did not get the same care at her facility. She was paying almost the same every month. Telford may be a little more than other communities but it shows in the care and people they hire. If you are searching for a place for your parents I would put Telford Lutheran on your list to review. You will not be disappointed.

He has…read morea dementia diagnosis, yet the admissions office had him sign the paperwork and consents for treatment. I walked in to visit him on his first day there and found the paperwork laying on table on the other side of the room! He also had some medical issues that needed to be addressed and the nursing staff blew him off on multiple occasions. I am a Registered Nurse and despite multiple requests to call the doctor for a chronic skin condition, the nurses caring for him would not call the doctor to get an order for the medication used to treat it. Their solution was to apply moisture barrier cream to his face that caused further irritation and burned his skin! They kept applying it knowing full well that it was making it worse. He had an open and draining rash on his face and as a result, he developed a bad infection! Unbelievable! I only gave the 1 star because it would not accept my review without a star rating. There are many facilities that provide excellent care with caring staff. Do NOT send your loved one to Elm Terrace!

She made herself available 24/7, often coming in on her days off to check on my mom and support us. She went above and beyond in every way and was there with us during my mother's final moments, even though it was her weekend off. Her presence brought us peace during the hardest time of our lives. Valerie, the social worker, was another incredible blessing. She came every day, offering emotional and spiritual support. She prayed with and talked to my mother daily, bringing her comfort and peace until she passed.My mom also looked forward to her weekly visits from the massage therapist, which gave her both physical relief and joy. The chaplain visited regularly, and my mom loved their conversations and time together. Her aide was attentive, kind, and always made sure things were done just the way my mom liked.We are forever grateful to the entire Ascend team. Then, as others said, she gave me lots of exercises and printouts so I could do those exercises at home. She even video taped me doing the new exercises in her office so I could refer to them again at home. She's flexible with her schedule and always pleasant. Yes, it's one on one.....there's none of this, "go in that exercise room and do your exercises and then come out and see me", no! She stays with me all the way and guides me. She knows right where to massage and put the tools of her trade on my shoulder to help reduce the pain, which always works.
