Extremely poor customer service -- local customers deserve better…read more I reached out to Direct Flooring Outlet after seeing the reviews and wanted to get a local quote after finding the flooring I was looking for online. I used their website to request a free quote and was contacted by Dan Versman, the owner's son. Dan initially told me they would likely be able to match the price I had found and that he would put together a quote. What followed was one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I've had in a very long time. I received several one-sentence emails from Dan asking questions that I had already answered in my original email. Rather than continuing this back-and-forth, I simply asked if we could have a quick phone call to discuss it. No response. I then called the main office. The woman who answered gave me Dan's phone number and specifically told me to text him and that he would get right back to me. He never did. Not once. I waited until the following week, giving them plenty of time and being more than patient. Later that afternoon, I sent another email and called again. Eventually, at the end of the day, I received a response saying: "This isn't worth it for us, we're going to pass." That's it. I have worked in customer service for over 25 years, and this was honestly one of the worst experiences I've had dealing with a company. I wasn't asking for anything unreasonable. I was a local customer trying to purchase a substantial amount of flooring and simply wanted a quote and a conversation about pricing. What makes it worse is that I called the main office afterward specifically to explain my experience. I was told that Lou Versman would be informed and would call me back. He never called. At some point, businesses need to be accountable for the level of service they provide. If you say you're going to call someone back, call them back. If you say you're going to provide a quote, follow through. If you don't want the business, that's fine -- just communicate that professionally and promptly. Your website has a commercial talking about the level of service you provide to local customers. Based on my experience, that message does not match the reality of dealing with your company. I ended up having to order the flooring from over the hill, which was a major inconvenience, simply because a local company couldn't be bothered to follow through with a basic customer inquiry. And Dan Versman's lack of communication, respect, and professionalism was obvious throughout this entire experience. The lack of care and respect shown toward a potential customer speaks volumes about how seriously he takes the people who are trying to give his business their money. And Dan -- giving your own company a 5-star review and then the company responding to that review looks pretty crooked from a customer's perspective. At the very least, it raises some serious questions about the credibility of the reviews on this business. SMH. If you're looking for flooring, go somewhere else. There are companies that will actually communicate with you, follow through, and treat you with basic respect.

I gave Showcase a 5+ when the door was first installed. Then I had a problem. Miserable…read moreexperience! I would give them a Zero if Yelp offered it. The problem showed up two days after door installation. Large cracks appeared in the the threshold tiles under the bottom panel mounting bracket and under the bottom hinge. The hinge also looked damaged and the door stuck in the closed position. I reported this to Chris expecting a helpful voice on the other end of the phone: not! Without seeing anything he blamed it on the tile people, then emphatically demanded a charge of $500. per visit to deal with it. I was quite surprised at this turn in demeanor from him! I had no option but to have him come out to remove the door. When he removed the door we both discovered that the door glass itself had damaged the hinge. But Chris was still insistent that the tile guys did a bad job. To figure this out I talked with the hinge manufacturer and determined that the hinge had been installed backwards, which led to stress on the tile and damage to the hinge. Chris was still not cooperative. Fortunately the tile people were terrific. They rebuilt the broken tiles, properly installed an identical replacement hinge and offered to do it at no charge. I happily paid them, JC Tile in Seaside, CA, what I would have paid Chris. I Do Not recommend Showcase. Beautiful door, not of their doing, and Chris, the owner, turned out to be dreadful to work with. Don't do it!

He had all the coolest equipment (laser levelers for both horizontal and vertical markings, etc.). It has been 3 years since the shower glass was installed, and both shower doors still swing perfectly. Nothing has come loose. If you are doing a remodel, MAKE SURE YOU PUT PLENTY OF LUMBER FRAMING BEHIND THE TILE TO HANDLE ALL THAT GLASS WEIGHT! It is one of the first questions Chris will ask you. My mother opted to ask another glass company in Seaside, CA to do her frameless shower in 2017. Chris was busy, so we just went with the other company. We wish we had waited for Chris. The other people were gruff, arrogant and they had to come back to readjust their work AFTER the glass door slipped and scratched the fixed glass panel. Their attitude about the scratch was like, "Eh, no big deal. These things happen." This type of bathroom glass requires a heart-surgeon mentality from the installer. Chris has that mentality. Don't risk it with anyone else.
