I've been here a couple of times and neither time was busy. I personally feel it's too pricey for the quality. The tortillas don't feel homemade. The carne guisada was ok, bean and cheese was good. I wouldn't consider this a go to spot. read more

I placed an order of 10 breakfast tacos over the phone, and the tacos were ready pretty fast. I got there and paid for the order and tip them. When I arrived to my destination I noticed they just gave me 8 tacos, so I called the restaurant to notify them of the error. The girl on the phone, said that they gave me 10 tacos, but I said, that why would I call and complain about 2 missing tacos? makes no sense. She said they will check their cameras and left me on hold. Then got on the phone again and said that she corroborated that they gave me 10 tacos not 8. At that point, I realized they were not gonna address the situation and told the girl that it was ok I just would never buy from them again. She said : "Ok" Now, about the food, the tacos are just ok, nothing great or special, they are bland, the flour tortilla is not handmade, and its more Texas style than authentic Mexican flour tortillas. Service, well its terrible. I am disappointed because it was my first time buying here. read more

Very nice clean spacious .the guisada tacos melt in your mouth. My friend ordered rancheros eggs - she liked it. Our waitress Dolores was very friendly and attentive. I give 4 stars because my friend said the ranchero salsa would be better if It were chunky instead of watery otherwise, I would it gave a 5 but maybe if they get that salsa chunky let me know :) read more

Tried this place for breakfast for the first time today. Good! We tried the huevos rancheros and tacos- all good. Appreciate the fact that they chop up the bacon with the eggs in the tacos! Good Barbacoa and homemade tortillas (flour and corn)! We will be back! read more

I picked up the Mexican plate today to go before they closed. The crispy taco was set in the container next to the enchiladas so that made the taco shell soggy. There was plenty of meat in the taco though. This was my first time here and I do live in the area. It was okay, but I won't go out of my way to go back. The Mexican plate is $10.99. read more

Ok now we are talking! Checked out this New Mexican restaurant this morning for breakfast and was not disappointed at all!!! The plates were delicious and very reasonably priced. The service was friendly and the food came out fast and hot! We had the barbacoa plate and the huevos rancheros. The barbacoa was meaty and delicious, the potatoes were crispy and not greasy, and the beans were perfect! The huevos rancheros were cooked perfectly. They provide a bottle of green and red sauce , both excellent! Overall a great experience and quality and authentic Mexican food. We will certainly be back! Nice work everyone. UPDATE : returned for lunch today and had the flautas de pollo and the pollo enchiladas verde .. both were great and great service again! read more

Service was pretty good, but the food was not at all. Carne asada was so tough, crispy beef tacos didn't taste good. The reviews were so good, I had high hopes, but I would not eat here again or recommend it to another. Hopefully it was just an off day for their kitchen. read more

Great place for lunch and dinner. Food is delicious and staff is nice. The service is very quick and there's a lot of diversity with guests but the ambiance feels just like Mexico. Only downfall, the parking spaces are crooked but still doable. Not enough to turn away from the restaurant. read more

Ala pinché madre Batman! Don't do what we have done and passed this place up again and again. Well yesterday we were like F it, let's check this place out. So we did and we had to give it the full Tex-Mex taste challenge which consisted of carne guisada, papa con chorizo, Al pastor, asada and the sweet tea in to-go-cups (it's a thing in San Antonio). Well believe you me when I say that this place could compete with any taco spot in SA. This place smacks!!! I've been coming here for a few months now and I have to say the Chef in the back be throwin down back there. Dropped in for a quick breakfast this morning and it was a great experience. Place is spotless and comfortable, with a menu featuring all the classics. They have a big board displaying daily lunch specials which are a bargain and include iced tea. We had migas and barbacoa, both of which come out hot and fresh. The barbacoa wasn't overly greasy and had terrific flavor. Flour tortillas were pillowy soft and hot. Breakfast came with three salsas. Watch out for the creamy green, it's VERY spicy but the flavor was so good I let it rip. Our server did an excellent job and was attentive to our needs. Looking forward to our next visit. read more

While the food is not bad, I detest people who charge a lot to begin with and on top of that, a credit card service fee when it's explicitly against the law to do so in Texas!! This experience was a five out of five star. Everything went very well from the quick seating in the booth to the server throughout the entire process, offering refills without having to ask for it the entrée was excellent. They do provide chips and salsa as you see it in all Mexican restaurants but this restaurant is highly recommended and it's an old-school neighborhood restaurants that you don't see anymore and it's very well priced.. read more

Great New Mexican Restaurant with friendly staff and excellent food in a casual setting. I have tried 2 different dishes over a 3 day span and each was very good. Their cheese enchiladas with beef tips were excellent as well as their Carne Guisada. Their Quesadillas are also very, very, good. In addition, they have Daily Specials in the $7.99 - 9.99 range, which is nice to see now a days. I am not price conscious when it comes to great food but this food would still be great at higher prices. read more

We had the chalupa's and enchiladas. Both very good. The hot sauce and queso is hot. So I could not really eat the chips and hot sauce. The service was great. The waitress was very attentive. It is an older restaurant that has been there for a long time. It has been several different things. The restaurant was clean. Nothing fancy. It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.

I believe I've discovered my new favorite low-key spot for Mexican tacos. The staff was incredibly helpful, even stepping in to assist a family of six when their baby accidentally dropped their coffee! I ordered a chorizo-egg taco and a potato-egg taco, both wrapped in flour tortillas. They were delicious, and the salsa had a nice thickness with just the right amount of spice--perfect for my taste. The tortillas were a bit thicker than I expected, but still enjoyable. I also tried their pancakes, which were very yummy and a delightful addition to the meal. I couldn't resist having a Mexican Coke, and the coffee was quite good as well. The atmosphere was relaxed, yet the place was bustling with energy. Overall, a delightful experience! read more

Came by and picked up some dinner the other day. I was very impressed on how clean and organized the restaurant is. There is so much space to move around and wait for your meal. The waitress was able to order my food rather quickly and the price was very good deal. 8.99 for an enchilada plate for dinner and I'm like hmmmm not too shabby. I only had to wait a little over 10 minutes and take my food home. The enchiladas were very soft and the sauce so delicious. The tortillas were home made and tasted so good.
