Man, oh man, was the food good! I ordered coffee and came with a small sweet bread in a cool coffee cup. That was a nice surprise. Then I ordered a potato, bacon and egg taco on flour and a beef fajita on corn. Both tacos were fresh and the flour tortillas was warm and chewy, I really liked it. The star was the beef fajita on homemade corn tortilla. The flavor of the beef was so good and the bell peppers and onions were plentiful. This place is horrible. I am from Houston. The only reason I went to this place because of this guy saying that it was a good place that Menudo was horrible. We order a taco plate the meat look horrible. My wife ordered a Ranchero plate with extra fresh cheese on the beans and the waitress said that they don't have any more cheese. My daughter order a Machicado and it was salty. They don't have homemade flour tortillas. They only have homemade corn tortillas so buyers be aware don't go here. It's not worth it. read more

Open 7 days a week, we tried out Mexico Lindo in the early afternoon on Sunday. Sunday's deal is a small plate of menudo and a barbacoa taco. I also tried the puffy taco plate that came with two tacos, beans, rice, and salad. My family enjoyed various other plates, like the shrimp nachos, kids taco plate, and breakfast ham and eggs plate. When I went they had aguas frescas, limonada and horchata. They did have bottled drinks and cervezas were aplenty. The owner and their server were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Good salsa. Good tacos. Good vibes. This new taco place has daily deals. Something different every day. We were seated quickly, but our first table and chairs were dirty so we moved. Service was slow. I was disappointed with my puffy tacos. They were fried corn tortillas, not traditional puffy tortillas and the meat was bland. The carne guisada was heavy-handed on the spices, and the meat was dry and overcooked. Tried this place out recently when we had a craving for enchiladas. Let me just say, we went back a second time already for the enchiladas specifically! They were so good and flavorful. I ordered the Diana Plate which comes with 1 beef and 1 cheese enchilada, 1 puffy taco, rice, beans and tortillas. For me, this plate can be two meals. The picadillo in the beef enchilada is flavorful, juicy and has little papitas. So yummy! The tortillas are soft and delicious. Homemade forsure. Also tried the fish taco plate. We have frequented this establishment before and the food was good nice and hot, service was decent but this morning was totally different. We ordered two breakfast specials, the Menudo and Barbacoa taco $10 and then their other breakfast taco special two breakfast tacos and soda for $3.99. The service was horrible. The food was worse and then when we asked to get our tortillas with our food, they make a long ugly fat face because it's too much trouble for them to get the order correct after 45 minutes waiting for our cold raw food. I would not recommend this place at all and then to top it off. Our bill came out to $25 which should've been closer to $15, so people run away from this establishment don't waste your time and money, not worth it. This is the first time I've been here since the restaurant reopened under the name "Mexico Lindo." It's predecessor, Papagayos, was excellent and I gave it a five star review on Yelp. This place is a poor substitute and I won't be returning for the following reasons: 1) EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. My bill for two breakfast tacos, a side of bacon and a coffee (with 20% tip) was $18. Without tip it was $14.76. The coffee was $3! Are you kidding me?!? Those are New York City prices. EASILY the most expensive breakfast tacos in San Antonio. It would be one thing if the food was incredible, but that brings me to the next point. 2) MEDIOCRE FOOD. The tacos were ok. That's it. The salsa verde was watery, not at all spicy, and actually tasted like it came from HEB. The salsa roja was average. The three dollar coffee tasted burnt and gritty. 3) MESSED UP MY ORDER. The bacon I'd ordered was supposed to be on the side. They put it in the tacos. Granted, this is nit picking, but if you're going to charge someone more for a side of bacon than the price of the taco it's going on it should at least be on its own plate. Because I left Mexico Lindo feeling like I'd been ripped off- a feeling I only have (occasionally) after eating at 5-Star restaurants- I will literally go ANYWHERE else in San Antonio for breakfast tacos. read more

Give this place business. We were very hesitant because we live in the neighborhood and would always pass by and there aren't ever a lot of cars here. We decided to try it since our go to taqueria is always packed in the mornings...and so glad we did. The food is great. The mole enchiladas were knock out good and so were the nachos and chalupas.
