I decided to give another try and this time it was my last time. I will not come back…read more I arrived one morning around 11:30 am and there was no technician! None. The owner told me that there is nobody now (did I make an appointment? I did once before but when I came in, there was still no technician - they forgot about me) but I can come back in 10 minutes (the technician is on her way). I came back next day and Wendy did my mani-pedi. While doing my pedi she forgot the lotion part, went straight from scrub to nail polish. I asked about it, and she said that she is too tired and forgot. Hmmm... tired at 12pm...? Well it's ok, happens. But then my manicure was the worst, she did such a horrible job. The polish was not even, she kept adding thick coats again and again, fixing her errors. I told her that the polish is too thick and won't dry.. she didn't believe me (just saw it later but didn't admit her mistake). She also put the polish on my skin around the nails but missed the ends of nails. I was so disappointed for wasted time (!) and wanted to ask her to remove everything and leave. But then again - she was so slow and I wasted an hour already. I was just so glad that I wasn't going on any trip/event with "this"! Again, I had to ask her to bring the machine to dry my nails - she just wanted me to air dry. In the meantime she kept stepping on the machine drying my toes. I told her that it's pressing on my feet and she probably shouldn't step on it, as it might break. She was like "whatever" and kept stepping on it. I was almost laughing when the machine broke in two parts from the weight of her foot. I mean, okay, step on it, fix it later, but to do it while her client is using it!? My nails did not dry (of course!) even though she said it's good. She gave me small discount because my manicure was a big mess but I was so upset about lost time... and ugly mani. It got ruined right after I left and the nail polish started to chip in 2 days. I mean - was she doing it for the first time? I later talked to the owner but she didn't seem to care much either. Now I understand why this place is always empty!

Jorica (@getglamorbeblem) is a beauty that will do your nails right (lashes & hair I've heard as well). I was looking for nail salons in the York Region area that caries the powder dip brand "Nugenesis"…read moreand came across this salon. I was surprised at first that there were no reviews of this place on Yelp, but did find a few on Google that gave me some positivity about this nail salon. I called on Monday afternoon to make an appointment on Tuesday afternoon. I struggled to find the nail salon within the plaza, that I had to refer to the Google picture of its storefront to find the place. There were a few other nail salons in the plaza, which gave me trouble finding Thee Nail Salon, but eventually found it. Parking is a little tricky depending on how busy the plaza is, but I THINK there is also underground parking? This small nail salon is run by two sweet Cambodian women. I had Theear do my nails. She was very sweet and friendly throughout the service and I had a great time getting to know her. The nail service itself was good, no complaints from me. She accomplished doing the nail shape that I liked. The reason why I am going to continue coming here from now on is because of the Nugenesis dip powder they use here. They have soooooooooooo many colours here that I was overwhelmed but happy. Theear also mentioned that if they do not have the colour that I want in the dipping powder, they can do a base white Nugenesis, and then shellac on top, which is only $5 extra. Looking forward to coming back!

My feet were in foil and acetone for exactly 35 minutes while she worked and filed my hands - I had to speak up. I asked that before she began polishing my hands, I wanted my feet out of the acetone - it was already much too long a soak. Boy, she did not like me setting boundaries. She stopped working on my hands to removal the shellac polish from my toes, still not rinsing the acetone solution off, so I had to ask for her to run some water in the bin so I could wash it off. And I did rinse it off. This deepened her already dark mood. I could feel her negative energy seeping out. She returned to my hands after I washed my feet, and I noticed she was putting a top coat on after only one coat of opi Malaga Wine! I spoke up. I asked her why she was already putting a top coat on. Industry standard is 2 coats, I've never had a one coat manicure after 30 + years of polishing my nails - this is nonsense. What's happening here? She said none of her clients complain, the polish was very, very thick so one coat would do. This is so wrong. Ladies, you have to advocate for yourselves, this place will take advance of you in any way they can. Thick, goopy polish needs to be thinned, or, tossed. Open a new bottle for heavens sake, or recommend I choose another colour, perhaps. Nope. Over all, a very disappointing experience that cost me 3 hours sitting in a salon. It's possible it was a very bad day for the tech and she needed to take it out on someone, but I believe that they rely on people's general sense of politeness, and inability to speak up and advocate for themselves, when they are being taken advantage of. Would never return, nor would I recommend. (It really doesn't matter that it was only the one technician, the situation was managed poorly overall and that speaks volumes to their ethics in running their business) That said, my toes were polished nicely, and a second technician (re-)did a good job with my hands.
