They do not care about your well-being, they only care about clients being here so that they get your money. After leaving this program, a male house manager attempted to add me on Snapchat. Multiple of the male staff members hit on my while I was in the program as well. This place is completely unprofessional.

Please note that the majority of the good reviews for this place are from from several years ago…read moreand that there really aren't any current good reviews. That's because this place has taken a turn for the worse over the last couple years when Rodney (The one who made what it used to be which was amazing) passed away. A lot has changed with new ownership and 449 is completely different than what it used to be. I literally hadn't even started the 449 IOP program yet before having a negative experience which was when I arrived at their house and met the house manager. She came into the garage wearing a T-shirt (nothing else) with no teeth in (she wears dentures) and proceeded to tell me that I had "too much shit" and that I would need to get a storage unit before even saying hi or welcoming me. She told me this while I was standing in the garage that stored everyone else's shit (with almost every pile being equivalent or more of what I had) so I couldn't quite wrap my mind around why I was being told that I would have to pay for a storage unit. The 449 program itself is repetitive and the groups suck and I can honestly say that I didn't learn or gain anything from the months that I spent in the this program! An example of this is that every single week for the first month I was there, I was required to attend the new client group held weekly which is the exact same shit every week! They don't provide you with lunch and's it just was overall a complete let down and waste of time. One last thing (there's plenty more to complain about but this is the last thing I'm choosing to focus on). They do a beach day every week (or every other week...I can't recall) but that involves being required to stay at the beach for the ENTIRE TIME (six long and painful hours) with no shade and absolutely nothing to do. I can understand being required to stay if there were activities planned or groups being held but there was none of that! So it's basically you being forced to stay at the beach for six hours with nothing to do, no shade and they don't even bother to provide you with food. The thing that I had a huge issue with was that I have a history of skin cancer and cannot be in the sun for that long (even with sunblock, it's not safe for me to expose my skin to that). They wouldn't even allow me to get an excuse from my dermatologist and told me that I would still be required to attend and didn't seem to even care that being forced to stay at the beach for six hours on a weekly basis was extremely dangerous for someone with my skin type & history of skin cancer! If you're looking for a solid IOP program, 449 is not it!

The facility is clean, spacious, and staffed by a professional, compassionate team. I still remember our first night bringing my father in--our family was overwhelmed with sadness, guilt, anxiety, and worry. Then Nurse Joy greeted us with a warm, beautiful smile. Her compassion and genuine kindness immediately brought comfort, especially to my mother. When my father was first admitted, he was essentially bedridden. He couldn't sit, stand, or walk on his own. He couldn't speak and needed to be spoon-fed. Yet after just four weeks at Villa Valencia, he was able to sit, stand, and take steps around the facility. He regained his ability to talk and to feed himself. The transformation was incredible--truly like night and day. Our family could hardly believe how quickly he recovered. We are deeply grateful to the entire team at Villa Valencia: the physicians, RNs, OTs, PTs, CNAs, and all the aides. Special thanks to Dr. Tran, Shaina, Kim, Joy, Tita, Veronica, and Victor. It's a wonderfully well-rounded team, and although I can't name everyone, I will always remember the kindness, patience, and care they showed to my father--and to my mother, who visited him every day.

We were very pleased with his care. The Staff were very helpful and caring. The food was very good and they could prepare it for those needed different levels of assistance. The facility is very clean. They manage the medicines carefully for each patient. And the Physical Therapy was daily. Our Case Manager was Gil Gapay and he was excellent. He oversaw Peter's care and when getting prepared for discharge to a Board and Care Home, he arranged: special Transport using a wheelchair, arranging Home Nurse Care, Physical and ordering a new Wheelchair (coordinating with our insurance). I would recommend them. It is not an easy situation for any family to go through. Navigating all the details can be quite overwhelming. Having great help makes all the difference.

My father was admitted to Trabuco Hills Post-Acute after being discharged from Hoag Irvine. Against our better judgment, and under pressure from insurance, we agreed to the transfer. It is the biggest regret of my life, worst two and a half days of my dad's life. On Friday, January 30, 2026, during a routine visit, I found my father visibly distressed. He was agitated, complaining of pain, had a severely red and swollen left eye, and his blood pressure and blood sugar were both dangerously high. Given his recent stroke history, this was extremely alarming. What was even more alarming was the staff's response -- or lack of one. I asked if a doctor was on call. There wasn't. I asked if he had been seen by a doctor. The head nurse did not know. She then called the physician because there were no notes or treatment plan documented. We were told the doctor "thought it was just an infection." They downplayed a potentially serious medical situation while my father was clearly suffering. Because I did not feel he was safe in their care, I made the decision to have him evaluated in the ER to rule out something more serious. Instead of support, I was met with pushback and attitude from the nursing staff. During this urgent situation, a member of administration, Mike Perez, came into my father's room -- not to assist with medical care -- but to pressure me into signing admission paperwork. Meanwhile, I could not get clear medical answers or a doctor to properly assess my father. When paramedics arrived, I requested he be transferred to his usual hospital in Orange. The head nurse declined and attempted to go around me during the transfer process. After the hospital evaluated and treated my father, Trabuco Hills refused to accept him back. Even ER staff at UCLA Medical Center were extremely apologetic about the situation and expressed disbelief that the facility would decline to readmit him after only four hours in the ER. They had difficulty reaching the facility, and when I finally got through, Mila, a night nurse informed me that because I advocated for my father and he had been in the ER briefly, they had already given his bed away. Given. His. Bed. Away. As a result, my father spent days in the ER in limbo waiting for placement at another facility -- all because I insisted he receive proper medical evaluation. I will never regret advocating for my father. He is now in a better facility where he is treated with dignity and appropriate care. But no family should have to go through what we experienced. If you love your family member, think very carefully before choosing Trabuco Hills Post-Acute. And if you have no choice, know your rights and contact the Ombudsman's office. No patient should be treated as disposable.

Everyone in both the therapy departments and living quarters was kind and helpful, but a few individuals truly stood out: Raphaelle (LVN - day), Daniel (LVN - night), Dillon (wound care), and Sam (CNA). Their compassion, professionalism, and attentiveness made such a difference in my recovery. They treated me with dignity and genuine care every single day. In Physical Therapy, I worked most closely with Jordan and Nathan. They were motivating, knowledgeable, and incredibly encouraging. They helped me regain strength and confidence in ways I will never forget. I am so thankful for the wonderful team who helped me through a challenging time.

They told her they could not get her pain medicine until 4a, almost 12 hours cold turkey with nothing. The bathrooms are under major construction (tile and drywall removal) while she was in the room with dust flying everywhere (mind you there were other rooms available). The nursing staff is completely unresponsive for hours and when she soiled herself because no one came, the response was "we are shorthanded" - this happened all 4 days she was there. They diaper you and leave you in your bed. The A/C was broken throughout the place for 24 hours. When she asked for pain medicine to be broken in half as it was killing her stomach, day 1 nurse said "no problem", day 2 nurse said I cannot do that. This was normal, inconsistent communication with staff care on multiple issues during the time she was there. One would tell her she should get up and sit in a chair, the next nurse would come in and yell at her what are you doing up, get back in bed. Food is almost un-edible, serving raw muffins, burnt or frozen food, etc. We had to bring her food. She started to decline within 24 hours after arrival. Removed her from the facility after 4 days and had a time with the doctor wanting to discharge her. There were some very nice caring staff as part of the physical therapy and aide team but overall it is not somewhere you should consider putting a loved one for care. This place is BROKEN.

She was about to be released and we needed to immediately find an Intensive Residential Treatment facility to transfer her to based on the advice of the attending psychiatrist at the hospital. All of this was new to us. Our daughter was still very much suffering, confused and in denial. In her altered state of mind at the time, she did not believe she was being helped (quite the opposite actually) and wanted to refuse any additional treatment. By the grace of God, we found A Mission for Micheal and in particular, Trey Napoli in Admissions. He quickly arranged for a smooth transition and in a matter of hours our daughter was on her way to AMFM. Every single day, her caring clinical team worked with my daughter on recovery. Every single day my daughter *chose* to stay another day (she could have left at any time). Today my daughter has transitioned to IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) and is continuing her recovery day by day. I am forever grateful to Trey and the staff in the Intensive Residential Program house (Blue Lantern House). It was very expensive at 54k for 45 days of intensive treatment but in my opinion, it has been worth our investment. I do not believe our daughter would be with us today if it weren't for this team of professionals. Our journey has not been without its bumps and AMFM is not perfect, but we are eternally grateful, as the things that really mattered were done extremely well. I highly recommend A Mission for Michael's Intensive Residential Treatment Program. Shout out to Stefanni G, our daughter's therapist. She was kind, caring, dedicated and always made time for us. Shout out to Yassi O, our daughter's case manager. She had a tough job! Shout out to Kelvin at the front desk. He was always kind, professional and extremely courteous towards us, even as our daughter thought she was "against us" during her altered state of mind. And shout out again to Trey Napoli, without whom none of this would have happened. Really and truly, thank you to all at AMFM. Your work is very much appreciated.

Expectations are often unclear or constantly changing, yet employees are still blamed for mistakes caused by poor leadership and disorganization. There is clear favoritism in how employees are treated, which creates an unfair and unhealthy work environment. Instead of taking responsibility, management often shifts blame onto staff, leading to low morale and lack of trust. HR was especially unhelpful. They rarely respond to messages, and in some cases, they block communication altogether. It feels like they support management rather than addressing employee concerns or providing real help. Overall, I would not recommend working here. The company needs serious improvement in communication, fairness, and professionalism.
