Greetings, Before coming into Covenant Hills, I was in bad…read moreshape. Living in a tent, drinking alcohol and smoking a lot of marijuana, along with a bad combo of medications for many years. Also while hiding it from a Pastor at my church. I put my wife through hell for over 8 years. My faith felt on the verge of cracking, and I was being fake. But then I got a Scholarship here! In the beginning I was prejudice with AA. However, after some time, I became open to it, with the help of others with the hang ups I had. Mr Ed gives a really good educational rundown with solid solutions. Family is Welcomed! The Doctors there are all very helpful. The lie is dead, We Do Recover! Many of those there in Ministry have been Set Free! Grandpa Pastor Tom is loving, with an ear to listen and no judgement. Case worker, Jeremiah Kee is a straight shooter and will not steer you wrong. One of the Best around. Pastor Bob is like a Theologian, concerning and helpful. Pastor Eric is a go getter, and will keep you laughing. On Sundays, we go to church. It is intimate with no emotional manipulation. Pastor Winston there is solid. Being there, I have made many friends and I will have them for the rest of my life! They All care for you! Staff member Joel is serious about AA, along with Jim aka Sniper. They have a phenomenal Therapist named Jeremiah that is one of the best and very trustworthy. He helped with unity between my wife and me. Now my Faith is stronger! I supremely recommend this program. And encourage you to come here if you have a problem with drugs and or alcohol. Had I not come here, I more than likely wouldn't be alive or I would be in some institution somewhere. I am beyond grateful as I was on my last thread, and this Program was used to save my life! Amen

THIS PLACE IS SO SPECIAL!!!! Really & Truly!!!…read more From the staff (Case worker Jeremiah, Counselor Jeremiah, and Ed) to the Pastors (Tom & Eric that come in and encourage the men). The staff here really care, love and invest all they have, from their heart, to minds, and souls to this program and the men treated here. They have 2 Tracks (Traditional AA & Christian) and both are amazing in their own ways. My husband has been to a handful of programs and never have they had such an impact on him mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as Covenant Hills has. God's presence is truly here in this place! His love, comfort and strength is seen and felt throughout each meeting, each staff member and truly in and through these men who put their all in this program, because really these men coming in really only have one last shot at sobriety. This disease is truly life or death. Covenant Hills goes above and beyond basic treatment. They encourage the men to dig deep within themselves, and get to the root of the problem. And not just treating the addict or alcoholic on a surface level but deeper treatment and doing the steps. They focus on relapse, and recovery and why they are so important. And unlike any other program I have visited my husband at, they involve the family in their treatment, and in their recovery. Helping us cope in the right ways, through faith, counseling, healing and in understanding why and how we can affect or contribute to their sobriety in healthy ways vs unhealthy ways. They teach us how to be a good supporter and not co-dependents that enable and continue to allow behavior or manipulation to occur but how to set healthy boundaries that will ensure our loved ones to be successful this time in their sobriety and for the rest of their life. My husband was blessed with a Scholarship for 60 days. They also take insurance which is great for all of the people that really need the help, as well as a being in a safe, positive, yet disciplined, loving, caring and structured environment. During those 60 days, he met brothers that I know he will stay friends for the rest of their lives. They really went deep, shared their pasts , hopes, dreams, faith. hurts, weaknesses, struggles and their hearts with one another. This has been such a truly special experience for my husband because he had isolated himself and felt alone in his addiction/alcoholism for so many years, too many which broke my heart. But here, by divine intervention, these men connected and found strength, peace, hope, love and a special brotherhood that only God could've orchestrated. A real support system while they all journey together in sobriety. A Special thank you to Jeremiah, his case worker. Thank you for your wisdom, guidance, encouragement, brotherly love and counsel, my husbands life has been forever changed because of your obedience to God's call and the purpose he has placed on your life to give back with all you have to these men. God Bless You! And another Special Thank you, to Jeremiah, his counselor. Thank you for your Godly counsel and care for God's wayward sons and their families. Thank you for your patience and for listening to not just my husband, but for listening and counseling me as well. He has placed you there with that Pastor's heart of service, love and care for such a time as this. We appreciate you so much. God Bless you! And last but not least, Ed their teacher, advisor, and counselor. Thank you for your passion, your wisdom, your love and care for the men in this program and for their families. You truly help the helpless, those struggling that have finally come to the end of themselves and need your support, discipline, encouragement and your voice of love and hope to help them make it through this journey successfully. You help equip them and us with the tools necessary, with the faith absolutely necessary, and the will to get through this together as a family unit. I really can't say enough good things about Covenant Hills. I am just so Thankful & Grateful for this program and the staff. God Bless you all!!!!

Wrapping up a one month stay at Capo By The Sea and figured I'd leave a review in hopes to be…read morehelpful to others considering treatment here (or elsewhere). Some background... I've struggled with substance use disorder / alcoholism for much of my teen and adult life and have pursued sobriety over the past three years, primarily through AA back home in Boston. I relapsed in May after a 9-month run of sobriety... during the 7 months from May through December, things got worse, not better, and I felt like I couldn't figure out how to get back on track on my own. I've long resisted the suggestion to attend inpatient rehab, primarily out of fear from completely disconnecting from my professional life (I run a professional services firm and feel I need to be reachable for emergencies, etc.). Once I found out there were rehabs that allowed phone access (which I hadn't considered), I decided to get over myself and pull the trigger by the time I turned 40, which I did during my first full day at Capo. Life at Capo: Peers (the other clients): Feel like I hit the jackpot here. I've been surrounded by other sharp, successful individuals who struggle in similar ways. Lots of diverse life experiences, incredibly kind and interesting people, universally supportive and serious in their pursuit of recovery. -- 10/10 Staff (therapists, technicians, support staff): Another jackpot. The program is supported by a large staff, most of whom have been with Capo for a long stretch. They work cohesively, skillfully, and have our best interests at heart. I couldn't be more thankful for the environment they've created. I've never eaten better, and I feel like I'm walking away with tools and insights that will help me sustain my recovery post-Capo. There's a good mix of group therapy, individual therapy, and alternative modalities (breath work, yoga, massage, etc.). Like with the clients: diverse life experience, incredibly kind and interesting people, universally skillfully and supportive in what how they approach their work. -- 10/10 Other Stuff: I've enjoyed being exposed to what I would call "the greater Capo community." I've enjoyed the outside AA meetings in the evening, attending Capo Church on Sunday mornings (always followed by a group brunch at The Brig in Dana Point Harbor), and taking walks around our neighborhood and down to Capistrano Beach. I haven't attended church much as an adult (raised Catholic), but I've found the Capo Church (which is not directly associated with Capo By The Sea) to be a cool place with great music. Attendance is optional, but it's been a great overall Sunday morning routine for me. -- 10/10 Other Other Stuff: John, the founder of Capo By The Sea, seems like an incredibly compassionate guy. He's certainly built what I would consider to be a heck of an operation. We get to know him directly as he runs our 7:30am gratitude meeting each day, and he also treats folks to brunch on Sunday mornings after church (if you decide to go). I think the culture and staff of any business tend to be a reflection of leadership, and I couldn't be more impressed or thankful for what John has built. I consider it a real blessing that I found my way to Capo By The Sea. -- 10/10 The Weather: I thought it was supposed to be sunny in Southern California? We've actually had a few days of rain during my stay. It would be cooler if the weather were 70 and sunny every day, not just most days. Sure beats Boston winters tho! Jokes aside, I've found Dana Point to be the perfect place to rest and recover before heading back home to the Northeast. -- 9.5/10

From the moment I arrived, I was treated with respect, dignity, and genuine care by both the owner and the entire staff. Nikki, who did my intake, was especially compassionate. She truly cared about me as a person and about my sobriety, and that meant more to me than I can put into words. I never felt judged--only supported and encouraged. This company was everything they promised and more. Capo By The Sea is perfectly geared toward working professionals who still need to take phone calls and continue working while focusing on their recovery, which made a huge difference for me. The location near the beach was absolutely beautiful and incredibly calming, and the Christian-based foundation provided strong spiritual support that helped guide my healing. Capo By The Sea played a major role in changing my life for the better. I am forever thankful for the care, structure, and honesty they provided, and I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking recovery in a supportive, professional, and compassionate environment.

I was going to die staring at life through the bottom of a bottle. Turns out I was very wrong. Every staff member at casa played a part in my recovery and showing me that I was allowed to be taken care of and that I was worthy of love and compassion. They were able to help me uncover traumas and issues from my past, teaching me how to dig deep into the pain, be vulnerable, feel it, and let it go. They gave me all the tools I needed to lead a successful life full of purpose. On my day 60, I got word that the absolute most important person in my life was on life support back in Seattle. Something i NEVER imagined I could walk through sober. But I was able fly home and be there with my grandma when she took her last breath. Sober. I had mike and sandy constantly guiding me along the way on the phone, at all times of the day and night. Whenever I needed support. And when I got back to casa, I was embraced with love and support. I was in a safe place where I was allowed to be vulnerable and grieve in my own way with infinite support. Without writing a novel here, I'm just going to say that Casa recovery not only saved my life but helped me find my purpose, my why. They gave me and my family hope. Mike, Pat, Sandy, Kevin, Kristen, Krishna...every staff member all played a big part in my healing and my ability to grow and change and become unbroken. I'm a productive member of society now. I'm back to work, I have a car, I have a sponsor and I work the steps daily. I've been through death, back surgery, jail, house arrest, and more death. All in 10 months of sobriety. I owe that to the staff at casa. I couldn't have done it without them instilling their knowledge in me and giving me the tools. The staff is dedicated to each client and their individual needs. They care. They understand. They have compassion and so much love. They want us to succeed when we walk out the door. I still call them in times of struggle or doubt. They always answer. I will always hold a special place in my heart for casa recovery, and I would recommend this place to anybody out there struggling. You don't have to struggle anymore, there is a solution. These beautiful people will help you find it!

I will say this, so far, it's going extremely well. The staff at my house is helpful and caring. They really go out of their way to make the people here feel comfortable & that in itself is truly appreciated, Esp bc I had serious fear and doubt about coming here at all. I've been pleasantly surprised at the level of care by the house staff. In particular.. April, Ivan, Tammy & Sutter have been a huge source of help in my treatment. I can talk to them about anything ( & I have had multiple meltdowns) & always receive a supporting conversation leaving me feeling very positive about the experience regardless of how uncomfortable I may be, feeling my feelings. Theo whom is my case manager is exceptional at his job. He is kind and very resourceful in all the aspects I ask of him. Like helping me with SDI, Doctor appointments and special requests- great listener and easy to talk to which is highly appreciated Brian my therapist is incredible at what he does. He is so well balanced calm and smart! I'm learning great EDMR & DBT Skills which have been a life saving tool in this process. Not using cannabis as a crutch was very difficult at first, I've used this for anxiety for a decade - Brian has truly helped me regulate my intense emotions through great breath work and other tools , Like EDMR Therapy . The counselors are lovely friendly and attentive , I truly have no complaints , I'm extremely committed to my healing so knowing these professionals care is very nice. I can really only speak from the mental health program which has been fantastic for me.. I put in a request to extend my stay because of the positive impact this is having for me. I attribute that to the people who work here completely. This review is from my personal experience. It has been a breath of fresh air for me. If you are struggling I would recommend trying this .

She had previously attended two well-regarded programs (including one at the world-renowned McLean Hospital), but they each only lasted 30 days and provided no aftercare so the results were very short-lived. I did a bunch of on-line research and found New Method Wellness through the Dr. Phil website. It was extremely nerve-wracking to make arrangements to send my child to a program across the country sight unseen, but Susie answered all of my questions and made things as easy as possible. The expense has been hard to manage, but Susie helped us figure it out. I was able to visit for a family weekend two months after my daughter started, and was absolutely in awe of both the women's house and the treatment facility. With her view of the Pacific from her bedroom window, I can pretty much guarantee that it's the nicest place my daughter will ever live. More importantly, though, the staff there has been amazing. I particularly credit the clinical director, DeAnna Jordan, and my daughter's counselor, Joey Hunter, with helping her make incredible progress. While I did receive a couple of "get me out of here" phone calls early on, that's the nature of the beast when the therapy goes deeper and gets more painful. I cannot say enough about NMW and the new life the program has given my daughter. It has absolutely been worth every penny. I am so grateful for everything they've done.
