Trabuco Hills Post-Acute's care was a nightmare. The room was dirty, the shared bathroom floor had holes in it. The food was unappetizing and usually lukewarm. Worse of all, the nursing assistants are not training or monitored. My mother got an E. Coli UTI that took her down for a couple of weeks and then C. Diff for another week after that. E. Coli in the urinary track is caused by stool being transferred to the urinary area during care. C. Diff is another infection caused by stool. My mother also had bruises that no one was aware of or knew how they happened. Lastly, I hid $40 in a glasses case in her drawer so she could get her haircut, which never happened in 5 weeks. I found that was missing when she was discharged. All this happened while I was visiting her for almost 8 hours a day. Imagine if I wasn't there. I filed a grievance and had a meeting with staff, but the damage is done. My mother will never be the same.

A family member had money that went "missing" while staying there. A police report was filed. Nursing home needs to pay this patient back!

The worst. No communication. Poor service. No continuity between staff. Avoid at all cost.

Can family members stay overnight in the room?

I believe so but I’m not certain. You would have to confirm that with the facility.

I spent 55 days at this facility and I am so grateful that I ended up going through this program. I…read morehave been through a few other programs where I received a broad spectrum of different experiences and levels of care but none of those places provided the level of care that Truvida and its staff provided. From intake to departure the staff was hands on and created a very comfortable, supportive, and safe environment. Reflecting on my experiences from different facilities, owners and upper management are all business and no compassion, I mean this in a way where they do not shy away from their clients. At Truvida all staff engaged with clients on a personal level to make sure that personal needs are being met. Truvida's mission is to make sure that the client is first above all else, I experienced this through my entire residency. Groups were always engaging and interesting, ranging from, Fitness, spiritual growth, Yoga, breathworks, Rock to recovery, beach Meditation, art therapy and more. All of the facilitators were professional and provided great direction for the group to achieve what the purpose of the group was intended for. Truvida's facilities are all second to none, from their detox/php house to the transitional living house, and now their newly constructed IOP center, setting the bar to compete with industry leaders moving into the future. My case manager Danny was a great support system, he made sure appointments were scheduled and any outside needs were handled appropriately. Danny helped me get to where I am now through the act of compassion, sharing his experience, strength and hope to an extent that there was no question he is there for the well being of the client. Kevin, the director of Truvida was always around and always there to make sure I was comfortable and happy with everything and anything. If I had any concerns it was comfortable to communicate with him. There aren't words to express how grateful I am for both Kevin and Danny, and especially the support staff. I've had experiences in treatment where I've felt like another number, or a dollar sign because insurance was paying out but at Truvida that is so far from the feeling and environment that you will get because I cannot say it enough, client first, above all else. This makes or breaks a path to recovery and makes the experience and message being delivered immensely more impactful. Thank you Truvida & staff!

My time here was traumatizing. Complete shaming and indoctrination if you are a believer in Christ…read more Constant feelings of hopelessness since my stay , maybe I should have taken the medication (without any diagnosis) as they so frequently pressure all the chemically dependent pumped through their business. Really disheartening, coming from a broken man who has nearly lost all hope out of my plight

AVOID GOING HERE AT ALL COSTS. There are plenty of amazing treatment centers in Orange County. Do…read morenot choose this place. I went here and was treated horribly by staff. They do not care about your well-being, they only care about clients being here so that they get your money. After leaving this program, a male house manager attempted to add me on Snapchat. Multiple of the male staff members hit on my while I was in the program as well. This place is completely unprofessional.

Please note that the majority of the good reviews for this place are from from several years ago…read moreand that there really aren't any current good reviews. That's because this place has taken a turn for the worse over the last couple years when Rodney (The one who made what it used to be which was amazing) passed away. A lot has changed with new ownership and 449 is completely different than what it used to be. I literally hadn't even started the 449 IOP program yet before having a negative experience which was when I arrived at their house and met the house manager. She came into the garage wearing a T-shirt (nothing else) with no teeth in (she wears dentures) and proceeded to tell me that I had "too much shit" and that I would need to get a storage unit before even saying hi or welcoming me. She told me this while I was standing in the garage that stored everyone else's shit (with almost every pile being equivalent or more of what I had) so I couldn't quite wrap my mind around why I was being told that I would have to pay for a storage unit. The 449 program itself is repetitive and the groups suck and I can honestly say that I didn't learn or gain anything from the months that I spent in the this program! An example of this is that every single week for the first month I was there, I was required to attend the new client group held weekly which is the exact same shit every week! They don't provide you with lunch and's it just was overall a complete let down and waste of time. One last thing (there's plenty more to complain about but this is the last thing I'm choosing to focus on). They do a beach day every week (or every other week...I can't recall) but that involves being required to stay at the beach for the ENTIRE TIME (six long and painful hours) with no shade and absolutely nothing to do. I can understand being required to stay if there were activities planned or groups being held but there was none of that! So it's basically you being forced to stay at the beach for six hours with nothing to do, no shade and they don't even bother to provide you with food. The thing that I had a huge issue with was that I have a history of skin cancer and cannot be in the sun for that long (even with sunblock, it's not safe for me to expose my skin to that). They wouldn't even allow me to get an excuse from my dermatologist and told me that I would still be required to attend and didn't seem to even care that being forced to stay at the beach for six hours on a weekly basis was extremely dangerous for someone with my skin type & history of skin cancer! If you're looking for a solid IOP program, 449 is not it!
