NRG Day Spa is an upscale business with affordable prices. It is well appointed and stylish and impeccably furnished. The room I was in had a heated table and was very comfortable. Julie performed my massage and it was the best I have ever had. The problem areas were addressed and I left there feeling like a million bucks. I get massage therapy regularly for a chronic pain condition. I have had many massages from many places. NRG has become my go to. Kristina, the therapist I see there, is very talented. Every time I go, I am amazed by how much better I feel afterward. I used to see another therapist fairly regularly, but I always had to book a few days in advance (pretty standard). But chronic pain is tough, and one day when it was super bad, I decided to try NRG, because they could fit me in that day. Very glad I did! I wasn't expecting much (little storefront spas can be hit or miss), but the massage quality and availability have been superb. I will keep returning, and recommend NRG. read more

I believe the problem you're going to face, dear Yelper, is whether or not they even want to give you a massage. Storytime: I slept funny and woke up with a gnarly knot in my left shoulder blade. It ruined my gym day. Since I live close to this place, I looked at the reviews. Quite a mix. Most people were either happy with the quality of the massage or unhappy about the service. I decided to walk in, as their door has a "walk-ins welcome" sign. I explained I just needed an upper back massage, nothing fancy. I saw there were options for 30 min massages. Perfect. The young woman advised they were booked now but had an opening at 7:30 (in 40 mins). I said okay and asked if I needed to make an appointment. She just said "yes, see you at 7:30". (English is not the first language). I returned at 7:30, was asked to wait a few minutes, observed another patron leaving, then the young woman disappeared and another older dark haired woman emerged and asked if I had an appointment. I said I did and had made one with the young woman for 7:30. She apologized and said the owner called and said they are done for the day and also said there was an appointment now and they were unavailable. Yes, two contradicting statements of fact. read more

I received an amazing hot stone massage from this establishment (if you can call it that). With that said, I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone, ever. My husband purchased a gift certificate for me in Late September of 2021. Since that purchase, our family dealt with COVID twice, among many other illnesses stemming from our already compromised immune systems. We have 2 toddlers! Haha- it was hard NOT to bring germs home :) FINALLY- I am so so so excited to get my massage (early March of 2022) and when I get there and hand over my gift certificate, the attendant tells me "nope, this is expired".. I was like wait what?? There isn't an expiration date on the certificate- she says- "it's on the website" I say.. don't you think you maybe should've written it on here if there is actually an expiration?? I've been looking forward to this for FOREVER and now I'm mortified as you tell me, quite frankly, that my $200 gift certificate is just gone... well, I cried! I was so so excited, I love massages and this was the first time my hubby surprised me with one and now I'm embarrassed and even more stressed out. I wish I could've used it sooner, but again.. there was no expiration date on the certificate. So I left, extremely upset, she finally said she was sorry as I was walking out and I responded with- "you should be sorry." I got home and they called me back, said she felt badly about how I left and she wanted to make it right. I told her I was mortified and honestly- why would I go back to a place who made me feel so shitty??! But- I agreed to go back, thinking I would get at least a massage that would equal $200..? (Also, at this point I checked their website and there is NO expiration policy listed anywhere). SO- I receive a massage, it WAS amazing, but it was not for 2 hours and they took my certificate back. After she gave me a hug and again apologized, I told the employee that she should stop telling people the expiration date is listed on the website. She said "why? Is it not" Sooo.. she was just lying, or merely repeating what someone else had told her?? At any rate- this was all very WRONG. So, I told my husband everything and he filed a complaint with consumer affairs because this business is not abiding by CA state law for gift certificates. We wanted to talk to the employee who originally helped us, but a couple hours after we called to see if she was working, my husband received a personal text from someone at the Spa, threatening to file a police report against him for harassment. Are you kidding me?? Now you are threatening my family??? What the??? So.. yeah.. This place is shady.. clearly there's something else going on here.. Don't go here. We actually did find the employee who originally helped us with the gift certificate because her picture is on a google review posing as a customer giving NRG a 4.5 star review. Left very frustrated & still in pain. I've been dealing with a pulled muscle in my neck for a few days, so at 3pm I was able to get a 90-minute booked for 5pm (should have been my first red flag). I was told I would be with Julia, but when I got there they acted like they had no idea I was coming. I ended up with a woman named Christina. I'm in the industry, so I've had many massages, and it was unfortunately the worst massage I've ever had - it honestly made me question if she was even a licensed MT. Even though I circled my areas of pain on the intake form, she didn't ask me any questions about what I wanted worked on. She barely touched my neck, so the reason I was there went unaddressed. The music was foreign-language pop music, not relaxing at all. The sheet was tiny and thin, so when she removed the towels after scrubbing me down with them I was freezing. She left the room 4 times. And I'm pretty sure she was on her phone when she was working on my feet. I came here because of the good reviews, but I will not be back. I wish I would have stopped her at the 60-minute mark to save some of my money. read more

Came here around 5pm because I had some tension in my back and was hoping to get some relief from a Swedish massage. The female masseuse did not know what she was doing. Was so light on the touch even though I told her to be more firm. She also kept skipping around from area to area. I could get my 5 year old son to give me the same kind of massage. I bought a gift certificate worth $200 for my wife for her birthday back on September 29, 2021. Life gets crazy, we have two small kids, covid, working from home, all the distractions in the book. Long story short, she made an appointment to finally use the certificate on March 31, 2022. She gets there and the gal at the front counter tells her they cannot honor the gift certificate as there is a 6 month expiration on them. The gift certificate did have an area for the expiration date that was never filled out by the person who issued me the cert. The gal then proceeded to explain that if you look on their website, they clearly state the same, 6 months is the max for the gift certificate. Bullshit, we scoured the site, there is not a single word about the length of time you have to use the gift certs. Also, let's check the civil code for a minute shall we? In California, it is against the law for store gift certificates and gift cards to have an expiration date or dormancy fees. NRG, look up the state laws before you attempt to impose your own. I will be contacting Consumer Affairs and the BBB due to your clear lack of understand of plain laws. Feel free to consult Leginfo and look up the California Civil Code 1749.5 if you don't believe me. Needless to say we won't be back and I would advise anyone else to avoid this place. I don't take time out of my busy schedule to write reviews unless I truly feel they are warranted. They did cave and gave my wife a massage that lasted just over an hour, most likely worth $100-120, so we are still out at least $80. I am simply pricing this based off their services list. Take your money and business elsewhere, the hire people to do their reviews to boost their ratings, they're rude and unprofessional. They have been reported to the BBB. read more

I was gifted a 1 hour prenatal massage at this spa. When I arrived, I was greeted by a very friendly woman named Anya. She was also my massage therapist as well. They were able to fit me in same day and I had Natalia. Natalia was nice and communicated well. However, I wanted to try some deep tissue with my Swedish and she did warn me it may be a little rough. I appreciate that she wanted to get rid of my knots but don't recall deep tissue being so rough at other places. If I come back, I'll likely stick with the Swedish. The one thing I wish they change is the music and people talking loudly in the waiting room. The music was some sort of 50s Elvis style mix with a few Spanish. It was not relaxing nature or waterfall like sounds. I could also hear others in the waiting room even though there was a sign that said quiet. Not sure if I will be back but I do encourage others to give this place a try but just not the deep tissue if you're sensitive. read more

I have had back and wrist injuries due to an accident and by chance tried a massage several months ago by Lina who works at NRG. I had had several other massage people but the massage did not alleviate my pain until I went to Lina. I could not believe how well I felt after the first massage with Lina! I went back about 3 weeks later and the same thing happened. The Pain was much less and I have been going to her every 3-4 weeks since. She is very nice and good at what she does. I found this place on the highest rated spas on Yelp last week. Went here for the first time last Sat. for a full leg wax. Marina did my wax and she did a great job - very thorough with it and explained every step and after care procedure. She was also very nice and friendly and made sure I was at ease the whole time. She'd be great with first time service customers who are nervous. The salon was very clean and decorated nice throughout. My only complaint that prevents me from giving this place 5 stars is that they charge a $5 service fee for paying with a card! That is very excessive imho. Nobody else charges that much! I will continue to go here though, just pay in cash next times. read more
