In a place that is fundamentally littered with supermarkets, with a Tesco and Morrisons both a stones throw away, NPK is a shop that is part of a dying breed of 'corner shop' in the area.
Upon entry, the shop goes to the left and right, with the counter in the centre. Okay, in terms of being a real match for a supermarket, by default, it is not quite up there with the best, but in terms of supplying the residents around it with the staples without queuing up to be served, it is perfectly reasonable. Stocking an array of magazines, alcohol (with a large collection of spirits that are to be bought over the counter), tinned goods and detergents, as well as milk, bread etc.
What does this shop justice are the lovely people that work in there. They are charming and friendly, and make you feel welcome, rather than feeling that they almost expect you to steal something, as you get in other shops of this nature. read more
