I stayed at Novotel Paris Est Bagnolet on a trip to Paris over New Year's. Let me just say that the rooms look nothing like they do in the pictures that are on Novotel's website. Now for the review:
The employees lied to my family numerous times, and for the first 4 days or so there was no A/C, so the room was about 87 degrees Fahrenheit. Oh, and did I mention that the windows don't open? Not only that, but the mini fridge didn't work for those 4 days either. I was in room 665 on floor 6 just in case you were wondering. Also, my family put a do not disturb sign on the door, but the maid completely ignored it and came on in. There were three of us staying in the room, me, my mom and my dad, so we had three towels for showering. The maid took those three and left us two. We told the front desk, and they said they'd tell the maid to give us three. Yet they still kept giving us two. Also, they checked a ton of people out of the hotel before we even left, so the room keys stopped working and a ton of people couldn't get into their rooms. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the rooms were pretty filthy too. I suggest that you don't walk barefoot in your room. If you're wondering about internet connectivity, the do have WiFi, and it's actually pretty fast. It's just very unreliable. You have to put in your email for 24 hour access, but you can just put anything you want as long as it has an @ symbol in it. Example: (yourwifisucks@pleasefix.com) And now onto breakfast do's and do not's: Do not: Eat the eggs (you can pour them into a cup and drink them, they're so undercooked. Do not: Drink the milk (like every other drink in France, it's room temperature.) Do not: Eat the sausage (It's about as raw as the eggs) Do: Eat the breads, jelly, and butter (Best I've ever had)
Pros: Nice lobby, wonderful jelly and bread, close to Paris and the Metro.
Cons: Employees don't really care about customer satisfaction, rooms are pretty disgusting, A/C sucks, breakfast is really, really bad, and the showers are extremely sensitive.
Summary: For a day or two, sure, as long as you set your expectations very low. I wouldn't stay any longer than 2 or 3 days, at that point I'd get a much better hotel in a better part of Paris. I hope this helps :) read more
