This is one of those up and down reviews for me. The positives were my meal. I ordered the risotto de mariscos. This is risotto with octopus, calamari and shrimp. This was served hot. It was very good The margaritas were good. My friend said how good the marg was so I decided to get one. It was really yummy. The ham empanada was different. I did not care for it. I did not think it had much flavor. My friend ordered a filet mignon cooked to medium. It was overcooked. Her mashed potatoes were cold. She told our server. He brought some mashed potatoes back like 10 minutes later. It was a very small portion. She said they were still cold, not even luke warm. When our server came over to ask how everything was she said the potatoes were still cold. He laughed about it which was odd. A server dropped a bottle of red wine right behind me. In fact, I saw out of the corner of my eye something was about to happen. I did not have time to move. No one asked if I got wine on me or anything. It was sort of an annoying meal. read more

First timer, it took us long enough to come here. This location has been open for many years. We decided to give them a try during the legendary Miami Spice. We're so glad we did. Service was very nice and pleasant. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. She gave nice suggestions and made it a point to check in regularly. The setting was casual and warm but at the same time modern and clean. Dinner for $45 with 3 courses...? You can't beat that! Portion sizes at first seem on the smaller size but to be honest it was just perfect! I was pleasantly pleased with the steak. Great flavor!!! We will certainly be back to try the full menu. First time here and I have mixed feelings. The restaurant is very nice and well kept. It has a bar in the middle and 3 dinning areas as well as outside seating. We sat inside and like that although there are some TV's the sound was not overwhelming. Truthfully the best part of our dinning experience was our server Lissette. She was very nice, treated us with care and was consistently checking in. She made nice conversation with a smile and didn't seem rushed when taking our order. Now for the food there were good and not so good things. We had wagyu carpaccio which was tasty but it had some kind of spread, I think it was garlic sauce, and Parmesan cheese on top which overpowered the taste of the beef. Although it tasted good, we would have preferred just some oil or lime. My husband had a picaña steak which was seasoned very well and was tender. We got truffle fries with it which were very good. I ordered the gnocchi and I was disappointed the texture was too doughy and the sauce was not very appetizing. It had like a freezer burn taste. I had only about 1/4 of the dish and could not finish it. For dessert we had caramel creme brûlée and it was delicious. The dishes are a good price and overall we enjoyed our lunch I just wish I could have enjoyed my food more. I've been here a couple of times, but I haven't left a review, I would say it OK, but I've been disappointed for the past two visits. Last month, I had lunch with a coworker, but after we ate, it was really hard to get our server's attention. We had to wait an hour to get the check. This time around, it was pretty good. We came here for our daughter's birthday and to taste their miami spice menu. We were pleased to know that on Tuesdays, it was 50% off wine bottles, and they had entertainment for the night, which was a couple tango dancing all over the restaurant. For appetizer, we ordered the diced potatoes seasoned & topped with a fried egg, the tomato wedge salad & the mussels in garlic. However, the mussels ended up in a red sauce vs. the garlic sauce I was expecting. Overall, they were pretty tasty but not what I was anticipating. We ordered the steak special with fries and garlic spinach , which was delicious. We also got the branzino dish, which was a decent size perfectly cooked & crispy skin, which I rarely have the skin from the fish. My daughter ordered the ricotta cheese gnocchi. For dessert, we ordered a nice dessert wine (since the bottle was 50% off) & the dulce de Leche crepe & flan. These desserts & portions did not disappoint! Novecento Restaurant offers a truly lovely ambiance and an excellent culinary experience -- the location is stunning, the food is flavorful, and the location has great potential. However, I believe that in such a high-end establishment, there should be greater focus on staff training and customer service etiquette. It was very disappointing to be addressed informally and repeatedly with terms like, "tu" and "mi vida." While perhaps meant kindly, this overly familiar tone feels unprofessional and inappropriate for a restaurant of this caliber. I've enjoyed the food & ambiance at the Novecento in Brickell & just returned from Argentina. Meeting NYC friends for dinner in Aventura & figured Novecento is a sure bet. Easily I made reservations weeks in advance for a weeknight dinner. In 1991 Novecento opened in NYC, then Argentina, Uruguay & recently in South Florida. This Novecento is near the Aventura Mall with plenty of free parking. Happy hour was until 7:00, we were able to enjoy a two for the price of one select wine, beer or cocktail, I opted for an Argentinian Malbec which was fruity and delicious. The happy hour small plates didn't look too special, but we were here for dinner anyway. Lizette, our waitress took such good care of us. She made fabulous recommendations and was on point. Service couldn't be more wonderful. We weren't rushed & comfortably caught up with out of town friends for 3 1/2 hours over many courses. It was a beautiful evening and we enjoyed sitting outside at a big round table for six. The dinner menu was appealing; there was a large selection of empanadas, salads, sandwiches, homemade pasta, and Parrilla. There were Milangas, breaded chicken or beef cutlets with different toppings. Parrilla are all the cuts of beef that Argentina is known for from flank, skirt, fillet mignon, sirloin, ribeye, NY strip ... There were Parrillada platters for four which looked appealing. I'm not a big meat eater but the steaks & homemade pastas in Argentina were really special! Six of us enjoyed our mussels appetizers, salads with pasta or steaks, everything was delicious! Dinner prices here were reasonable and portions were generous. We tried to save room for the Creme Brûlée de Dulce de Leche, thank you Novecento for the complimentary desserts even without a song. Went on Valentine's Day and the restaurant was superb! The atmosphere transported you straight to Argentina. Our waitress was great despite how busy it was and any other server there was more than happy to help with any requests. The picaña and entraña were cooked to perfection! These cooks are skilled, as they didn't burned a well done steak like most restaurants do. Not them, they actually know how to cook it well done and still keep it pretty juicy ! I've heard of this place before, plenty of times and I'm happy that I went to try it out for the first time. The service was amazing. Our server was super kind and accommodating. She noticed the bartender gave me too much beer foam so she decided to offer me a new beer to compensate for the foam, which I truly appreciate. I didn't even have to mention it because she already knew and I love the initiative. The meat on the other hand was decent. I've had better steak before and nothing about this meat, especially the Picana stood out to me. The Souffle de Dulce de Leche was delicious, I highly recommend but the flan was also decent, a little grainy. It is definitely a lot of food and good item to share for 3-4 people. I also loved the soufflé de dulce de leche which was essentially a dulce de leche crepe. My to go happy hour place in Aventura. Service is excellent, since I'm always at the bar, I always get served by Lou (amazing bartender with impeccable customer service). The restaurant is super relax and cozy . By now I tried all of their cocktails on happy hour and 2for1 special is always welcome and it's everyday from 3PM to 7PM Since it's an Argentinian restaurant you will find a lot of meats dishes and the wine selection is sublime. We came in to eat on November 21st and had a very poor experience at a restaurant where I I was previously a regular customer. We wrote a review and privately allowed for them to contact me. Unfortunately, they contacted me publicly and asked for my phone contact so they could make it right.,which I would not do publicly. After calling the restaurant several times to alert them to this and leaving my contact details I received absolutely no call back. I can give this Restaurant no rating whatsoever since the first one was very poor, and they did not respond in a reasonable manner or a timely manner. What a shame we used to be regulars With so many new restaurants opening in the neighborhood I would hardly call this a neighborhood gem any longer despite their spending, I'm sure a considerable sum on a total remodel. If it were for the intangibles of good company - as well as the flavor of some dishes - this review could be much higher. Alas, even the aforementioned good company had issues with her dishes. Tucked away toward the back of an Aventura strip mall, this location has plenty of parking and a few outdoor tables. Our server Mark was really pleasant, and brought out items - when we reminded. Therein lies why I'm keeping my review at 3 stars. We started to share their burrata, which by itself tasted pretty good with the right amount of salt on our prosciutto and creamy burrata. But just like peanut butter goes with jelly, burrata is typically complemented with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. We had to request the condiments. I don't like to hear my cow moo. Therefore I was loving my churrasco eggs benedict, since even as medium well the steak was pretty juicy and the poached eggs nice and runny. The greens were pretty fresh and I skipped the bread. My companion likes her meat a little redder; unfortunately hers was overcooked. Her and I agreed on loving the dulce de leche torrejas. They were rightly fluffy and the dulce leche and maple syrup may have even had a slight kick to it. Alas, we had to remind them to bring the regular maple syrup as well. The restaurant wasn't too packed when we went, so here's hoping these were only temporary slipups. read more

One of the best Happy Hours in Aventura! I went in for a quick drink and a bite with my girlfriend and her baby and we decided to sit outside. Our server was very kind and patient with us and provided excellent service. I couldn't believe my glass of cabernet was only $4! My friend and I shared the ceviche appetizer and it was excellent. The good: the patio is lovely, the food is very delicious and well priced and whatever spread that is that comes with the bread is amazing. The less good tonight? Our server was actively sick--making lots of sniffles and snort sounds (we heard him tell the table next to us, who seemed to be regulars that he didn't want to get too close or kiss them "until he was less germy and not going to get them sick." It was GROSS and unappetizing to have someone serve us and handle our food who obviously had some kind of virus. To start off we were handed the lunch menus, and took us 10 minutes to select our meal. By the time the waiter came over to us the lunch menu was over and they made us pick what we want allll over again from another menu. Very weird way to start. Very unprofessional. My husband and I have an eating restriction where we cannot eat meat and dairy together. We explained this multiple times to the waitress. She brought us our food and my food had cheese all over the top of the meat. We told her we cannot eat this and explained already that we don't eat meat and cheese together. Instead of offering me the menu again, or taking it off the table, she basically tells us there's nothing she can do about it and blames us for this. I left the restaurant HUNGRY as the waitress saw I wasn't able to eat my food and didn't offer me another look at the menu or anything! They even left the messed up dish on our bill which through me off the edge! Coronavirus pandemic edition review: I stopped by this location for the first time to pick up an order for #YelpsBigNightIn woooo! Novecento has a COVID-19 stimulus menu that features select items for 50% off (yaaas), so I got an Ensalada Novecento which comes with fries and a chicken empanada at half price. Order through their website directly for this menu, since I don't think they offer it through Doordash or Ubereats. Parking is super easy with it being in a large strip mall down the way from a Publix. Their front door was open with a table set up right next to the hostess stand to set down orders to go. After I waited for a minute, a chef came out of the kitchen. I asked him whether I could take the bag on the table that I had spotted with my name and order details on it, and he was very courteous in saying go ahead and wishing me a good day. I had assumed that the salad would come with skirt steak like the menu photo and choose the option "without chicken", only to find that it left the salad to be a simple green salad with avocado. (My bad.) Which was fine since the fries were supposed to be added in the salad. The dressing was a creamy balsamic and lovely. But the fries were way too salty, to the point where they were primary what I tasted when I ate them with the salad. It was a shame since they were thick cut fries that would've been a nice potato addition to the greens. The chicken empanada was stuffed with flaky tender white chicken; I want another one just writing about it! The sauce it came with was a fresh tomato sauce, perfect to offset the oil of the thick but crispy empanada crust. I think I'll order again from the stimulus menu while it lasts because I don't think it's very reasonable to get a $16 simple greens salad with avocado and fries (yeah, that's the full price of it!). I'm a little stoked to try the other hearty empanadas! read more

I came here for a girls day with my sister and our little ones. I'd previously visited Novecento during a Miami Spice event and enjoyed the food and service so returned for this visit . Everything that we ordered was delicious. We ordered the Milanga Eggplant, burnt tomatoes, bread basket, pasta in pomodoro sauce, a fresh lemonade in glasses for the little ones, that made them feel really fancy lol. This place is amazing ! I come here every weekend ! There are limited options, I feel, in Aventura for brunch, however this place never disappoints! The food is such great quality and you never have to worry about the use of low quality food products. Lissette is often taking care of us and she does an amazing job ! Her service is so attentive and she always knows how to make us feel so comfortable ! They recently changed the English muffin on their menu which I feel was a mistake as they were so delicious before. I hope they change it back as we used to look forward to it every weekend ! Decided to take my wife here and had an OKAY experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, but the service was slow and inattentive. Our waiter was hard to flag down and seemed uninterested in our experience. The food was average at best. The best part about tour meal were the apps. The Calamari and the ceviche were pretty good. My steak was overcooked and lacked flavor and sides were okay, but nothing special. The drinks were decent, but with everything ordered considering the experience and food quality, the prices are a little too high for what you get here. All in all, Novecento wasn't the greatest dining experience. I would only return if I were to learn that there was a big turn around here. read more
